The best restaurants serving British food in South Northamptonshire East Midlands

Nice sunny day made it a really good experience so we could sit outside very clean and tidy and the nicest cappuccino I have ever had

Another Northamptonshire Pub that made a stranger who only moved the to area at the start of the lockdown very welcome. Gorgeous cosy interior that has not been corporatized or over developed. Friendly locals easy to engage with. Oh and the ale is stunning The village is stunning and sits on the equally stunning Knightley Way among the lightly used back roads around this largely undiscovered section of the county. Restrictions for the crisis are sensibly managed and not at all onerous. Food has not yet restarted but I am sure it wont be long and there is no reason to believe it wont match the excellence of the rest.

Walked from the Grand union canal (18mins). Dog friendly with garden at the rear. Food reasonably priced. Only had Timothy Taylor on draught £5.60 pt.

Up from Kent to visit my daughter in kingslynn, met up with some of her work colleagues for the Thursday night quiz. Staff so nice and friendly, felt like I was a local. A great fun evening, prices were reasonable (but then I’m used to London prices!). Had a few sides to pick at and the chips were cooked to perfection and plenty of them. Nice to see a large car park and welcoming open fire. Will certainly make a point of booking a meal here next time I’m visiting. Thanks for a fun evening.😀

Have been here a few times and they always serve such amazing food, fresh, delicious food and have the best service. Lovely place for food or drinks!

Extensive menu with great veggie options. Portions generous (don't be tempted to supersize the chips!). Very friendly service.

I came here on Friday night with my partner for the first time and we weren’t disappointed. The Fox is a lovely old pub with a great atmosphere and attentive staff. I ordered the crab and lobster fish cakes and my partner had the venison burger. Both really delicious and very filling. We were sad we didn’t have room for dessert! Thanks so much. We’ll definitely be back.

Solíamos frecuentar LA RED LION a menudo, pero desde el cambio de propietario no es el mismo. La calidad de la cena ha bajado y la cálida bienvenida que acostumbrado a recibir de la anterior dueña ha dejado con ella. Es una pena, ya que este puede ser un fantástico pub/restaurante ya consolidado bajo el antiguo régimen.

On arrival the pub was busy as you’d expect on a sunny Saturday! We had booked a table and were reminded about the car parking which we’d spotted signs for so that was helpful. When we were seated our drinks orders were taken. These then took 15 mins to come before we could order food. We ordered as soon as the drinks came and were told there was a 35-40 mins wait for food. Which you get as it’s a busy weekend. We ordered at approx 14.10. At 15.05 I asked the server how long our food might be as we had two very hungry 7 year olds with us. I was advised our order was next and would be 5 mins. I asked again and was told our food wouldn’t be long. We’d also got up and ordered our own drinks at the bar in this time as service was a bit hit and miss. We’d already ordered crisps for the kids as we’d been waiting so long. Our mains came at 15.30, after an hour and 20 min wait. When I complained about the length of time I was told it was because my children had starters and the time was from them and the time essentially gets “reset,” to which I did point out it was still an hour and 20 mins for our mains to come… The food was ok, but I’ll be honest we would maybe come back for a drink but not for food. Service wasn’t great and food was average at best. The kids Mac and cheese was tiny for my 7 year olds and I gave him most of my chips from my meal. The only saving grace was that I managed to use the 30% off mains code for this weekend. Such a lovely location for the pub but a shame it was all a bit lacking today!

This little bakery is a diamond . Fantastic cakes bakes and bread with a great location and super friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend this place . Oh , and the best Eccles cake I’ve ever had.
