We recently visited bluestone in wales for a holiday and noticed this little gem of a pub when driving back from Tenby. We looked at the online menu and there was lots of choice. We booked up and headed down one evening and the whole experience was amazing. Not only did they have the already great menu but also lots of specials to choose from. We had 2 vegetarians with us and they had an extensive choice of dishes to choose from. The food we ordered was amazing - the bruschetta with caramalised onion was a game changer and I really enjoyed this dish. Portion sizes were huge and all food and drink reasonably priced. The ladies that served us were really accommodating and made sure we were ok and enjoying ourselves throughout the visit. I just wish I could pick this pub up and put it nearer to home as there were so many food options I would love to visit again, and next time we are in this neck of the woods we will. It is a 10 minute drive from Bluestone so if you are there I would really recommend a visit here. It was quite busy so would be advisable to book. Thanks for a lovely dining experience.

The pub appealed to us following some creative advertising on Instagram and we were not disappointed! A warm welcome from the staff in a pleasant room awaited us! My wife loved her chicken fajitas which were massive. My burger was homemade and delicious with good chips and fillings. The only disappointment was the beer offering which advertised Pembrokeshire beers and offered Sharps Doom Bar, a very bland offering! But go to enjoy the food and service!

Found the place way too hot, stuffy and crammed. The wait was quite lengthy, food didn't all cone at once, a delay with a mains and dessert for one family member, some rudeness from staff. Over priced for the food that was served and parts of it were cold and over charged for 1 drink when the bill was checked at home. Will not be returning there.

We were a table of 8 and requested room for a pram at the table of possible, but instead we were squashed into a tight corner with no room to even pull our chairs out to sit, and definitely no room for the pram. We had to ask the table next to us to actually move their big table so we could get in to sit down. And we had to climb over each other's chairs if we needed the toilet at any point during our meal. It was boiling in there and clearly way too busy for the staff to manage. They seemed very rushed and not particularly polite. Our Sunday lunch was not great at all. Veg was so crunchy, undercooked and the meats were all quite tough. Unfortunately none of us had anything positive to say about our visit.

went here as always seemed busy so thought would be nice and boy were we disappointed!! we went for sunday lunch it was luke warm (but tolerable) vegtables were covered in some sort of strong seasoning that you would probably find in a cajun dish the meat was tough and supposed to be "local" but had no taste. to top it off the parking is horrendous was blocked in then my disabled mother could 'nt get into the car as some smart person had parked so close. will never go here again for a sunday lunch.

Was staying at Bluestone resort and wanted to find somewhere off site to eat. My wife found this place and what a amazing lil pub this is. From the outside just looks like every other pub. But step inside and whoever decorated this place I'd love for them to come to my house as they done a cracking job. All the staff we dealt with were absolutely amazing and the food was incredible!!! Really recommend the chip shop style loaded fries... chips, mushy peas, cod pieces (mind out the gutter lol) curry sauce, and crispy bits of batter (best batter I've ever tasted) whoever thought of this deserve the noble prize!! To all the staff there from the barmaids, to the waitresses and the kitchen staff... thank you for a lovely evening, we can't wait to come back

Booked a table for early evening advised we had 2 Labradors, they said no problem, arrived and was shown straight to our table by a nice young lady. Took our drinks order and returned promptly, took our order after deciding what to have. Food came fairly quickly and was piping hot. We both ordered off the special boards and my husband had hanging chicken kebabs and I had the dirty fries with fish bits, curry sauce and mushy peas and omg it was huge ! I couldn’t eat all the chips but my oh finished them lol highly recommend a visit if you are in the area

Disappointing. Don't know how it's got such a high review score, I do wonder if the people scoring it 5* have ever had a meal out before. Service was really slow for our table of 6, waited about 40 minutes to order, then around 45-50 minutes from order to food arriving on the table. And when it did arrive the rice was microwaved, the curry tasted like it was from a jar, and a cheap jar at that, poppadom was rubbery, battered fish was greasy, pretty sure the lasagne was bought in and the portion of chips was tiny. We weren't the only ones unhappy with what we had either, at least two other tables were complaining while we were there. However, biggest issue is if you advertise gluten free and advise a coeliac what they can have from the menu, you need to make sure it is gluten free. My wife, who's a coeliac, was quite ill after her meal as a result of gluten, despite advising beforehand and checking what was suitable when we were there, most likely from cross contamination, same oil used for chips as used for fish and onion rings? Expensive for the quality of the meal, really slow service, gluten free not gluten free, wouldn't and don't recommend. Should add, the toilets are pretty poor too, gents had no toilet roll holder so toilet rolls were all over the floor, friends said the ladies were disgusting.

My Family and I had visited the Boars head last year and throughly enjoyed it. So this year we thought we would pay another visit, but this time with the addition of our labrador. They were accommodating of our dog which was a good start and placed us at a table which was a bit tucked away, which was good. At this point our experience did take a turn for the worse. The service we received just really wasn’t of a great standard. I understand that this may have been a busy period for them. But it was a good 20-30 mins before anybody approached us to see if we would like anything to drink. At one point I did approach The bar to see if it was table service and I was assured that it was. To be fair, The wait for the drinks wasn’t too bad and upon receiving them I was expecting to be asked if we had decided what we would like to eat as per previous experiences in other restaurants. This unfortunately did not happen. It was another 20 minutes before anybody approached us to see if we would like anything to eat. This was instigated by me approaching the till to order our food. It was now approaching an hour after we had arrived and we had still not ordered any food. The positives which I can say was my actual food. The lasagna was lovely and very nicely prepared and a really good quality. I can also say to Eton mess was indeed very nice as well. Unfortunately my daughter sticky toffee pudding wasn’t fully cooked all the way through. This was only noticed towards the end of the meal as we found some of the dates in it were still rockhard. we didn’t really feel we could complain as the vast majority of the dish had been eaten. The decor and the atmosphere in the pub is really nice and welcoming and themed well. The service level just needs to be stepped up quite a way.

Arrived at 12.25 ordered minted land with fresh vegetables. Waited one and a quarter hours for our food, lamb was tough, vegetables undercooked and chewy, 5 new potatoes and a small jug of minted gravy. Another half hour wait for dessert, crumble was ok but the lemon tart wasn’t very lemony and the pastry was soggy, this was topped with a huge amount of thick whipped cream, half a strawberry and one blueberry. Worst meal I’d ever had and considering it cost £62 I’d have extra better. Apparently the wait was due to training a new chef . We left at 3.30!!

Terrible service, went for a meal with the wife waited for food for almost a hour, then when food comes out we have no cutlery and no one to ask for any, then the Mrs food order was wrong sweet potato fries not chips, I go to eat my medium fillet steak and it's overcooked so they send it back and make me a new one, so I wait again patiently at this point a hour and a half almost after arriving then the second stake comes and yet again no cutlery so i have to go find someone to get it, i cut in to my steak straight away as im extremely hungry by this point and this time the steak is medium rare more on the rare side. For £34 it should be cooked properly, I don't think that's to much to ask. So i left the stake and we soon after paid what was due and left. Extremely disappointed

The service from the moment we arrived to when we left was non existent. The food itself was served 50 minutes after ordering and came out cold and was nothing special. Communicated this to them but didn't receive any apology. The icing on the cake (excuse the pun) was the 'warm chocolate cake' we ordered which again came out cold🤦‍♀️felt like there were no point in advising them of this as it probably would've taken them another half an hour to bring it back out warm. Expensive for the poor quality of food and definitely wouldn't return nor recommend.

Visited this establishment on 23/01/2024 for a family meal. I GOT FOOD POISONING for two days from an undercooked "Gourmet Burger". Believe me there was nothing Gourmet about it. £15.95 for a Brioche bun, burger, and a slice each of cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Overpriced and poor portions. First and last time I attend this establishment. Got a reply from the manager basically giving miserable excuses but there a lot of other negative reviews from other customers, , not just me.. The manager (Josh) requests personal email complaints (obviously keeping any issues from social media.) He claims that there maybe other factors causing my illness. On the evening in question I was very well and as a designated driver consumed no alcohol.. Service was horrendous as stated by many negative reviews. Disappointing start to our first visit to The Boars Head today to celebrate my best friends 40th birthday. We reserved a table in a specific area of the restaurant on 4th January 2024 to dine today (10th March 2024). The booking was made in this area to ensure we were sat near to a friend and other members of a party to celebrate her 40th birthday with her. On arrival we were told that our table wasn't ready for another 15 to 20 minutes and that we were to be seated on a small table in the bar area. On questioning this and explaining that we had reserved a table in this specific area we were told by 3 members of staff that there was "nothing they could do" and "it was the systems fault because they had booked so many tables in the "system" had moved us to another area...and once again "it wasn't their fault" which makes me wonder "whose fault is it? Because it certainly wasn't ours. We booked the table well in advance, and there was no notification prior to us arriving that the area we had requested to dine in had been changed. As it happemed two members of a friends party werent attending so as a group we were able to rearrange seating ourselves to make sure we could all dine together, but there was no offer of any assitance with this from the staff, they just kept saying "it's not our fault ".The food in the pub today was excellent and great value for money. Sadly, the way that we were welcomed by the staff, the way that the issue was addressed ,and the fact that no apology was offered at all during our visit really tarnished our experience and would make me question visiting again. This is such a shame as we had heard such good things about the place, but the customer service skills were certainly not what we expected.

Quite expensive starters and puddings in my opinion Sunday lunch good but potion size of meat and quality of vegetables has good down since previous visit. But friendly staff and good selection of drinks dig friendly

Despite a bit of a hiccup finding the entrance, our visit to the restaurant turned out to be a delightful experience! The initial hallway wasn’t the best introduction as we came through the doors closest to car park but once inside, we were warmly greeted by a lovely waitress who took excellent care of us. The food was really good – all locally sourced and homemade, with a slightly different twist on the kids’ menu compared to other places. And let’s not forget the delicious desserts! Despite the rocky start, it ended up being a memorable dining experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Absolutely excellent Sunday Roast, no faults. Staff were lovely! 10/10, will be returning very soon! Only £58 for two courses & a round of drinks! Beef main. No faults. 10/10. Gravy is the best I’ve ever had! Mozzarella parcels. Could have done with one more for £7.50 but were tasty nevertheless.

It is no good providing excellent food unless you have good staff. We needn't have worried because although we arrived at 12.15pm for Sunday lunch and the pub was already busy, we were served quickly and efficiently. The roasts were generous in portions and sadly we didn't have room for puds! Great food, friendly staff and lovely ambience - what more could you ask for? Our two dogs were welcomed as well. Will definitely be back soon.

Best roast dinner I've ever had. My husband was really impressed too. Extra jug of gravy brought out and was a good consistency; not thin dishwater like you can get in some restaurants. Meat cooked to perfection and the veg was amazing. Absolutely loved the spiced red cabbage. The staff were friendly and although they were busy, they still took our order in a timely manner. Absolute gem of a place.

Delicious food, served by fantastic & friendly staff, in a beautiful pub. Log-fire was roaring so the pub was lovely & warm, despite it only being 5deg outside. Dogs are also welcome too. My wife and I LOVED this pub, and will be back one day!

Went in a party of 12 which was pre booked weeks beforehand for Sunday Lunch. I had high expectations as had heard great things about this pub and the food. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations as service let it down. We waited about 1/2 hour for our drinks and then had to go and ask as some were missing. The children in the group were getting upset as they were thirsty and had only wanted water and this was just not being brought to the table. The food eventually arrived and we then had to wait about 5 minutes for the vegetables and gravy by which time the meat, potatoes and Yorkshire was lukewarm. One of our group had chilli which had to be returned and replaced as the rice was freezing cold. This meant she didn’t eat her meal with us to start off with. We had to chase for more drinks and more gravy as the service was just not there. There was no-one checking we were alright and if we needed anything else. They had cramped too many tables in and it was a nightmare to get up and down for the toilets and to get to the bar, I was very disappointed especially as this was a big celebration for a special birthday. The cost of the meal was expensive for the service we received and the fact the food was lukewarm, there was no real apology at all and we didn’t have dessert as the children were getting restless as we’d been in there so long already waiting for our main meal. We had 2 extra roast potatoes charged at £1 per potato, come on, £1 for 2 maybe but a £1 each! A very very disappointing experience.

I never usually write reviews and have been here a few times as a small table and the food has always been lovely but we came here for my little brother’s 18th birthday and everything was honestly perfect. We had a big table of 16 which we kept on adding more too, this was no problem at all. Food came out all together, no one was left waiting, every single person was impressed with the food and enjoyed the meal. There was a young team looking after us, they were always smiling, made sure we had enough drinks, brought our cake out and couldn’t do enough for us. We had our own area so we could decorate and didn’t feel like we were interrupting anyone else's meal. Everything was amazing and highly recommend✨

On the Sunday of our trip we were searching the net for somewhere to eat, and found a lot of places were either closed or too similar to what we’d had at lunch, until we came across this place. We booked and even received a text 45 minutes before our booking time saying our table was ready which is something I’ve never had before, nice touch. We went intending to eat something Mexican which we’d seen on the menu online, however on arrival there was only a Sunday menu. Not a problem, we’d seen glowing reviews for the Roasts. I had a soup to start then the lamb roast and my girlfriend had chicken goujons to start then a chicken and beef roast. I had a couple of pints of Peroni and my girlfriend had a Rekordelig. The roast was the best I’ve ever had. Simple as that. If you’re looking at this hoping see about their roasts, just do it.

Fantastic. The quality is excellent, service second to none and for the first time in a very very long time, I was impressed. I urge anyone that values quality food to visit this business, as they are certainly leading in their field. A more detailed review has been emailed directly to the business.

We had one of the best mid-week lunches we had ever tasted. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked piping hot and plentiful. Having tried a few pubs in the area and been a little bit disappointed, it was such a pleasure to find The Boars Head. Absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back!

Had a takeaway and asked for the fish NOT to put on top of the chips. They said, no worries we will put paper in between. Got home and no paper between so very soggy and also green chips. Most of these were discarded. If these green chips were served in the restaurant they would definitely be sent back, so come on, please serve the same standard for takeaways as the restaurant. Myself and all my family and friends will not return.

Might seem a little local at first, but that's kinda what it is. Take a breath and then everyone was lovely on the night I was in. The landlady is great, a source of things to do locally or just a good chit chat about the world. A terribly nice, cosy local pub with historic interest. If ur visiting and after old school, pop through that door for a chat and a welcome

We had a fantastic lunch at The Farmers Arms in Mathry with the whole family—kids, grandparents, and even the dog! This family-run pub made us feel instantly at home with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was superb; between us, we had the fish pie (the best we’ve ever had!), a chicken burger, curry, and beef burgers. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the value was excellent. The locals were lovely, and it was great to have a friendly chat with them. Being dog-friendly was a huge plus for us as well. This place is an absolute gem, tucked not far from St. David’s, and we can’t recommend it enough. Looking forward to our next visit!

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed
