We recently rediscovered the Paysanne, after several years away. The host, Cai, is just as welcoming and ebullient as ever, and the food every bit as good as we remember. Menus in some places are so pretentious these days, but not here. Mouth-wateringly descriptive, but when the plates arrive, you'd probably think understated. We had a family visit to a " fish special" event and were absolutely wowed by what was on offer. Flavour combinations to wake even the most jaded palate just kept coming. A comprehensive wine list is another bonus, and the convivial atmosphere just made the gathering very special.

We enjoyed a fantastic cooked breakfast here before our walk along the beautiful West Shore & up to Heulfre Gardens. The breakfast was hot and tasty and excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive. We will be back thank you 10/10

Pros: Access to the spa is included between 6 and 9 am and 6 and 9 pm. Cons: Overrated and largely overpriced hotel. Seems to be a 4star hotel only because of the spa, but service and accommodations are closest to 3star hotels. There are better and cheaper hotels in town. Just go there for the spa.

I’ve been at my mothers side since the early hours in the local hospital, waiting for the inevitable. I missed breakfast, so I walk the mile or two into Deganwy. I see this cafe I’ve not been in before, so I decided to try it. I order eggs on toast and a coffee about 10.00. The young waiter keeps on about his work, and 15 minutes go by. I finish my coffee. 40 minutes (!) have now gone by, and no food! I ask the waiter to check up on my order, frankly I shouldn’t have to ask as there aren’t many customers there anyway. He says they have “Lost My Order” I say I will “just pay for the coffee”, I’m disappointed, hungry, and I’ve had enough. He then disappeared! I have to actually go up myself to pay! I do get an apology, but I don’t even get a free coffee by way of apology! It’s now 10.45, so I return to the hospital hungry. Zero stars for the Olive grove, very poor service.

Beware!!!!!!!!!!! Madras and samba far too spicy, it’s ridiculous!!! we love spicy food but cannot eat it. You are going to kill somebody with this pisstake of spices! Paid good money for this!! Even the butter chicken is spicy, what’s going on ? What a waste of money!! Samosas are vile and onion bajhis are rock hard! Rice is great in the plus side. Warning- don’t bother with this place, nothing less than evil!!!!!!!!!!

Visited with some friends, we hadn’t been for a few years due to a poor experience last time. We waited for over 30 minutes to order a drink, the drinks took a further 15 minutes to be served to the table. The food order was taken and food wait was not too long. I had the chicken wrap, poor presentation basic flavour and a very measly attempt at a salad. The thick chips were over cooked, and not worth the price at all. The kind prawns were also lacking flavour, and were rubbery. A very very disappointing meal, we will not be going back. There are so many fantastic places locally to eat and at a fraction of the price.
