The best restaurants in Wales

It is a very nice place I wish they had kept the pool table though 😞

We visited the Black Lion whilst on holiday and staying in Ystrad Meurig. The pub has a lovely traditional feel and the staff and locals were very welcoming. We ordered pizza from the menu and they were beautifully cooked, tasty and very well presented. Well worth a visit.

I no longer enjoy the food from here. The quality has dropped significantly, especially the chips. Only the prices have gotten "better."

Highly recommend this gem of a pub for Sunday lunch. Our Family of four arrived at the The Farmers Arms after a long journey back from North Wales. The meals were absolutely amazing! Both Adult and Children’s sized portions area available. Beef, Pork or Lamb or a nut roast were on the menu. Prices were clearly shown for one, two or three courses. We decided on beef and pork the meals were fantastic, served piping hot, the meat melted in your mouth, potatoes were tasty as was the gravy (extra gravy was served in a boat) vegetables broccoli, peas, carrots and cauliflower cheese were brought in serving dishes to help yourself all piping hot and cooked to perfection. The staff serving were very friendly and the toilets clean - cannot recommend a stop to eat at this pub enough - would give more stars if available!

Stopped in for food as we were passing through the area. Service was great ,no wating around for staff,staff were friendly and polite . If in the area, I would definitely go back . Lovely clean place ,toilets best I've seen .

We needed somewhere welcoming to eat an early dinner prior to going to a show elsewhere in the town, Vasco is excellent. Perhaps more of a bistrot than a restaurant, it is relaxed and welcoming. The food is authentic, freshly prepared and wonderful. We shared a cheese and meat platter to start, followed by the mixed meats skewers. Washed down with a bottle of Portugese white, the bill came to an incredibly reasonable £66. Only problem was that service was slow - long wait for the starter, so we had to rush our food a little. Next time we'll pace that better ... and there will be a next time

Pork scratchings weren’t the best though had a nice bevvy on the balcony with a sea view. Not too bad for a swift drink……..

Absolutely delicious breakfast and came for lunch too. Beautiful building and gorgeous location. Highly recommended!

Our final dinner from this outlet, as good as ever. What a great run comes to an end, all the best for the future.

Stunning food and incredibly reasonably priced

Amazing time spent here in the sun this afternoon. Nia and Taylor were so attentive and friendly. The best time spent with a friend introducing her to the Mumbles. 100% recommend and will be returning (regularly)!
