The best restaurants serving British food in Littleover Derby East Midlands

After friends were always telling us to try here we finally went and we will definitely be regulars now. The food was lovely and my husband said it was the best pie he had ever had. The staff were lovely and it was a relaxing atmosphere. Could not fault it.

Well what a sad review to write. The team have been pulled apart under the closure terms, many of which have been made redundant from a career they have worked in for decades. Until the news it has always been great food and great service. Understandable that they slipped a bit given the circumstances. Thank you all for your years of service to us all. All the best for the whole team for the future. Derby will miss The Mallard!

Friendly welcome, which was great, but they didn't have the meal I wanted and failed to mention there was an hour's wait for food until we asked where ours was. The people who ordered just before us finished their meal before we got ours, and to add insult to injury, we saw others getting their meals before us as well. When the food came, it was pretty good with the exception of slightly hard peas and tough-to-cut chicken. We didn't complain, as we'd had a refund by then.
