Obviamente un lugar popular pero mi experiencia de desayuno no fue la mejor! Café bien, pero el croissant parecía solo medio cocido. ¡No estaba seguro si era una costumbre portuguesa antigua o un descuido de la panadería! Debería haber probado la especialidad portuguesa, que estoy seguro que habría sido excelente.

Absolutely loved Mesen & would highly recommend. We were in town for a long weekend and went back a second time for the Sunday roast as a family after such a great dinner the night before, and it didn’t disappoint! The mussels, steak, pork, lamb tacos plus all the veggies/roast trimmings were all delicious. Good sized portions, plus brilliant cocktails & wine selection too. We didn’t have space for desert, but the basque cheesecake looked top notch.

So frustrating when businesses don't update hours or close early. Arrived 4.40 on a sunny afternoon and closed. Luckily your competitors were open so wouldn't give your co preferential treatment in future.

We had an emergency stop over at the Ivybridge on the night of 5 April 2025, due to engine failure on the Stena ferry. Our planned ferry crossing at 2pm, ended with the sailing being abandoned, and with my family mostly reversing off the ferry at 10pm ish. Total nightmare. My son managed to book 2 rooms, and we all had a well deserved restful night, before leaving in the morning to make our way to Pembroke for the Irish Ferries service. Delicious breakfast, the best I have had in a long time. I would definitely stay again in similar circumstances. Thank you both.

Can’t remember the last time I had such a delicious burger. The flavours were so well balanced, the cheese is perfect grilled, the Welsh meat is so tasty and flavourful and the buns are so soft and pillowy We had the barti ddu and the grav. I can’t wait to go back to try the mutton burgers. Truly a gem this place!

Lugar encantador, nunca he estado antes y posiblemente volvería ya que el café era sabroso y el servicio de todos los miembros del personal menos uno era atento y educado. Debo hacer todo lo posible para escribir esto, ya que me siento muy fuerte acerca del buen CS. Esta joven camarera no era más que grosera y agresiva, acusándonos a mi mamá y a mí de tomar la mesa de una dama cuando no sabíamos nada al respecto. Aparentemente su colega nos lo había dicho, ¿no está segura de por qué su colega nos habría dado esta información, ya que ya estábamos sentados? Éramos 2 personas ocupando un 4 plazas, ya que estaba ocupado, nos mudamos por esta razón. Solo nos movimos ya que había otras personas moviéndose de otro 2 plazas al mismo tiempo, ya que había visto entrar a una mujer solitaria. Sugeriría en el futuro obtener los hechos correctos, no se acerque a pagar a los clientes con esta manera y lenguaje. No hay disculpas de esta camarera pero de su colega con una comprensión mucho mejor del servicio al cliente.

Very tired public house, attended a wake for an old friend, personally wouldn't use it again, my honest opinion.

This is mine and my partners 3rd time coming here wish we could review every visit but alas we can’t this time was as good as ever with amazing food amazing drinks and great staff. I had the pork ribs and my partner had the “fat boy” burger we can definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to go out for a good meal in a little hidden gem. ONCE YOU HAD MAGS YOU WONT WANT TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR RIBS OR BURGERS.

Had my 50th birthday party over the bank holiday weekend. Venue was great, service was excellent and food was fab with a mix of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Staff friendly and did everything to make the night a success, they even went out to buy more Kahula when they ran out! Great hosting by Josh, he made the night go swimmingly and was really friendly and organised, a great party. Thanks all 🥳

I enjoyed every morsel I ate here. It’s a limited menu - 3 starters and 3 mains - but that doesn’t matter because everything is so delicious and well balanced. There’s also quite a wide selection of ‘nibbles’ which include items like oysters and rabbit on toast. We started with an amazing raw mackerel dish plus the oysters and rabbit on toast. The combination of flavours was just superb. For mains we had a beautifully cooked venison and very lightly cooked cod with mussels in a seafood broth. Finished off with a simple cheeseboard of 3 cheeses which were so good there was no need for more. With 2-3 glasses of wine it cost £147.00. Worth every penny.
