Maze Grill Mayfair

West End, City of London,Westminster, >100£
24/12/2019: We came in the evening. Was really smelly, noisy, hot, nothing special about food. And slow service.
26/05/2019: This was simply amazing!! Every detail exquisite and moment spectacular! The food surpassed expectations.

The Anchor Line

Anderston / City, Glasgow City
05/04/2020: Booked for Sunday evening fo two.Arrived 10 minutes early and were shown straight to our table. The staff were very attentive and were helpful and smiled.Ordered Prawm Cocktail & Tuna Ceviche for starters and Lamb three ways plus Duck for our main courses.Starters arrived within 15 minutes and were great. Once we had finished our starters, our main courses arrived with 10 minutes. Both were very good.Shared a dessert.Overall, a very enjoyable meal with excellent service.Reasonably priced.Loved the decor and would definitely return.

The Savoy Grill

St James's, City of London,Westminster
27/06/2020: I have visited a few times for lunch and loved the food and service, plus it’s such a beautiful surrounding to have lunch
06/05/2020: We had a fabulous evening at The Savoy Grill, despite it being very, very, busy we were treated as though we were royalty. The staff are obviously highly trained in providing an exceptional dining experience and the atmosphere and food is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit, we will return.

Upstairs at The Grill

Chester City, Cheshire West and Chester, 30-45£
26/04/2020: We came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We were greeted by a very polite bunch of staff who recommended different drinks etc. When we were taken to our table we ordered shortly after, I always have my steak medium well (rump) and the staff were adamant I shouldn’t have it, trying to convince me to have a more expensive cut at a different cook. I appreciate the advice but after a while it got a bit boring listening to them trying to convince me otherwise - if I’m paying for it, and I like what I like then that’s what I’ll order, it came across as pretentious at that point. Nonetheless the meal was good, but expensive overall as you need to order sides too to make it a meal but I definitely recommend the triple cooked chips!
16/03/2020: Came for the second time this weekend. Once again and can not fault this place. We enjoyed the lunch menu which the prices are almost too good to be true. Food was fantastic, staff friendly, attentive but in no way over bearing. It will now be our go to place for a meal out. Highly recommend

Red's True Barbecue - Manchester

City Centre, Manchester
21/04/2020: Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Always find myself craving your food. WILL BE BACK SOON for more!
20/04/2020: Food here is amazing, well priced and very very tasty. Come here with my partner and every time we come there are great specials to keep the menu exciting. Its on codeapp for all industry people also :)

Warwick, City of London,Westminster, >100£
: Our farewell in London was held at this Turkish restaurant with tasteful decor, exquisite service, quality food, varied and very tasty, well presented and served very quickly. Briefly wonderful, we loved it and we went out to a little over 30 pounds (2 people)
16/03/2020: This is probably going to upset a few faithful followers but I can only go on what I find.We love our Mezze and Turkish flavours but this was a long way from expectation. It is indeed a lovely venue with welcoming staff but that is where the positives end for us.We shared the Mezze starter which was nice enough although the portions were very small indeedI had the chicken and meat dish in a tomato spicy sauce. It all tasted like the meat had been precooked and just dolloped on top. No rice or anything else just a big pile of meats in a quite uninspiring sauce. We opted for the calamari as a main and it just came on it's own and wasn't anything special.I've eaten in many Turkish restaurants all over the UK and have never been disappointed but I certainly wouldn't return or recommend this one.Sorrry!

Gaucho Piccadilly

West End, City of London,Westminster, >100£
19/11/2019: Our family of 4 arrived there on a weekday evening after reading some positive review but was kind of disappointed. The food is average, one medium rare steak came out as well done, the male waiting staff was kind enough to replace it but without showing any regrets. The restaurant is busy, very busy instead that we need to remind him 3 times to have another bottle of beverage. The bill came but with some extra item we did not order. Talked to our waiting staff again and he did show you the kind of " you got me" face... Not sure if this is their common practice though.
17/11/2019: Some friends and I went to the Bottomless brunch, having been to the restaurant in the City and had a great time. After being seated for 40 minutes, we FINALLY got a drink and had to almost beg for the attention of our waiter there after! In all, we probably got about 45 minutes of drinks, and so of course we didn’t want to pay the service charge, and asked to speak to the maitre’d... well, I have never encountered someone so rude or defensive in my entire experience of dining at ‘premium’ establishments. Not once did he apologise until we actually called him out on the lack of apology, by which point it meant nothing, as we had to coax it out of him. I was genuinely shocked at his lack of customer service skills. Such a shame, as Gaucho for me is usually fab, but that person in particular, has totally tainted my view of the establishment, and I definitely will not be coming here in any capacity again.

Bishop's, Lambeth
06/04/2020: the experience was shocking... we went in the bar area for a drink and nibbles, but the staff was completely disinterested, with the managers busy trying drinks behind the bar rather then looking after the guests. The most disgraceful thing came from this guy Ergyun, that proposed to us a free round of drink in exchange of a positive review with his name stated on it.At the end, we didn't accept the free drink, but we wrote the review.....
04/04/2020: I have always been to Skylon mainly for a little me time, where I treat myself to their unique fun cocktails and sometimes a side dish. Everytime I go there their customer service is professional yet friendly, very attentive and cater to your needs. I had a pleasure to be served by a guy called Ergyun who is not only helpful in choices of cocktails but kindly on the house given me a dessert to compliment a particular cocktail I have ordered. He was good in assisting and friendly and made my experience in Skylon a welcoming one. Thank you.

Grill on the Corner

Anderston / City, Glasgow City, >100£
19/03/2020: Due to Covid-19, we had to change our 30th Wedding Anniversary plans. We were in Glasgow and decided to eat at the Grill on the Corner for our celebration dinner. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant wasn't busy due to circumstances but this did not affect the whole dining experience. The meal was excellent. The waitress' recommendation for the wine was perfect for our dinner. We chatted to a waiter and when we explained the reason for our visit, he came back with 2 glasses of Kiri Royale courtesy of the restaurant, which we thought was a lovely touch. We also had desserts and a coffee and we couldn't fault anything.I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Glasgow. The staff were a credit to the restaurant and the food was exceptional.
Daher insgesamt empfehlenswert!

St Mary's, Islington, 20-30£
11/03/2020: I smoke a fair bit of meat, and I appreciate good smoking. The steaks were great, the service excellent, and the dessert.. phenomenal. Eat the steak, have the sticky pudding.
29/02/2020: Tasty beef tacos, good service but the ‘market fish’ in the menu was not good. The place was packed and noisy so you have to keep shouting if you want to have a conversation at the table.

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of, <20£
15/04/2020: SO delicious! I didn’t really expect to get good BBQ in Edinburgh, but this place did not disappoint. We got the pulled pork sandwiches and tried the haggis add on, one of ours even had apple sauce on it! No matter what combo of flavors we had, it was all very good.
01/04/2020: Great size portions for the price, got 2 medium size pork sandwiches, one with BBQ one with chili sauce. The verdict is you HAVE to get meal with the chili sauce... Amazing.

Favorite Chicken & Ribs

Old Town, Stevenage
02/02/2020: Tasty and quick never been disappointed, parking can be a bit awkward but worth a visit for small hassle .
29/01/2020: Quick delivery even to the next town along the food was piping hot and the order was correct even though we placed a detailed order. We were very impressed and will definitely be ordering from here again soon.

Dickens Inn

St Katharine's and Wapping, Tower Hamlets
22/12/2019: Hele leuke locatie om eens heen te gaan. Aan de jachthaven midden in London aan de voet van de Towerbridge. Eten in het ala card restaurant is erg goed.
22/12/2019: Grand pub in converted warehouse. Big loud and brash. Quick service at bar by card or cash. Good selection of beer

Gylly Beach Cafe

Falmouth Gyllyngvase, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
17/04/2020: We arrived to the beach for sunrise. The beach is super clean and is a really nice, calm place. We headed to the Gylly Beach Cafe when it first opened for some breakfast and were not disappointed. The menu is great with a wide choice of options. The drinks also a huge selection (spirits and beers/wines included) The breakfast was BEAUTIFUL. The food was just outstanding. (There’s nothing more I can really say about the food- it was soo good you need to try it) My partner had the sausage patty?! And said it tasted amazing. The drinks were good- orange juice was a little pricey but that’s okay. The service was great, the staff seemed happy to be there. The interior has a really great feel to it, and the outside area is absolutely lush- I’d recommend sitting out there if possible. The view is beautiful and it’s defiantly a hidden gem.The loos were okay, not amazing but standard. I would highly recommend here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even for chilled drinks.
22/03/2020: Had the Duchy game steak burger and the super crunch chips.Overall it was a nice enough burger with the vegetables being fresh and crisp, going especially well with the tangy home made ketchup. As for the bun it was wonderfully soft and buttery. Yet ultimately the star of the show, the patty, did not have the advertised full wholesome steak flavour. Instead it was a little dry in areas which let down the experience. For a £9 beef burger (£8.50 without the cheese) I was a little disappointed. As for the chips they reminded me of classic English chips you would have at the beach with a beer battered fish. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I would think that “super crunch” is stretching it a little bit.

The Smugglers Cove

Riverside, Liverpool
27/05/2020: Before our beautiful country was closed down by the coronavirus visited upon us my twin brother Stephen and I had a day out in our wonderful city taking in the great sites our city has to offer and enjoying the great pubs, bars and restaurants that Liverpool is justifiably famous for and a visit to the Royal Albert Dock complex combines both ,world famous architecture and great pubs and The Smugglers Cove was a great pub we visited on a Saturday afternoon. I love the look of this pub ,a dark ,cosy interior, multi roomed,a nautical theme, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar that dominates the main room, theres also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a great pub to unwind in .We were here on a Saturday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of their beers we both opted to have a pint each of Birra Moretti, this superb Italian beer was served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was exceptional, Birra Moretti beer is such a crisp, malty ,well balanced lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink,a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of, while sipping our beers we already had our next beer picked out and again we chose a continental beer and went for a pint of Amstel beer each, again we were served two delicious beers,a crisp, light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer that when served iced cold as in this pub was just a joy to drink,a really good Durch beer indeed. On this visit I cannot really comment on the meals as we were here only for beers but I have ate here on many occasions over the years and the meals are just superb, proper pub grub, hearty and filling. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Smugglers Cove is easy to locate in the Albert Dock .Opening hours are;Monday to Wednesday,Midday till Midnight. Thursday, Midday till 1am.Friday & Saturday, Midday till 2am. Sunday, Midday till Midnight. A great pub,if your planning a trip to the Albert Dock most definitely well worth a visit.
08/04/2020: I was a bit unsure about whether or not I would like here as after reading the pirate them review, that it would be a bit gimmicky, but I was so wrong. We visited here on a sunday afternoon and were gutted we hadn't found it sooner on our trip. I had baked camembert topped with seeds and crudites while my husband had long prawn and chorizo. Both were packed full of flavour and so fresh. For mains I had the hanging pork skewer which although nice was a touch on the dry side. My husbands Jamaican chicken though so juicy and cooked to perfection. For 2 x starter, 2 x mains, 1 x side order and 4 x pints it was only £54 which was by far, the best value meal we had in Liverpool both for taste and money.
