Nice chicken jalfrezi with mushroom rice. The chicken pieces are fresh breast and tasty. BIG portions. I would argue that this is a decent curry but lacks the true flavours to make it a good curry. Too bland.

First time getting a take away from here and wow what a treat! It was delicious, by far the best Indian we’ve ever had. Will definitely be returning.

Was visiting family over Xmas and not being from the area, went on a recommendation. The food was excellent with about 7 different meals polished off. So can't say I'm a regular, but on that experience, I would have to recommend.

Value for money great food fast service.

Absolutely the very best Indian food I have ever tasted.The portion sizes are generous and the cost was very affordable., We phoned ahead, and the meal was ready to pick up as we arrived, Everything was cooked to perfection, and the counter staff were very well informed and helpful with our dessert selection. The food was easily enough for four people, I would give it 11/10 if that were possible, and twice a month I can now look forward to putting my feet up, and tucking into a delicious meal prepared by the experts, and no dishes to do. Bliss. Thank you Riaz and your team at the Shaheen Tandoori New Inn near Pontypool. Oh yes, and I loved his slogan, 'When you want a real Indian, don't call the Cowboys' Class

Great local tandoori house. An impressive array of curries, breads and other bits. The king prawns were delicious. NB, it’s cash payment only!

Probably the best Indian takeaway in Wales !! ... Food always well prepared and spiced to your taste. Chicken is tender and plentiful, as is the sauce. Ali is one of the nicest people i know, but is a man of few words !!

The food at the Shaheen is fantastic. I've sampled a variety off the menu and they have all been lovely. If you have any special dietary requirements or preferences to how a particular ingredient, just let them know. They are very accommodating. Would totally recommend to everyone.

Potatoes hard in side dish. Chips could have done with a little more cooking which is a shame because otherwise they would have been amazing. Dansac was disappointing. Far too sweet and tasteless. Not hard to bring a flavour to dansac

Riaz runs the best takeaway around in the Shaheen in my view. I dont live in New Inn but do like to pick up a Vindaloo, Dansak, Chicken Tikka or a Bhuna from him when I can. Excellent food and plenty of it. I have known and enjoyed Riaz's superb Indian food for over 30yrs, going back as far as when he ran the Naseeb in Blaenavon which was one of the best if not the best takeaway Curry houses anywhere back then. Never change Riaz, it's worked so well for a long long time. Thanks...
