The best restaurants in Wales

The atmosphere was cosy and personnel was friendly. The place was clean (including toilets). You could order everything without intolerances, which was a big surprise. The food was excellent from starter, complimentary, to 6 main courses.

Went for the Chinese buffet on Friday 2nd Feb, what a treat! Even with a short staffed team the service was wonderful, you can see how the students are building their confidence and skills in both the kitchen and front of house. Food was tasty, excellent value at £7.50 for 2 courses and overall had a really lovely lunch. Will be back 😄

We have just returned from a fab few days in Tenby. Allium gave us a great base to explore the area. The rooms are exceptional and decorated to a really high standard. We also had lunch, and great chai lattes and flat whites. Would highly recommend the rooms and the cafe.

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.

Probably the most hygienic cafe I’ve ever visited!. Very white, very fresh and VERY clean. The warm husband-and-wife couple who run this petite venue are very friendly and like to get to know their regular customers. Most customers seem to be buying well-packaged, quality fresh food to take away, although there are a few chairs and tables if one decides to sit in (the sandwich chiller is a tad noisy but not so much of a racket that one has to leave - or where earplugs!). Although this is an easy-to-miss venue, nestling in a area full of apartments and offices, it does seem to be popular among local office workers etc (Mizzi opens at 7 am). And, well, what a surprise! Mizzi has an excellent hygiene rating from the councils health FSA inspector.

Lovely setting and decor. Friendly and accommodating staff. All the family, 6 adults and 3 kids, had Sunday roast dinner and pudding. Food very tasty and plenty of it especially the gravy. Will have no hesitation in returning to Caffi Traeth. Excellent.

We had such lovely, friendly service and really good pizza! Would definitely recommend this if you fancy a pizza while visiting the area. So accommodating and welcoming.

Eaten here on a number of occasions, everytime absolutely flawless, food is jawdropping, amazing location, amazing staff, dog friendly (we have big dogs) eat here as often as we can 😍

I do not cook at all when The Penny Black is open ! I feel really sorry for cafes and restaurants like this ! It's not their fault that they are unable to open up at the moment still ! The Post office is an integral part of the Burry Port community and as such will have struggled to retain their loyal clientele! Not everyone is,driven by price but as I intend to eat there 3 or 4 times a week , still, I'm very grateful that the prices are priced really realistically , as I'm single and only on my works pension, still ! Great customer service. Staff are very friendly and helpful in helping you decide what drink you might prefer. The prices are quite reasonable for the quantity given and there are soo many flavours to choose from. Orders are completed very quickly and to the best of their ability. I always come here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Some of the best fresh pub food I’ve had in a very long time. Great food and a welcoming hospitality. Thank you, we will definitely be back

Well worth a visit. Portion size is good and reasonably priced. Ploughman’s lunch was a nice surprise and the baked potatoes had plenty of filling
