I’ve har Pizza Roma every Thursday since September (currently it’s March). Quick review:
Pizza : Banger
Burger : Amazing
Wrap : Delicious
Meat Feast Calzone : Will fix whatever you’re going through 10/10
Quick, consistent and exactly what you’ll ask for, couldn’t get any better.
Also, make sure you tip the delivery lady nicely, she’s a blessing, on time and clearly kind hearted.
If anyone from Pizza Roma is reading this, thank you 🙏🏼.
Pizzas and salad were very tasty and service was great from the young serving staff. Kids finsihed their plates which is a rairty. Enjoyed teh decor and the oportunity for people watching form a tabel by the window. Spotlessly clean place, only downside was listeining to what I think was the owner moaing in at anotehr table.

Went there specifically for the allegedly lovely beer garden. Never found out as we couldn't get in. Two police vans in attendance on a Friday lunchtime...
Service was awful. There were young girls working who wanted to chat to each other rather than serve customers. We had to go up to the bar every time we wanted a drink, ask for dessert menu after waiting over half an hour, then ask for the bill. There didn't appear to be any management around.
When we were sat at our table, we weren't informed that there was a specials board, we only noticed after one of our trips to the bar.
My partner and I shared a starter of bruschetta, which was overpowered by red onion and ruined the taste.
My partner had the jalfrezi, which was the curry of the day, he found it to be a lot of food but said it was really nice. I had the steak and ale pie which was the pie of the day (I had to ask what the pie and curry of the day was). The pie came on a mountain of greens, I think a third of the amount would've been enough. The pie was slightly overcooked and a bit dry.
We eat out regularly and I think for the price and the service we received, it definitely wasn't worth it.
Overall, it was a disappointing visit which is a shame as I've heard great things about The Boars Head. I
wouldn't rush to go back.
I wanted to feel like we had found a place to go and continue to go but unfortunately we didn’t really feel welcome. At first we were greeted by a lady behind the bar who was lovely and welcoming and I have no complaints about her. However, when it came to ordering our food the waitress approached and asked if we were ready to order, at that point we hadn’t even looked at the menu. We asked if we could have 5 more minutes to look at the menu, we were trying to settle and occupy a 2 year old and a 10 year old before deciding what we wanted. The waitress looked disgruntled and said yes okay but we need the table by 19:15, we had booked the table for 5 and arrived 10 minutes before. My partner said to the waitress that we would definitely be gone by then because we have a 2 year old to settle. This did annoy me and if it wasn’t for the fact that my children were there and were hungry I would have left.
I think she realised how rude it was because she did apologise and say sorry for rushing us. I appreciated the apology but I hope there is a lesson learned here. I know it’s just a job to them but I do think there should be a level of consideration and understanding of other people’s circumstances. We have recently moved to the area and our young children are also settling into their new surroundings, I just hope that another family doesn’t have to feel the way we initially felt. I’m sure the waitress reflecting on the situation wouldn’t have wanted us to feel this way and the free ice cream did help slightly however, we won’t be returning. I know from the level of detail I’ve provided that they will know the exact customer that has posted this review and I hope they think next time before rushing a customer with young children.
i am absolutley appalled with the service, one of the employees with ginger hair was stood right infront of me eating chips with no gloves behind the counter and didnt wash her hands before preparing my food, i have no problem with employees eating while on shift however id rather it not be done right infront of my face from MY food that i had to take home, additionally, i ordered a tub of irish curry sauce, im quite a germaphobe so i like to watch my food be made and im glad i did because when she was potting it up a bit dribbled down the side of the tub and she proceeded to lick it off her finger in the middle of preparing my food feel this is highly unacceptable this chippy has gone out of control. i was going to make a complaint then and there however i wanted other customers to be aware and all the workers completely dismissed me, not even sparring a glance at me, i will not be returning and will be telling family and friends
