The best restaurants in Radyr Cardiff South Wales

Slice is one of the cutest cafes I've come across. Their selection of handmade sandwiches, cakes and pastries is so hard to choose from whenever I go in, but I'm never disappointed with my choice. It's a real treat to chat to the friendly staff who let me take my time to decide and serve customers quickly. There's a great range of treats for almost every diet and the staff know plenty about their products to be able to advise on allergens.

Have eaten here several times, never had a bad meal but the service has always been questionable at best. Always seems to have plenty of staff, but, they seem to like to gather behind the bar and chat rather than tend to tables. It’s not a big place, it’s just desperate for the staff to be coordinated to be effective. Seated but no drinks taken, had to prompt for food order. Plates not cleared, had to ask for desert menu, had to ask again to order deserts, had to go to the bar to pay. Given the quality of the food, it’s a real shame, and hard to recommend over the service and on paying is expecting a tip.

Perhaps we timed our visit wrongly, being just after the morning rush but we left disappointed. You pay 'top dollar', so expect the best, but this was some way off. Limited selection of pastries, small 'large black', cold cappuccino, and hot chocolate minus marshmallows even though there was a big jar of them on the counter. And staff were not that welcoming. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day!

I found a short curly black hair god knows what it is pube or beard but it is vile I don’t understand how this has happened but it’s broke my heart this place has been yearly restaurant for me and my family and it has disappointed me today

I go regularly to the Ty Nant as its a good meeting place for family, and we've always enjoyed a meal from te menu. As itcwas a Sunday we thought wexwouldtry a Sunday lunch but we were very disappointed and we couldn't eat it. My daughters beef was very tough and she couldn't eat it and she also left the watery tasteless veg. There was a strange smell to my turkey and both slices were curling up at the edges ( as if it had been pre packed like a microwave dinner) the veg was watery and tasteless and like frozen veg. My granddaughter was unable to eat her 2 chicken strips because they were hard and over cooked but she did eat the beans and chips. No one came to the table to see if all was OK and ask us if our meals were OK . When the waitress came to collect the still two full plates of Sunday lunch i said were sorry but we couldn't eat the Sunday lunches and we explained why and she knew we were disappointed with the meal. She just said sorry and she didnt come back to speak to us so our message was obviously not relaid back to the chef or to her manager. I would like to add, that usually we enjoy the food from the menu but we would not have a Sunday lunch again. My bill was £41 and we didn't eat it. The lemonade came with ice after I had said no ice please in the drinks, but my daughter didn't want to waste that as well so she drank the lemonade We always ask for no ice in our drinks wherever we go.

I said I’d never visit a Starbucks again after my last experience, however here I am paying extortionate prices for average coffee. It’s so overrated! The prices are ridiculous. I wouldn’t mind if I enjoyed what I was purchasing but It was awful. however the staff were always extremely nice when I complained it’s just a shame their products are not.
