Having booked on "opentable" one of the sections mentioned special occasions. This was duly completed with reference to my step mother who happened to be 87 on the day, 5th Feb. During the ordering process we were asked by the waitress if there was a special occasion. Again my step mother's birthday was mentioned. Nothing came of the birthday mention, which was very disappointing, considering we were specifically asked and spent almost £100 during lunch. While the food was nice, the experience did leave a sour taste on the whole.

I have eaten in the Boars Head many times over the years and often found it hit and miss. On this occasion however my daughter booked a Birthday Sunday Lunch for 11 of us and without exception the food was delicious. We had to wait a little time for our food but this was more than acceptable given the quality of what was prepared for us. As a family we are all big foodies and spend a lot of money in the local restaurants on all family celebrations. The Boars however topped them all on this occasion. If i have one criticism we asked for a little extra veg as all the men around the table are big lads yet despite a bill of over £320, we were charged extra for an additional serving of Veg.

Delicious Sunday roast dinner, the meat was tender and full of flavor. Big yorkshire pudding, stuffing, cheesey broccoli, greens, red cabbage, carrots, roasted potatoes and parsnips. My husband had the roast Beef which was juciey and tender too. Cosy, well decorated place with a double sided log fire. I would highly recommend the Boards head.

Honestly one of the best meals out we’ve had in a while! Wholesome and delicious. We had the sausage, veg and mash from the specials, and the lasagne with garlic potatoes. Also chicken nuggets kids’ meal. All so good. Excellent service too! Great if you want to do something ‘grown up’ and not eat the rubbish in Folly Farm! Thank you so much.

Living moments from the Boars, we decided to see the refurb and sample the menu. It was impromptu so hadn't booked and arrived at 5.30pm in the hope for a quick family meal after a busy day. Were greeted slowly but with a friendly welcome and an attentive manager, who was able to squeeze us in despite a busy asat night service ahead. We ordered 2 kids meal (scampi and chips), their pie of the day (steak and ale) and one of their specials, grilled sea bass with crushed garlic potatoes, veg and a white wine and garlic sauce. Wait wasn't unreasonable but no explanation offered as to it being order at the bar service unfortunately, which left us a little unsure as to whether to sit tight and wait for service or head up to the bar to order - nevertheless, quickly addressed and food arrived in an acceptable timeframe given the food that we'd ordered. All meals were lovely, tasty and fresh, well-cooked and very generous portions - compliments to the chef for the sea bass which was beautiful. The pie filling was rich and flavoursome as was the gravy. Kids meals were just scampi, chips and peas but have got to acknowledge the tartare sauce, assume it was homemade as it was delicious. Portions were great and bigger than expected which more than justified the price. All in all, a lovely refurb, probably doubled the amount of covers now which is great and it has been done tastefully. Warm ambience, welcoming vibe and good food and drink - will definitely come back!

I feel compelled to review The Boars Head pub in Narberth after having the most spectacularly delicious Sunday lunch there today with my kids. I love a good Sunday lunch, as do my two boys, and I have visited many pubs/restaurants over the years all over the UK and the one I had today was without a doubt the best I have ever had. The meat was beautiful, the accompanying veg, stuffing and yorkshire all cooked to perfection. It really blew me away. Well done. We live in Cardiff and were staying nearby in Bluestone which i why we visited here. But to be honest, for a Sunday roast that amazing I’d consider doing the round trip from Cardiff just for lunch at this place! Phenomenal. Ten stars!

Impromptu reservation, no regrets since the Sunday roast was fantastic. and the slow roasted beef was probably the best I've had the pleasure of eating for ages. I must admit we made the mistake of ordering an individual desert each, which we struggled to finish. The staff were attentive and professional. The pub has recently undertaken a refurbishment, it looks great. We've already rebooked for next week.

We were disappointed at the Boar’s Head. It is publicised as an award-winning gastropub which it definitely isn’t! All they sell is regular pub grub certainly not a gastropub. If you are looking for a beer at the bar, its fine, if you seek fine dining then go elsewhere!

We recently visited bluestone in wales for a holiday and noticed this little gem of a pub when driving back from Tenby. We looked at the online menu and there was lots of choice. We booked up and headed down one evening and the whole experience was amazing. Not only did they have the already great menu but also lots of specials to choose from. We had 2 vegetarians with us and they had an extensive choice of dishes to choose from. The food we ordered was amazing - the bruschetta with caramalised onion was a game changer and I really enjoyed this dish. Portion sizes were huge and all food and drink reasonably priced. The ladies that served us were really accommodating and made sure we were ok and enjoying ourselves throughout the visit. I just wish I could pick this pub up and put it nearer to home as there were so many food options I would love to visit again, and next time we are in this neck of the woods we will. It is a 10 minute drive from Bluestone so if you are there I would really recommend a visit here. It was quite busy so would be advisable to book. Thanks for a lovely dining experience.

The pub appealed to us following some creative advertising on Instagram and we were not disappointed! A warm welcome from the staff in a pleasant room awaited us! My wife loved her chicken fajitas which were massive. My burger was homemade and delicious with good chips and fillings. Found the place way too hot, stuffy and crammed. The wait was quite lengthy, food didn't all cone at once, a delay with a mains and dessert for one family member, some rudeness from staff. Over priced for the food that was served and parts of it were cold and over charged for 1 drink when the bill was checked at home. Will not be returning there.

We were a table of 8 and requested room for a pram at the table of possible, but instead we were squashed into a tight corner with no room to even pull our chairs out to sit, and definitely no room for the pram. We had to ask the table next to us to actually move their big table so we could get in to sit down. And we had to climb over each other's chairs if we needed the toilet at any point during our meal. It was boiling in there and clearly way too busy for the staff to manage. They seemed very rushed and not particularly polite. Our Sunday lunch was not great at all. Veg was so crunchy, undercooked and the meats were all quite tough. Unfortunately none of us had anything positive to say about our visit.

Disappointing. Don't know how it's got such a high review score, I do wonder if the people scoring it 5* have ever had a meal out before. Service was really slow for our table of 6, waited about 40 minutes to order, then around 45-50 minutes from order to food arriving on the table. And when it did arrive the rice was microwaved, the curry tasted like it was from a jar, and a cheap jar at that, poppadom was rubbery, battered fish was greasy, pretty sure the lasagne was bought in and the portion of chips was tiny. We weren't the only ones unhappy with what we had either, at least two other tables were complaining while we were there. However, biggest issue is if you advertise gluten free and advise a coeliac what they can have from the menu, you need to make sure it is gluten free. My wife, who's a coeliac, was quite ill after her meal as a result of gluten, despite advising beforehand and checking what was suitable when we were there, most likely from cross contamination, same oil used for chips as used for fish and onion rings? Expensive for the quality of the meal, really slow service, gluten free not gluten free, wouldn't and don't recommend. Should add, the toilets are pretty poor too, gents had no toilet roll holder so toilet rolls were all over the floor, friends said the ladies were disgusting.

Arrived at 12.25 ordered minted land with fresh vegetables. Waited one and a quarter hours for our food, lamb was tough, vegetables undercooked and chewy, 5 new potatoes and a small jug of minted gravy. Another half hour wait for dessert, crumble was ok but the lemon tart wasn’t very lemony and the pastry was soggy, this was topped with a huge amount of thick whipped cream, half a strawberry and one blueberry. Worst meal I’d ever had and considering it cost £62 I’d have extra better. Apparently the wait was due to training a new chef . We left at 3.30!!

My Family and I had visited the Boars head last year and throughly enjoyed it. So this year we thought we would pay another visit, but this time with the addition of our labrador. They were accommodating of our dog which was a good start and placed us at a table which was a bit tucked away, which was good. At this point our experience did take a turn for the worse. The service we received just really wasn’t of a great standard. I understand that this may have been a busy period for them. But it was a good 20-30 mins before anybody approached us to see if we would like anything to drink. At one point I did approach The bar to see if it was table service and I was assured that it was. To be fair, The wait for the drinks wasn’t too bad and upon receiving them I was expecting to be asked if we had decided what we would like to eat as per previous experiences in other restaurants. This unfortunately did not happen. It was another 20 minutes before anybody approached us to see if we would like anything to eat. This was instigated by me approaching the till to order our food. It was now approaching an hour after we had arrived and we had still not ordered any food. The positives which I can say was my actual food. The lasagna was lovely and very nicely prepared and a really good quality. I can also say to Eton mess was indeed very nice as well. Unfortunately my daughter sticky toffee pudding wasn’t fully cooked all the way through. This was only noticed towards the end of the meal as we found some of the dates in it were still rockhard. we didn’t really feel we could complain as the vast majority of the dish had been eaten. The decor and the atmosphere in the pub is really nice and welcoming and themed well. The service level just needs to be stepped up quite a way.

The service from the moment we arrived to when we left was non existent. The food itself was served 50 minutes after ordering and came out cold and was nothing special. Communicated this to them but didn't receive any apology. The icing on the cake (excuse the pun) was the 'warm chocolate cake' we ordered which again came out cold🤦♀️felt like there were no point in advising them of this as it probably would've taken them another half an hour to bring it back out warm. Expensive for the poor quality of food and definitely wouldn't return nor recommend.

Terrible service, went for a meal with the wife waited for food for almost a hour, then when food comes out we have no cutlery and no one to ask for any, then the Mrs food order was wrong sweet potato fries not chips, I go to eat my medium fillet steak and it's overcooked so they send it back and make me a new one, so I wait again patiently at this point a hour and a half almost after arriving then the second stake comes and yet again no cutlery so i have to go find someone to get it, i cut in to my steak straight away as im extremely hungry by this point and this time the steak is medium rare more on the rare side. For £34 it should be cooked properly, I don't think that's to much to ask. So i left the stake and we soon after paid what was due and left. Extremely disappointed

Visited this establishment on 23/01/2024 for a family meal. I GOT FOOD POISONING for two days from an undercooked "Gourmet Burger". Believe me there was nothing Gourmet about it. £15.95 for a Brioche bun, burger, and a slice each of cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Overpriced and poor portions. First and last time I attend this establishment. Got a reply from the manager basically giving miserable excuses but there a lot of other negative reviews from other customers, , not just me.. The manager (Josh) requests personal email complaints (obviously keeping any issues from social media.) He claims that there maybe other factors causing my illness. On the evening in question I was very well and as a designated driver consumed no alcohol.. Service was horrendous as stated by many negative reviews. Very average food for the price. Asked about serving time and told not too bad. But very slow to serve the food waited well over an hour! Asked for a discount for the wait and said it was standard. Not great at all.

Very average food at well above average price. Waited well over an hour and when we queried that, we were told it was normal. However that was not explained when we booked. We will avoid in future

Great food but it’s a shame about the real ale choice. Just Pedigree or Doom Bar (with one pump not in use) is a dreadful choice. Get a local pale ale on!!!

Sorry it was ruined by such bad language from the locals. I understand it's their local but when you have people eating very near by its was not nice to sit among at least they could tryand be a little quieter. I myself can swear but I wouldn't if out. Specially seeing this is a holiday place too where you get lots of visitors to your pub. Not a place I would want to come back too, well perhaps if we sat somewhere different it would be ok as the food was lovely and the staff.

Popular "local" pub in Templeton on the road between Kilgetty and Narberth which appears to attract regular customers from near and far. There's a good selection of draught beers for the real ale enthusiast and the food is well-presented, tasty and sufficiently ample to suit bigger appetites. The place is nicely decorated and furnished inside and the young staff are both enthusiastic and cheerful ensuring that customers are kept happy. A good find in the depths of west Wales!

Thank you all the staff at this lovely pub We came as a family for a birthday get together. Very warm welcome. Food delicious and reasonably priced. We did preorder as there were so many of us but food was served efficiently. Would highly recommend you try this little gem

Disappointing start to our first visit to The Boars Head today to celebrate my best friends 40th birthday. We reserved a table in a specific area of the restaurant on 4th January 2024 to dine today (10th March 2024). The booking was made in this area to ensure we were sat near to a friend and other members of a party to celebrate her 40th birthday with her. On arrival we were told that our table wasn't ready for another 15 to 20 minutes and that we were to be seated on a small table in the bar area. On questioning this and explaining that we had reserved a table in this specific area we were told by 3 members of staff that there was "nothing they could do" and "it was the systems fault because they had booked so many tables in the "system" had moved us to another area...and once again "it wasn't their fault" which makes me wonder "whose fault is it? Because it certainly wasn't ours. We booked the table well in advance, and there was no notification prior to us arriving that the area we had requested to dine in had been changed. As it happemed two members of a friends party werent attending so as a group we were able to rearrange seating ourselves to make sure we could all dine together, but there was no offer of any assitance with this from the staff, they just kept saying "it's not our fault ".The food in the pub today was excellent and great value for money. Sadly, the way that we were welcomed by the staff, the way that the issue was addressed ,and the fact that no apology was offered at all during our visit really tarnished our experience and would make me question visiting again. This is such a shame as we had heard such good things about the place, but the customer service skills were certainly not what we expected.

Celebrating the wife's birthday, her selection to go here and just as well she did. The tomato and roast pepper soup was divine. Then the steak and ale pie was ridiculous, with stunning garlic potatoes. Mrs B's fish was tasty and beautiful, as was the cheesecake. Wonderful service from the ladies. Highly recommend eating here. Funny moment was a sign in the gents, apologising for their condition and being refurbed in due course. Having played in dives for 30 years, the toilets were palatial in comparison! Must visit place!

A warm welcome greeted us on a blustery Sunday at the Farmers Arms. Never ever have we experienced someone say we do a 1,2 or 3 course lunch, but just to warn you our lunch is massive! Not only is it massive it’s the best lunch we’ve ever had. Homemade and so very tasty. We couldn’t fit anything else in. Not only that the lady behind the bar was so helpful when we needed to source some extra wood for our open fire, she gave us the name of their wood supplier. Overall, a lovely place, fabulous Sunday lunch and most importantly dog friendly.

Might seem a little local at first, but that's kinda what it is. Take a breath and then everyone was lovely on the night I was in. The landlady is great, a source of things to do locally or just a good chit chat about the world. A terribly nice, cosy local pub with historic interest. If ur visiting and after old school, pop through that door for a chat and a welcome

Fish and chip shop and restaurant. Still the same friendly staff good fish and chips ideally situated on the main A40 stop before travelling to Fishguard and ferry to Ireland. It's still a top rate chip shop, and restaurant service was quick. Everything cooked to order. Fast service welcoming staff. I was in ordered and out by the time the fish was freshly cooked. Still a 5 star by me

We stayed in Little Haven last weekend and ate at The Castle 3 times. Every meal was absolutely delicious - the steak, fish and chips and to top it all the Sunday roast - not forgetting the desserts. Ingredients supplied locally and cooked to perfection. The service from Gunny and Tom was outstanding and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed. So lovely to also be able to take our dog in - he thoroughly enjoyed some tasters! Thank you so much and look forward to visiting again soon.
