Sunday Roast for 11 We all had Sundays roasts and even though they had run out of Roast potatoes The meal was tasty hot and everyone enjoyed The staff were excellent and served up our meal without any long delays Very attentive without being intrusive and friendly even on the shift changeover still great service Would recommend

Cannot say a bad thing about our meal tonight, the food was amazing, there was 6 of us 1 of us had a steak and ale pie and the rest had different burgers which included a special pork belly burger which looked delicious! Karl looked after us and he was so attentive and we all felt very well looked after. If I could give more stars I would!! Thank you so much to Karl and the team for an amazing meal!

Nice food, nice cosy ambience and generally good service, although I did find it strange that a smaller group (3 as opposed to 5) who ordered food after us managed to eat and pay and leave before our food arrived. That and taking a lifetime to be offered the dessert menu when it was not particularly busy were the only reasons I didn’t give this place a 5, although to mitigate the staff were super friendly and at the beginning did check in with us regularly to see if all was ok. Dog friendly and overall I would recommend this place, we eat there on Sunday and Friday and the food was good, no issue from the group With anything eaten 👍🏻

Having been ignored at a nearby pub while waiting to be served (locals were not having the same problem), we gave up and strolled along to this place. We received a friendly welcome, even though we just wanted a drink. We were shown to a lovely area where we could sit. The atmosphere was so nice, busy but relaxed. We would not hesitate to return here to eat as the food looked very good

Stunning canal-side pub. Plenty of choice on the menu. Chicken kebab and signature burger were delicious. Pub always busy at peak times so best to book to get a table. And even dog friendly which always gets my vote!’

Just had a fantastic evening at The Navigation Inn for my daughter’s 18th family meal. Wide range of food on the menu and absolutely lovely and tasty food, the steak cut was delicious, everyone enjoyed their food and that’s rare for my family! Highly recommend. Staff were friendly helpful and hard working top marks to Carl for looking after our table! We will definitely be back

Looks a lovely place a bit tired in places outside a nice setting. Inside was nice, staff were over run but pleasant enough. Gin bar looks impressive but so far away from the bar if you don’t know your bottles you’ve had it. The garlic bread looked nice. TBH almost £14 beer & gin & tonic quite pricey. As for folks moaning about the parking - if you didn’t see all those signs you’re blind.

Staff were friendly and efficient , choice of food is good and reasonably priced . The offer on a Thursday (steak and wine )was a good deal , however I wish now I had upgraded my sirloin steak as it was a little tough and chewy ,hence why I’ve only given four stars , however my mother had the ribeye and she said it was fabulous! The puddings were delicious also . We will definitely go again

I'm disgusted how we have been treated at your establishment. We parked in your car park and had a meal and drinks on the 16th of August. We were visiting our son and family nearby. We have proof of purchase at the bar! After arriving home we have received a parking fine for £60 for parking in The Navigation car park. I've sent The Navigation emails with no one replying. The company who sent us the fine is impossible to get intouch with. We shall definitely never visit this establishment ever again. Be aware of parking charges before you call for a drink or meal!

Very pleasant lunch spot. Good food nicely served at a reasonable price. The outside seating was nice in the sunny weather.

We found the service was a bit slow in clearing table after mains and then taking afters order was slow and mistakes on the orders happened when it should not have. But in saying that we all enjoyed the place and the food.

Frankly hard to find any fault here on a recent stop. Really friendly and helpful staff, possibly one of the best fish ‘n chips (terrific flaky white cod, brilliant chunky chips. Special was lamb shank, served with garlic mash and mange tout which were excellent - fresh, crisp. Short wine list of very acceptable wines by the glass. Marstons on draught. Very well worth going out of your way, lovely location on canal ad the well!

The pub is in a scenic spot & has lots of character. The staff are friendly but seemed unused to special dietary requirements. The food was average & I was still hungry afterwards. Also didn't like the ticket I got demanding £100 for the car park. I didn't put enough on by 20mins so be careful, not a relaxing meal.

Food took an hour to arrive and was luke warm on arrival. Most of the food was cooked from frozen. The worst Sunday lunch I have ever had in a restaurant. Had to ask 4 times for glass of wine. The lovely young staff try their very best however the management are clearly clueless and the chefs unable to cook very well.

Shocking Avoid We ordered food (2 x chips) After 30 minutes we asked at the bar where our food was ??? To be told there is an hour wait for food ! ... which we replied we was not advised when we placed our order... after 1 hour and 15 minutes we went to ask at the bar again to see where our food is ?? (2 x chips) to be advised that the food has been sent out and it must of gone to a wrong table !!! What is the point of giving a table number if your staff issue food to any one / table they want.. Absolute shocking

Stopped by fro lunch at a Pub we have been to a few times, as usual Food & Drinks very good, staff were excellent, well worth a visit, we will be back.

We used to love meeting here for lunch but won’t be going anymore. The food is over priced and the menu limited, the service we received was so slow and when we asked for the dessert menu the server didn’t understand. Then a further delay in trying to get the bill then today l have received a parking penalty, if the service was better l wouldn’t have to pay £60 .

We went for my 70th birthday and the whole experience was disappointing. No record of the booking even though I had a confirmation email. The chicken and chorizo kebab was almost inedible, dry chicken, rubbery chorizo , wet and soggy barely cooked flatbread. Said that they would report my comments to the kitchen but nothing could be done about it. Our drinks were just left on the bar so eventually I went and fetched them myself. When I tried to pay with a gift QR code no one seemed to know what to do with it. I was initially told that because the meal cost less than the value on the card it couldn’t be used, eventually got the manager involved but he was no better and ended up taking photos of the voucher to send to head office.I also told him about the poor quality of the food and was told it was their best seller,he didn’t say if anyone ever ordered one a second time. All in all it really spoiled what should have been a special birthday meal. Won’t be going back in a hurry.

Four of us had the fish and chips. Some of the worst fish chips we have ever had. The batter was very dark, thick, hard and overcooked. The fish was cod and very dry. The fish looked like it had just been thrown on top of a few chips. Very disappointing.

Once again we have new management, but not alot changes in fact it gets worst, the roof still leaks despite a 300k make over, you can't lock the toilet doors,the gutters are never cleaned, and most of all they keep running of beers wine etc. What the hell is going on, oh the prices keep going up

Appalling experience and pricing. I had ordered Hunters chicken which was priced around £15.29 so was expecting a decent size portion. Once received the portion was unacceptable and for a child. Was not worth the price It was also annoying that they didn’t have apple juice so couldn’t order the Nojito. Instead ordered Pepsi Max. Once bill arrived I was charged £5.75 for the Nojito when in fact I had a Pepsi Max. Seems the staff are not very trained well and could have informed of this upon ordering. Overall a bad experience and will definitely not be returning

Lovely family friendly & dog friendly pub , fast service and really delicious tasting food! The service was excellent as well!

I had the cheese, leek pie which was well cooked and tasty I enjoyed it!The curry looked delicious and the person who had fish & chips said the portion was very generous. The view was nice onto the canal and there was a relaxed family atmosphere.The restaurant was spacious and seems dog friendly which is nice.My only criticism would be the limited vegetarian options; only salad or the curry as other options.

A warm welcome from the manager on entry . Great service from Fin , always smiling and a great personality and nothing was to much trouble. Fantastic rib eye steaks cooked to perfection, well presented . Compliments to chef. Managed to squeeze in a salted caramel desert ( had to share ) and was so impressive . Loved our visit and will be returning. One negative need a light above Car park machine .. Certainly Improved over the past 18 months , back to being a place we will visit more regularly

It's was my first time there, I have lived in Northampton for 8 yrs always drove passed and never went in. From now on I will go in more. Had a really great meal there today. It has a lovely feeling inside . Service was great aswell very homely approach, loved talking to their customers. Shame canal was being renovated and cleaned.

Just had a lovely roast lunch. The young lady keeley who served us was very polite and very helpful. There was a second lady called Amy who was also very polite and helpful. Would definitely come for a roast/lunch again. Food was very yummy 😋

Lovely spot on the canal for a work lunch. Steak and blue cheese sandwich was delicious and served hot and cooked perfectly rare, just how I asked. A plus is there are lots of nooks and crannies to be able to escape the hum drum and get some work done.

Very small portions and prices have gone up. So very poor value for money compared to other locals. We will not be back and we usually went a couple of tests a month.

Me and my partner have eaten at the nav a couple times in the past, however, never in the winter. Upon arrival, I was stunned at how freezing cold the pub was and we had to sit in our coats for the entirety of the meal. Also upon arrival. Our young waitress who showed us to our table and dealt with us for the rest of the evening was lovely, and also freezing cold (we wish we could have offered her a coat). We then sat and ordered our food. Our starters came first and they were abysmal. Although hot, they were bland, and the portion sizes were shocking, even for starters. This didn’t leave us looking forward to the mains. When said mains arrived, I had a burger, and my partner had fish and chips. The burger was horribly under seasoned and the bun was stale. Not to mention the tomato inside was soggy and tasted off. The chips that came with it were generally okay, but the portion size made me feel hard done by. The fish and chips were brutal. The batter was pretty much burnt in some areas, while soggy in other areas. The lemon on top of the fish was also browning and clearly not fresh. The chips at least were consistent… Consistently stingy, as the portion size again was pretty pathetic. They also forgot the Tartar sauce, however, the lovely waitress quickly fetched some for us. We originally planned for a 3 course meal, however, after being left with a sour taste in our mouths, we barely managed two. Finally, the drinks were overpriced. My wife had a white wine, while I had a lager which tasted particularly flat. This place was decent last summer, however has went downhill massively and I would strongly recommend no one gives it the time of day. If you happen to be in the area, try the boat just across the bridge instead. To summarise, the staff who served were lovely and were strongly let down by the kitchen and quality of food. I feel sorry for them having to serve that to people with a straight face.

Nice ambience but cold 🥶 and food very average sadly. The sirloin steak was quite grisly throughout and just a couple of cherry tomatoes and a mushroom on the side. Not good value for money - sorry

Went to Navigation with the whole family for Xmas Day Lunch. Both the meal and the service from our young waiter was excellent. He went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble.
