The best restaurants in Torfaen South Wales

I have come here as I NEED to tell others how good their cakes are. They’re by far and large, the best cakes and brownies I’ve had in Cwmbran. I’ve lived in Cwmbran all my life and this has easily been the best cakes and puddings I’ve had from a coffee shop. There’s a nice simple elegance to their cakes without being gluttonous and piling on too much. I implore people come here and try their homely abode!!!

Had fish chips mushy peas fish bites, all the food was gluten free, the batter was perfect the chips were spot on the staff were very friendly & knew what they were doing.

Just a few words to say about this fantastic little tea room.i am a bit bias because the young lady who owns this place is my daughter in law.she has started from nothing and is in the process of making this a lovely room to enjoy a fantastic snack and a cuppa.dont take my word for it pop in and once you’ve tried it you will definitely go back again GUARENTEED Cheers Terry Herbert

Great service, friendly staffs and delicious food. What more could you ask for! We went on a sat morning. Lovely cute vintage decor and great selection of food on the menu. It won’t be long before we come back ：）they also do pudding club and wedding orders.

This is a dog friendly restaurant that caters for all breakfast, lunch. Open from 9am until 4pm daily, Closed on a Tuesday. The food is scrumptious and so reasonable with large portions. Their ice cream is yummy. Sunday lunch is amazing and their evening menu is unbelievable given the quality and cost. Even on a budget you can justify eating here.

Very friendly staff who were so welcoming and made the experience better. They also went to the effort of giving me a free cake as they accidentally put my drink through twice, it was no issue at all but still they went over and above my expectations. Fantastic place

We are huge steak lovers and have eaten in every steak house know in and around our area, we make several booking a year here the steak is absolutely beautiful! Aswell as all the extras. We have visited the restaurant around 5x now and each time we havnt a single complaint actually my only complaint would be that there always fully booked! But that speaks for its self. 👏 The value for money is brilliant cannot fault this restaurant at all 👌🦋💖

If you need a takeout spot that’s fast and dependable, parbin tandoori is the place to go! They handle orders efficiently, the staff is well-trained, and everything is always prepared with care. A great experience from start to finish♥️

AVOID !!!! After seeing a lot of positive reviews, we thought we’d give these a try. Unfortunately it was possibly the worst curry I’ve ever had. Purchased 15/02/2025 early evening and came to £32. Onion bhaji, chicken tikka masala, chicken madras, pilau rice chips pappadoms and nann bread. Bhaji was ok, Masala was very creamy Rice was sticky Chips were poor and fell apart when taking from the tray. The worst was the madras!! I’m not sure if the chef forgot to put in some spice as it was as bland as a korma. Not one bit of a spice in it. I’d go as far as it being tasteless. We usually eat half one day and half the next. But it will be going straight in the bin. I should have realised potential issues as they are not listed on any food ordering sites ( just eat uber eats etc) Also only take cash no card or delivery. No menu online apart from a year old menu and the building itself looks run down and draws doubts on hygiene. That £32 will be the only money they ever get from me as will be avoiding in future and I suggest you should do the same. Chef had a bad day? Who knows but absolutely disappointing.

We were in the area so researched somewhere with good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The food was very good, prompt to arrive, and the staff were friendly and professional. There was plenty of choice but in the end we settled for a Monster breakfast. The food was well cooked and plentiful! The only criticism was that the toast had margarine on, not butter. Also the mushrooms were tinned and had an unpleasant taste and texture. That said I would highly recommend and we will be back!
