Great local pub I nip in weekly foods always been great it’s a lovely chilled pub and the staff are sound a good all rounder

Food took a while to come out as the place was very busy but when it did arrive it was well worth the wait, we had the rib beef Sunday dinner, it was hot and tasty and the beef rib melted in your mouth . Would definitely eat there again

Staff here are lovely and place has a good ambience. Have eaten here many times before and whilst not corden bleu always acceptable. Tonight not so good ordered the beef rib new addition to the menu. Horrible full of fat and salt. Partner ordered the posh fish and chips. Mainly consisted of burnt batter. Very disappointed. Manager did offer us 20% off the bill However will not return

Useful place to visit close the the Derby Mickleover Hotel. A true Ember Inn pub with a varied menu and nice ambiance. Food was nice and we had 3 courses served with a smile by good quality staff.

We visit here a couple times a month and we have never had a bad experience. The staff are super friendly & the service is great, the food is really nice and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is really cosy and chilled. Haven’t got anything bad to say about this place

Service was excellent, drinks arrived very quickly after ordering on their app. After ordering our meals, (Fish and chips for me and steak and ale pie for my wife) these also arrived promptly. Both meals were very good, chips in particular were great. Only one small negative point was the choice in desserts was disappointing. Especially as it is currently outside dining a hot pudding would have been preferred, either Apple pie and custard or a sticky toffee pudding.

We were greeted by a lovely host, who ran us through the covid rules and all about how to order through the app, we were shown round to the garden where our friend was waiting for us. The garden looked refreshed and bright, they had a new outdoor temporary cover which is great for outside drinking and dining.We used the app with ease and bought several lovely refreshing pints. The first round was served by a lady, who made us feel very welcome and was super friendly she was wearing solar system lanyard which I thought was very cool. The second round was delivered by a charming gentleman, who easily persuaded us to try the 2for1 cocktails which were made to perfection. We ordered a burger and some starters and extras to share, the food was amazing and with such a quick service. I would highly recommend this place just on the staff only! The atmosphere was great all round and we will definitely be back in soon.

The staff were extremely friendly under the circumstances of being so busy, our host was very informative and told us all about the rules of our visit etcThe staff were very busy but kept us Informed which was nice, as they said they had technical issuesWe visited family near by and decided it looked like a nice place for a pint, it was!We had 2 lovely burgers which were cooked to perfection, our young waiter was very friendly, we enjoyed several cocktails delivered by a bouncy female member of staff and we stayed for several more pints. So nice to be back in the pubs again, me and my husband believe the staff deserve a pat on the back as I worked in the service industry for many years and know how hard it can be under such stress.

Great service and a much welcomed opening. Waiting months for a pint rather focusses the mind to the glass in hand. While enjoying a couple of pints a few days after the pub reopened I was impressed how the staff were coping with a difficult scenario for them. The service via an app works well for customers. The two young women serving food and drinks and the guy on the door were all splendid. I’ve only visited a couple of times before lockdown as had just moved to Littleover. I will be back. Thanks for making my first pint of Doombar so enjoyable.

We visited here today for a birthday, the sun was out and we were looking forward to a few drinks and food here which we had pre booked.On arrival we were told we HAD to download the ember inns app to do track and trace, ( told there wasnt a nhs one tho as we left we were told there was ) and if we wanted to we could order via the app too, this wasnt a problem, but my phone for some reason couldnt get any signal hardly ( network playing up ) so the app took a long time to download and struggled to order ( took 15 mins to order a drink ). We got our drinks and i asked the waiter if next time i could pay cash ( which we actually wanted to do anyway ) as the phones were playing up, i was told no, they would rather not have cash and they are to busy to serve me they would only use the app, even though i tried to explain the problem.We struggled on and looked at ordering food, the menu was VERY limited, we couod either have.. gammonBeef pieA saladA burger Hunters chicken.Fish and chips was unavailable( no idea why but it was only 2.45pm so id be shocked if sold out )We ordered a chicken burger and a gammon, there was no garnish or anything and it looked like it had just been chucked on a plate and only a few chips,The gamon came with peas but it tasted a bit undercooked.Was really looking forward to today as weve been here on numerous occasions before lockdown and enjoyed but ended up leaving after 2 drinks and food Staff were unhelpful and food wasnt great.Shame as it used to be great here but seems to have gone downhill.

Enthusiastic and friendly staff even with the high demand on the first day back. We were greated by a friendly gentlemen, we were taken through all the new steps put in place and how to order via the app. The garden looked lovely, there was a bit of a wait for things but that was to be expected with it being so busy, which the staff explained how hard everyone was working inside, both my servers (one with purple hair and one had a ponytail) were very friendly and full of energy buzzing around trying to help as many people as possible.Our food was amazing, that we added on and had extras and desserts!Glad to have this pub back open and we can't wait to visit again.

I just went in and the smell was the nicest smell a pub could! (as of roast chicken and stuff) I sat down and a lady took my order, one of the best service i've ever had at a pub. It took a little while for the food but they're were quite a lot of people there anyway.

I know pubs are trying hard to stick to the regulations around coronavirus.The Hollybrook has all these measures in place. I understand there was an issue with the payment machine when we visited which meant customers had to pay at the bar.I was quite anxious to see staff allowing people to bo to the bar without replacing their facemasks. This has cost other pubs dearly in fines. Just a bt more care needed right to the end of the day.

We visited the Hollybrook an the evening of the 15th October and we had a very pleasant experience. A special mention to the young man who helped us with the ordering via the App, he was very patient and explained everything in detail. The food, wine and beer was all very good and I thought good value for money, especially the steak and wine special offer. I would definitely recommend but one word of advice the chef seems to slightly over cook the steaks, so if you want medium rare order rare and so on, other than that I would thoroughly recommend

I have been coming to the Holllybrook for a while and there is a reason I keep coming back. The ambience is amazing and the food is second to none in Derby. The service is spectacular. I forgot his name but the front of house gentlemen with the beard was EXTREAMLY welcoming and good at his job. He was polite, on the ball with recommendations and made us aware of COVID regulations. He is the reason for this review. He always remembers my orders and goes above and beyond for the customer - a true credit to the Hollybrook.

4 of us Ate in the Hollybrook yesterday, we had 2 x Sunday roasts, a steak and the Burger, with regards to the roasts I can’t honestly remember the last time we had such a poor meal, everything had that “convenient prepared” feel about it, in a fryer from frozen if you know what I mean, the potatoes weren’t edible due to not being able to cut them ! But it was the flies that most put us off, we were literally wafting them away, so much so I had to ask the waiter, poor chap didn’t know quite what you say, definitely will not be going back which disappoints me as my son has recently moved into the area ☹️

It used to be better here, might have been an off night but the food was very average. Decor is getting a bit worn now. Quite a few of the patrons were a bit on the scruffy side for a Saturday night, it used to be a bit smarter here. Staff were friendly, typical good Derby folk. I'll give it another go when I'm back in the area this Autumn.

My first visit to The Hollybrook was nothing to go crazy about. The food was ok. I didn't come away thinking 'i really enjoyed that' and I can't say I will be rushing back. After being greeted by a member of staff who explained the covid procedures in place, we chose a table outside in the large beer garden. This is the first pub I have been to post-lockdown where the menus haven't changed to disposable ones. My partner said the guy in front of him at the bar sneezed all over his menu, so I can only hope they have a thorough cleaning process in place!In terms of the food on offer the starters are pretty limited. There are only 6 options, none of which tempted me, so I skipped a starter. The rest of the menu is your standard pub grub, nothing to make it stand out from the crowd. Similarly with the desserts. There were no crumbles or pies or selection of sundaes on offer. Normally we are spoilt for choice but this wasn't the case here. The food is reasonably price with starters £4-£5, mains £8-£12, desserts around £5 and sides are all £1.99. We ordered the calamari, ribs, fish and chips, side of veg, treacle sponge and chocolate brownie. The food came in good time. Like I said, it was ok. The fish was nice enough. The chips were your standard pub chips and, as usual, I would have liked a lot more mushy peas. My partner said the amount of coleslaw he got with his ribs was pretty pointless. There was no more than a small mouthful. He also thought the amount of chips was a little on the mean side. This seemed to be a running theme as he said the portion sizes have reduced considerably since his last visit. We both felt disappointed with the visit, so i can't see us returning any time soon.

First visit to a pub since they opened again and I was very reassured by the measures taken place to keep me safe. The staff were friendly and very helpful explaining everything to me. Ordered the steak which was cooked beautifully, so I can definitely recommend the food too. Hope to visit again soon!

Was really disappointed with a couple of customers sat opposite my table they were complaining about moving plates to another table in order to maintain social distancing rules, the service here was lovely and they were really apologetic towards the customers, explaining the new policy they have to follow but the customer was really ungrateful and was having none of it. The staff here are polite and handled the situation the correct way, would highly recommend coming here for food and drink

Lovely friendly pub, helpful and friendly bar staff. The food was really good, hot and well presented and quick service. All covid rules are in place and a very secure environment. We will definitely be back.

Decided to have a meal this time, was not disappointed at all. The food was delicious and the service was fast, our waitress was very friendly and thorough. We stopped for more drinks than planned as we were having such a nice time. The bar staff were all lovely, such a great pub.

I love coming here. The staff are friendly, helpful and will accommodate any needs you may have. The food is great with an excellent choice. The Hollybrook is cozy and clean and good value for money, what more do you need.

Only stopped in for quick drink with my partner after a meal at a friends house, ended up staying for several hours. My partner enjoyed the gins from the festival, I had a few ciders then a lovely whisky chosen by the bar staff with bright coloured hair, who loves whisky like me. The bar staff were very friendly and funny including the girl with blonde hair. All in all a great night, will be back again.

Visited on Saturday, around 1pm Table of 3 Very nice pub instead, very cosy and comfortable. The service was fast and the staff were very friendly and efficient.I ordered the vegan burger, which was great! I was told that the chips weren’t veggie or vegan. They do have a separate menu for vegan and veggie options, so there are plenty of options available. My partner had the pie, which he enjoyed, however there could of been more filling.The food was really good. Would recommend a visit here.

Popped into the Hollybrook for a bite to eat and I was not disappointed! I had the hunters chicken and it was cooked to perfection and a very generous portion size. The staff were friendly, came to check on my meal. I can also recommend the house ale, twilighter, was a very crisp pint. Thanks, will be back!

I ordered the chicken, bacon and avocado salad (at lunchtime today) and noticed as soon as it arrived that the chicken (which was served in slices) was pink inside in places! Also the avocado was brown and mushy and looked extremely unappetising. I complained and handed my plate over for my meal to be replaced. The guy who took it apologised for the chicken and told me 'the avocado always looks like that, to be fair'. I have eaten a lot of avocado in my time and I know that it certainly doesn't come out of its skin looking like that! - I suspect it had been pre-prepared and left out, for it to be so brown and soft. By the time my replacement salad arrived, my friend had almost finished her meal. This time, the chicken was cooked, but the avocado was just as brown and soft - I tried a small bit, but left the rest, as it tasted horrible. The salad was also uninspiring - soft, flavourless tomatoes, almost no (also flavourless) dressing and where was the bulgur wheat? As he had promised, the guy who served me returned to ask how my meal was this time and I just said 'Fine' because I didn't want to wait for another, equally bad one to be served up. Very disappointing all round and also very worrying to be served food that could cause food poisoning.and bSalad leaves with tabbouleh salad,Topped with chargrilled chicken, back bacon, sliced avocado drizzled in honey and mustard dressing.

Visited yesterday for lunch. Both myself and friend ordered a Chili Chicken Wrap. The wrap was lovely as was the salad but where was the chicken? My friend had two small pieces in half the wrap and one piece in the other half. I had two small pieces in half and none in the other half. (When I say small pieces they weren’t as big as a chicken nugget).I would have complained there and then but my friend was going into hospital and I didn’t want to heighten her anxiety by causing a scene.The waiter was extremely helpful and courteous. The price was right if only we had chicken in the wrap.

Called in with the wife for a bit of lunch in the week as we were both off work. The pub was fairly quiet. The girl that served us was lovely. We both had gammon, 2 fried eggs and chips and it was excellent food as usual. Will be back soon.

First time visit and although a bit far for us normally it’s a very nice place.

Popped in here en route in the hope of getting a tasty Sunday lunch and we were sadly DISSAPOINTENTED.

Called here on a wet, cold day seeking a warm environment to enjoy a quick lunch. Disappointed. The room was cold (heated by one radiator) and although there was a large gas fire available the staff did not know how to turn it on! My sausage and mash with gravy was good but would have been better with a few peas on the plate and my wife would have preferred her meal to be more warm. Overall not impressed.

I loved our 1st visit so much I met a friend for lunch and again it was worth the trip. Friendly staff delicious food and a warm and welcoming fire to sit by. Just perfect!

Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere, everyone enjoyed the food. However I am gluten free and missed out on Yorkshire and stuffing for the first time.

I’d finally decided to give in my resignation and my best friend suggested we go to this establishment to celebrate her taking over my job.

Myself, my husband, parents and sister came for lunch Thursday day time, we was made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked in, my mother is also in a wheelchair and the ladies that were working were very accommodating for us, I also have a allergy and they were very professional about it ( they actually asked if anyone had any dietary requirements in our party - which you don't get in many places). The food was very enjoyable, and we even had desserts too, which were very good!  It was quite busy and the two ladies did very well to keep on smiling, and to continue to be attentive to ourselves and others around us. Thank you very much and we will definitely be back soon.

Not being from the area we called in at this restaurant as we were passing. It was Saturday night and although we had not booked we did manage to find a table. The menu is very varied with something for everyone's taste and budget. It is an order at the bar establishment and also you need to validate your parking. The food arrived promptly and my scampi, chips and peas was very hot and tasty. The portion size is good and it is good value for money. The staff were all friendly and helpful. As we were pushed for time we only had the one course although the desserts looked interesting. A good experience.

Taken out for a birthday lunch by a friend. Arrived early so had a drink whilst we waited for the resteraunt to open.. When we ordered the food was nicely cooked and piping hot

Visited here with my family for dinner. We got a warm welcome from the staff, nothing was too much trouble, it was our first visit and they explained how everything worked and we took it from there. Food was hot and delicious and served in a timely manner, we even had dessert as it was so good and they didn’t disappoint either. There was something for as all which can be quite tricky to please everyone! We will definitely be visiting again, top notch

Called in on a Saturday afternoon for a meal with the family. Friendly staff and good service. Two people had fish and chips, I had gammon eggs and chips. Two of us had desserts, caramel apple crumble with cream and chocolate brownie with ice cream. All delicious. Great value at under thirty quid. Will definitely be back.

Saturday night so very busy but didn't have long to wait for our meal . when it arrived the steaks were cooked perfectly.

We used to call here a lot but the food wasn't very good so stopped going. However thought we would give it another try so called yesterday lunchtime, with a friend. The girl behind the bar was very miserable no personality whatsoever. The food was as usual awful, my friend had scampi and chips not much to spoil on that but very average, I had lamb hot pot it was terrible it was a dried up mess and the veg wasn't much better the only good point was the dessert which was very nice we then had coffee well half a cup each actually, wont be coming again.

They have cameras in the car park that record your entry and fine you £85 if you forget to enter your car registration at the bar. I've had one of these notices and the staff have arranged for it to be cancelled. However, its best to keep your bar receipt with date and time and visit to prove you were there, just in case you forget to register your car.

Visited for lunch after a very stressful morning to be greeted by the rudest most miserable bar girl.Monosyllabic,unsmiling and very clearly unhappy or bored with her work.some one needs to explain to her that working in hospitality involves being hospitable.On the plus the lunch was very good and waitress very nice

We like to try different places for a quick meal and tried this place. We all really enjoyed it, nice venue, staff were excellent and friendly. The food prices were very good, portion sizes were fine for us but maybe small for some...for the price you can't complain. The quality of all our meals was absolutely fine, no complaints at all and on a par with another pub chain that charge nearly double. A little gem that we will use as a regular on our go to list. Don't let it slip,please!

I visited here with my 9 year old niece for tea on a Wednesday night. The menu had plenty of options for myself and for her. The food was brought quickly, we were checked on, the table cleared quickly. What I was really impressed with was the service by everyone I interacted with. I ordered my dishes and paid, and later decided to have deserts. I was charged as if I’d ordered from the set menu offer and was assured this was no inconvenience. I am very hard to please but this place really did surprise me.

We hold a meeting in the pub once a month and we generally have just hot or cold drinks . The car park is good and well sized and there are wooden tables and chairs outside for people to eat and drink at. There is a childs play area too that is safely bordered.

We live nearby so come about once a month for food. Staff are always friendly and efficient and the food is fine for the price you pay. Good range of drinks and the set menus are very good value.

We'd planned to stop here enroute to our holiday cottage because of its convenient location, thinking we could eat outside in the garden with our dog. In the event it was raining that day, so outside wasn't really an option. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take the dog inside. One point knocked off for that - the Brunning and Price chain of pubs welcomes dogs, so it's not an impossible ask.

Called on a Saturday evening, with our dog, to have a meal and drinks outside. We took one look at the glass topped tables and left. I have never seen such a disgusting, filthy state and wonder if this is an indication of the standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the rest of the establishment I will be reporting this to food standards at the City Council.

A group of around twenty went for lunch, the service was good, however one person had their meal delivered much later than the rest of our party. Food was tasty, all in all a good experience.

My other half and I were looking forward to a Sunday dinner here. We've eaten here before and the food has always been acceptable, but not today. We tried the Sunday Roast Dinner... big mistake. Firstly the trio of meats only had two, so had to ask for the 3rd. The meats were dry and almost unrecognisable. The roast potatoes were reheated, burnt in places, dry unedible garbage. The carrots were basically raw. Veg like rubber, gravy minimal and luke warm. Didn't get as far as the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, but the stuffing was tiny and bullet like. Couldn't taste the beef as I couldn't cut it. So gave up and sent it back. My partner did sample everything. Most of it was spat back out, but on the plus side, the Yorkie was edible, as were the pigs in blankets (but neither delicious) The attitude of the server was bordering on rude and there was two 'baby showers' going on in the pub, meaning I literally had to step over infants lying on the floor, and push past pushchairs placed directly in the path of getting to the toilet and out to the garden. I've been going to this pub for over 20yrs, and I've never felt as disappointed as I did today.

Its an easy to go place with a car park right next to the building and plenty of room inside. The food is standard pub food and the staff are helpful. Nothing outstanding but it does the job all the same.

Just had a fantastic meal at The Hollybrook. We had sirloin steak, done to perfection, no waste on it at all. The meal was hot, lovely chips, onion rings large mushroom and peas.The service was excellent. The waitress was extremely polite and the young man serving at the bar very efficient. Overall would highly recommend this place.

I like this pub. Not too busy, sat outside as the weather was nice! Lovely bar manager/bar staff! Service very quick & the food piping hot! Husbands gammon steak nice & thick, & the hunters chicken great! Good value for money! Will return very soon!.

Called in with the family for Sunday lunch. It is a nice quiet pub, the food was very good and well priced. Only £2 for a starter if you buy dinner. The staff were very good and attentive. Will be back.

Had a super evening, pleasant staff and not to noisy either, centred more around younger generation, the meal was hot and well cooked very little waiting time in between courses too. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, we will be returning.

Second visit here again very good staff helpful and pleasant food was lovely had a great liqueur coffee to finish nice ambiance not too busy would highly recommend

A group of 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children) attended this week around 5pm so it wasn't busy. Taking it in turns to order food we were both served quickly but my friend came back to the table and asked to see my receipt and question how much i had paid. We both had identical orders (from the fixed price menu), but her bill was more than mine.

Tuesday was a miserable wet morning and after attending a funeral, me and my friend needed a warm up and a lovely lunch.

Me and my family came for a Christmas dinner, Well what can I say.. it was superb! The portions were very generous, the team that was working was spot on and made us all feel welcome and went above and beyond to make our Christmas Day special.

We booked Christmas day lunch with family, 10 of us in total.

Having booked here for Xmas food on Xmas eve for 11 we were slightly disappointed, firstly they served starters, I had tomato soup with ciabatta bread, the soup arrived but after 10mins I had to ask for the bread! Then the main course turned up which was OK but the sausage was stone cold! I'd visit again but just for drinks!

So disappointed with the steak and gamon on my meal. Was as tough as old boots.

We have been visiting the Hollybrook Tavern, on an occasional basis, for several years. Today we were there to celebrate the birthday of my older brother. In the past, our experience of eating at this venue has been a bit hit and miss but never bad enough to stop us from returning. I am afraid that today’s visit will probably be our last.

Been to twice with my boyfriend, on our first visit my boyfriend ordered peri peri chicken wings which were burnt but edible and I had a burger which was also burnt but edible. Our recent trip was tonight, my boyfriend order the peri peri chicken wings for us both to share. A few of the wings were pink but again still edible, but majority were raw in the middle and one even had blood oozing out (the picture included wasn’t the worst one). We complained about the chicken, recieved a refund and was told they buy their chicken wings in bulk. Hadn’t I of noticed how raw the chicken was, we could’ve needed up seriously ill. Wouldn’t recommend going and certainly won’t be going back myself

Unacceptable, me and my girlfriend have eaten here twice, the first time, the wings I had and the burger she had were burnt to a crisp, the second time, the wings we shared were genuinely raw in the middle and watered down blood was oozing out...would you eat at a place like that?

Perfect place for all, versatile and caters for all. The staff are lovely, and hard working. Keep it up guys!

This was my first visit to this ecellent pubrant(pub/restutant) and wont be my last.

I took my son here for brunch, having looked online at the menu. This looked good with a favourite of mine available- Eggs Benedict with, of course, hollandaise sauce. It stated there was also complementary tea and coffee.

Just want to say how much I enjoyed the vegetarian toad in the hole from the latest menu, it was delicious! Top quiz night as always!

Have passed this place a few times, and thought what a lovely building. Finale got to try it out. Wish I had not bothered. Have been looking for a venue to have business lunches and to meet colleagues. This is not the place. food was inedible, told the girl who served us, and with a sarcastic smile offered me a drink, no apology, then was offered a desert, I declined due to the standard of the main, then she preceded to go and talk about us to her colleagues behind the bar, They both then came rushing over and grabbed our plates away, hitting one of us with the plates, with a smile on her face, not acceptable, What a shame that the food and customer service was below par, will not return and have also told colleagues that this is not the place we need to use, staff training needed and to be trained in customer service, Terrible service, the place was not even busy

Amazing Saturday morning brunch with family! Warm cosy fires! Two managers on duty really friendly and welcoming! Nice and clean pub! Couldn’t ask for much more on cold Saturday morning!

Well where to start? We have been visiting the Hollybrook off and on for over a decade but it’s not what it was. Long initial wait at the bar. My wife’s beer smelt sour and tasted off. Returned it and was replaced without issue but later noticed the pump was still being used! Lucky not much real ale was being sold - for obvious reasons. 2 burgers to eat. Didn’t have to wait too long but the food would have been better in McDonalds (I’m no fan of theirs). Little black bits on the chips and questionable quality meat. Not great value. Next time we’ll remember to pre book at our original choice of venue in Littleover village. Such potential to be a great local with a vast catchment area. Sadly not the best experience for us

We called in on a Monday afternoon for food as we had never been before. When we arrived we were very impressed with the setting of the place, it looked very homely and well furnished. We ordered food and noticed it took a little while to come, the place wasn't overly busy although they only had two young ladies on shift to cater for everyone.

Just visited the Hollybrook for Afternoon Tea, it was amazing and great value for money. The team were very professional and friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and we can’t wait to return.

Although a chain, this is a pleasant pub with plenty of character and friendly staff. There's lots of choice on the menu and the reasonably priced food is above average pub grub.

I brought our coach of Sunderland AFC football supporters In here to have some food and drinks before our football fixture against Burton Albion. This was our second visit and hopefully it won’t be our last. From the time of our arrival to our departure we had a great time. The beer was very good and breakfast equally as good, all served by a great staff managed by Kirsty. Shall definitely come back and would recommend to anyone in the area give Kirsty and her team a chance to provide a warm welcome, good craic, excellent range of food and beers. First class service from a first class team.

Always receive a good welcome both day and night, food is good and would always come here when driving past. No matter how how busy I have been greeted as a friend

Have visited here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The meals are always delicious and good sized portions. The staff are friendly and the pub has a nice laid back atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We came here last week with recommendation from a friend,we had to travel just over and hour to get there and was not disappointed at all the food looked fresh and well presented out out in good time we asked for the child meal to come as soon as possible and before we knew it here it was .The team there was very professional would recommend a visit and we shall be returning some time soon

Amazing pub! All the staff were very welcoming and accommodating for my needs they couldn’t have done more! The food was as described and tasted lovely. I only came in for some dinner but ended up staying all night, great atmosphere would highly recommend!!!

Massive Thank you to Kirsty and her beautiful team taking such good care of us at our family get together even my fussy little people left full and happy keen to return. The meals are incredible I highly recommend the pork belly and what great value evening set menu we even treated ourselves to pudding. Jeanette was on hand making a fuss of us all and was very knowledgeable when Dad gave her twenty questions on the cask ale range. We will back again soon. Thanks again♥️

Called in at the Hollybrook for a few drinks and a meal. We sat outside to enjoy the last of the heatwave. After getting the first drinks we sat at a glass topped table that was so dirty that the glasses were sticking to the table. On being served our second drinks, I asked if someone could come and clean our table. The barmaid came out and made a half hearted job of wiping the table, she didn't look happy that she had been asked to do this. We observed that tables were left with dirty plates long after the diners had left. These dirty plates were attracting wasps. I went to the toilets and found these to be smelly and dirty. One toilet cubicle had toilet paper all over the floor, while the other had a chipped seat.

We went as a family for a drink and some food. 2 of the 3 meals were fine but one of the meals /(the hunters chicken) was burnt. The chicken was black and you could not eat it. We did end up getting a refund for this one.
