The best restaurants serving British food in Trent Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

Called in to see if they were serving food after a walk along the river, late afternoon so was not hopeful. However, the interior was welcoming with the log burner lit and staff were friendly. A limited menu on offer as I believe it is under new management but happy with the choices available. Husband said it was the best burger he’d had in a while and the pie was very tasty. Our dogs were also made welcome and given a water bowl. Lovely view out the window. Would definitely visit again, thank you.

Well run village pub with outstanding service and food. Attractive interior with a good mix of seating for drinks and conversation or restaurant. 4 local beers on hand pump and other keg beers. Food is interesting, well prepared: and freshly cooked. Timely service but not rushed and very reasonably priced for this level of quality.. The staff try very hard to make your stay as good as possible. We have been on three or four occasions over the last few months and everything has been good with a consistent standard. absolutely nothing not to like. It is deservedly popular so you may take a risk if you want food without booking .
