Gorgeous place, excellent food absolutely top tier.

Drove in the pitch black down country roads to get here at 5:30 on a Thursday when it says it’s open until 9pm just for it to be closed!!!

I've eaten both the street food and Sunday dinner menus and both are completely faultless. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a real treat. Save some room for the desserts too!

We were spending the day at Walters Arena and managed to get here just before the closed. Staff could not have been more charming and welcoming. The food was great and arrived quickly. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

We were first timers tonight at MAG. Set in the Neath valleys this lovely little restaurant looked set to be a great eat. We were greeted by a nice waiter who quickly showed us to our table. Almost every table was full tonight but staff were still attentive and apologetic on some of the wait times. The food ranges from dirty fries to burger, nachos starters to ribs with skin in fries. We had the belly pork and nachos to start, both great. For mains I had the Rude boy burger and Mr G had the rib. When food came it was piping hot and plentiful, tasty or cooked to perfection. A nice little restaurant, we will be back!

Pre booked our meals and still had to wait 1hr 20mins for our meal, very disappointing.

Booked but arrived early, staff really helpful and seated us anyway. Food was lovely, portions too big for us lightweights! Great service. Looking forward to going back.

Absolutely stunning. We came for a Sunday roast and it was delicious. Big portions we couldn't eat it all and brought it home. we were a party of 10 and the service and speed of the food being served was very impressive. What a hidden gem. Called in whilst out on a motorbike round trip. The food is very very impressive and the portion sizes are really good too. Prices seem a little on the high side but the food quality & quantity justify this. Would definitely eat there again.

Came here for a big feed after a few days hiking and camping - it was exactly what I needed. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. But what really stood out was the service! The staff were really friendly and helpful. If I didn’t live 4 hours away, I’d be a regular!

Was recommended by my son food was cooked very well apart from the gravy was very salty I had to say there wasn't enough peas and carrot and mash just enough for one person maybe a child when I asked the girl for more she said no problem but it's an extra £3 odd I said no problem we will pay for extra I was a bit shocked so when paying in fairness the manager never charged us for the extras this hasn't put me off from going here again.

Tucked away super find! Food was fabulous and the staff were lovely! Definitely recommend and would visit again if in the area.

Had a take away meal from here last night. Had the go mag or go home and fair play I think it could have fed an army! Fantastic feast, delivery was on time and the staff and delivery driver were friendly and professional! I think the only bad thing i have to say about it was that I could have done with some sauce for the chips. A few sachets of mayo or tom sauce would have been a nice option to have on this menu item! The tacos and cheese dip was absolutely incredible! When I'm out for a spin in the summer on the bike I'll be sure to drop in and grab one as a snack on the way home!

Absolutely stunning food!! Such an amazing little find on our last day in wales before we head home!! Food was just unreal, the best burgera we’ve ever had, and halloumi fries was just delicious!!! All amazing, if your nearby, make sure you go! You won’t regret it! Service was brilliant and staff were absolutely lovely! Such a lovely environment!!

The food is well worth a visit you will not be disappointed with quality presentation.. Quantity... Highly recommend this for a Sunday lunch in particular. Don't think of it as fast service which personally I don't mind slower service it's good to have a rest between courses and not feel rushed x

Quality food , not cheap but you are paying for QUALITY food ,and a nice atmosphere. Also great just for poping in for coffee ñ cake.

Super salty... So salty that we could not enjoy and finish our roast beef dinners. If I'm full I will usually take a doggy bag/box with us however the thought of eating it again turned me! We tried to work out if it was just one specific item ie the gravy that was making it so salty but it was all of it. Starters were delicious however that lulled us into a false sense of security. Ended up drinking an entire jug of water to try and quench the thirst by the salt which then filled us up and left no room for food. Travelled almost an hour to try the food hoping it would become a regular stop for us but it was that salty it was making us gag. Would we try again.. not really... The waitress mentioned lots of people had mentioned it was salty but the waiter just brushed it off saying no one else had mentioned it was salty. Paid over £50 for the two courses and meal for little boy. Food looked amazing just a shame it didn't taste as good as it looked. Service was ok but the fact that they did not take on board the issues and just asked was the starters ok.. let them down.

The service is friendly and quick. The meals themselves are absolutely divine. The flavours are amazing. The deserts........ well to be honest. I can buy what we had at a local supermarket for a lot cheaper. Nothing special to write home about there. Next time I'm going to have a cocktail instead.

Probably the best or one of the best burgers I've had in 42 years. Food was excellent, service was friendly and quick. Lovely venue and generally great service all round. My partner was very happy with her tikka loaded chips. Desert's were also super. Totally stuffed for the day now, but so worth it! We will definitely be back 👏🙂

First time we came the food and service was lovely. Since then we’ve been back twice and the service has been awful. Have to ask constantly for orders to be taken from many different waitresses that don’t come back to take it so a lot of waiting around. Food was overly salty, always something run out on the menu and we’ve all felt really ill after it. Such a shame because the first time was great.

Sadly didn't meet our expectations. We've had plenty of takeaways & they've always been amazing but eating in the restaurant sadly didn't match up to that.

Lovely food, service was a bit slow

Absolutely loved the decor, the burgers were outstanding but the dessert menu really let it down for me. I booked the table two weeks in advance and when we arrived the waiter told us there was no booking we were gutted, he went in the back then came back with all my details. We were sitting at our table when a family of four came in and exactly the same happened and the children were distraught, he came out and had their details so this really needs to be worked on. With all that I still give 4 stars as the service and food was top notch.

Great food and great staff at the Banwen restaurant tonight! Outstanding ... Will be returning! ❤ no complaints apart from the food coma I came away with 😂
