I’ve been at my mothers side since the early hours in the local hospital, waiting for the inevitable. I missed breakfast, so I walk the mile or two into Deganwy. I see this cafe I’ve not been in before, so I decided to try it. I order eggs on toast and a coffee about 10.00. The young waiter keeps on about his work, and 15 minutes go by. I finish my coffee. 40 minutes (!) have now gone by, and no food! I ask the waiter to check up on my order, frankly I shouldn’t have to ask as there aren’t many customers there anyway. He says they have “Lost My Order” I say I will “just pay for the coffee”, I’m disappointed, hungry, and I’ve had enough. He then disappeared! I have to actually go up myself to pay! I do get an apology, but I don’t even get a free coffee by way of apology! It’s now 10.45, so I return to the hospital hungry. Zero stars for the Olive grove, very poor service.

We popped in on the last Friday in August as we were settled with our Grandson and our family crabbing on the little jetty across the road. We had spent more time there than anticipated, and wanted a little eat out lunch. The staff in the cafe were very accommodating when we asked for a takeaway sandwich. The menu looked great and all the options sounded delicious. I had already had a sneaky look at the food on the customers plates and knew that we’d stumbled across a little gem. We went for a simple cheese and ham sandwich for us all (5 of us) as we knew everyone would enjoy it and there’d be no ‘sandwich envy’ if we all had the same. We chose white bread over other options ( the baps looked tempting though!) as we knew it would go down well with 6yo grandson. The filling was fresh and generous. The ham was delicious and thick. Definitely butchers type, not the wet supermarket variety. We were all very impressed and extremely happy with the choice. The icing on the cake was that while I was waiting for the sandwiches to be made I mentioned we were crabbing and would happily use any bin scraps they may have for bait. We came away with, not only a bag of the most delicious sandwiches, but also enough crab bait for all the children on the jetty including our grandson. Thank you!

Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Not one bit of grease to be seen, and everything on the plate tasted delicious. Especially the mushrooms and the sausages. Would highly recommend visiting for breakfast or lunch. Also very lovely and welcoming staff.

We were out for the first day of our holiday and we were glad to find some where to sit and eat. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat outside and had a good view over to Conwy castle across the marina. We had coffee latte, strawberry milkshake and to eat a delicious scone with clotted cream and jam and a spicy latte cake. The food and drinks came quickly and were delicious. The staff were very helpful and we can definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice spot to eat. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Being local we have visited this cafe a few times over the years. Whilst the food has always been consistently lovely the owner has been consistently stone faced and not someone you’d expect to be in the hospitality sector! Reading other reviews and the owners responses you will see for yourselves her attitude. I’m sure she does get repeat custom but trust me it’s for the food and certainly not the atmosphere! Just go to Conwy or Llandudno. More welcoming and you don’t come out stinking of oil (your dogs will be more welcome elsewhere too). A shave really for the rest of this unhappy woman’s team. She lets them down.

One thing I will not stand for is verbal abuse and bullying . The female owner of this establishment is a nasty bully who treats and speaks to her staff appallingly . I visited here with my partner for lunch after we were recommended it by a friend (and given, the food is lovely). Sadly we were “welcomed” by the horrible female owner who looked at us up and down and barked and order at her staff to seat us. She observes them like a controlling dictator , snapping at them for the smallest (and always) minor mistake. They genuinely all look like nervous wrecks . I took one young staff member to one side and asked if she was ok after the owner was vile to her . If anyone spoke to my child like that I’d be furious. The poor male owner (her partner/ husband) looks terrified around her. The owners daughter clearly had preferential treatment in the workplace and she barely cracks a smile either . The decor of the place is lovely and the food is varied and fresh (albeit a little over priced), but the customer service and the atmosphere is nothing short of horrendous . This female owner clearly hates working with the public and lacks even the most basic customer service skills- it’s extremely uncomfortable to watch her speak to customers and her lovely loyal hardworking staff. If the female owner reads this- please alter your behaviour and tone as you’re a bully. Why she works in a public facing list I will never know. The way she is with the public and her staff was honestly like something out of a sketch show - it is that unbelievably rude. I am a strong willed , confident professional and even I was upset and felt intimidated by her . The sooner she retires the better ! What an awful afternoon it was . Absolutely shocking !!!

Whenever I get the inclination to write a review it’s usually because it’s so good and I want to shout about my experience to everyone… however this is not my usual 5* recommendation! As locals we have visited this cafe on a few occasions for breakfast or a coffee stop. It’s a great location, nice decor, dog friendly and delicious food. What’s not to like? Well, the staff, or more specifically the owner! She lacks any customer service skills, she smiles through gritted teeth, orders her staff around while she stands observing (or waiting for an argument). Each time we’ve visited she’s had an issue with something. Once she argued with me because I asked for my latte to be served in a cup rather than a tall glass. She proceeded to try and educate me on coffee making (I’m barista trained)! She reluctantly gave me it to me in a mug with a jug of extra milk which wouldn’t fit into the mug anyway! More recently we arrived, it was quiet, and chose to sit in the window (the largest table) as we had our dog and didn’t want him to be in the way. She rushed over and demanded we sat at another table because she “couldn’t afford for us to take up a larger table”. We moved without an issue but she was very confrontational (as always) and made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that despite being ravenous we almost didn’t order. The cafe remained quiet throughout our time there, plenty of empty tables and yet she proceeded to use the larger window table to accommodate her staff, herself and a friend who popped in. How is that fair? So my advice to you as a fellow catering/ hospitality manager is… Learn from your Trip Advisor feedback, Book yourself on a free customer service course and lead by example and if you are worried about costs reduce the number of staff. 5 staff on duty in a cafe that seats approx 25 people at full capacity is not needed. Maybe the owner should put her feet up at home and let the lovely younger people do their thing. They all look so nervous around her and are almost too afraid to speak. I’m sure they’d do a far better job without her monitoring their every move. Even the Chef (her husband maybe?) looks petrified of her!! Certain people are not cut out for customer facing roles and she is one of them! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t read any of these reviews as she’s been like this since my first visit 5 years ago!! What a shame. This place could be a thriving business and a welcoming village cafe but I’m sure her confrontational attitude and unwelcoming nature put people off from returning. Such a shame as the food and coffee are delightful

My husband and I visited today for a coffee, as we have recently moved to the area. Sadly it will be the last time as the staff generally were miserable and the owner was just down right rude. I asked if she wanted me to pay as I ordered and she replied saying, "Well you've not tasted the coffee yet you might hate it!" Which I thought was a really unprofessional response to make! Overall the customer service was non existent and were made to feel uncomfortable.

Oh dear, where do I start?Rude, stressed, aggressive woman clearly not coping with Covid restrictions very well.Sat outside on 2 chairs, no table (3 tables inside and 2 outside taken).30 minutes to get a tepid coffee, she refused to take the drinks order when we were seated. My companion wanted to move to a table when it became vacant as we’d ordered food. I told her they had to sterilise the (outside) table first. My friend insisted. The woman came out and asked us to move. I assured her we’d not touched the table or put our drinks down. She said people had sat on the chairs. I said well you don’t sterilise the chairs, I’ve seen you doing 2 tables. She told me to leave. Then she told me I was banned and not to go back. (As if).I can’t comment on the food, as I didn’t get any, but my coffee was 2/3 of a cup and cold.I also think the waiting staff should wear a visor or a mask, even if it’s only for yelling at customers!I owned my own very successful business for many years. Stopped in here based on good reviews when we were in the area on holiday. It was in a lovely spot close to harbour. The menu was lovely and all six of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks but we were not so impressed with the customer service we were offered from the lady owner (We believe that's who she was!). It didn't start well when my 91yr old grandad asked for soup (admittedly without a please initially, which she told him off for!!), this clearly didn't get us off to a good start with her! Despite the rest of us being nothing but polite and friendly to her, she was rude and sarcastic! Even when we overly complimented her on the food! I can see that she has had several other reviews based around her curtness! Younger staff were polite enough. She should really be more welcoming and friendly and set a better example to her younger staff with these reviews in mind! Shame!

The location of this cafe is what sets it apart, I feel. It was a cold December day and the sun was shining over the water and into the cafe. Having walked on the beach with my dog, I called in with family for a drink. Archie my dog was allowed inside which was a bonus. We ordered hot chocolate, coffee and tea along with a soft drink. Lots of choice of non-standard cold drinks which was nice. All drinks served promptly. We didn’t eat here but there was a range of cakes (some gluten free) and other people having breakfast who were clearly local. Young teenage girl who served was very friendly- didn’t speak to other staff. Tables a little worse for wear (appeared old) and the toilet needs a bit of tlc but for a quick drink with a gorgeous view it was fab! Thank you!

Stopped for a tea coffee and a bite to eat with my husband and little miniature Yorkie thinking this was a nice cafe ....... wrong ......... tea pots were filthy, sauce bottles were filthy toilet was filthy, rude woman, obviously in need of a customer service course to go on.Ordered a sausage and told them it was for my little doggie, I was even asked if I wanted cut in to pieces so it cooled down, brought out on a bog standard plate, so I let it cool a little more and put the plate on the floor for my dog to eat it.after a while cruella de vil came out barking on about my not letting the dog eat of the plate, she couldn’t possibly have that, a dog eating of a plate, all done in front of other customers, when I told her she should not have given it to me on a plate as she knew it was for the dog, her reply was “ well, how do you expect me to give it to you” er, how about in a plastic food container perhaps, or serviette was my reply, she barked on a little more and stormed of, she was vile and should not have anything to do with customers, To add insult to injury, they are charging top prices for greasy joe,s standards, the only thing this cafe has going for it is the amazing view opposite of ConwySo, my advice to cruella is, instead of worrying about a little dog eating of a plate (we were sat outside I might add) get of your high horse and do some cleaning of the cafe, the toilet, tea pots and sauce bottles would be a good start,

Other in my group had food. See picture. Delicious. I had the most amazing coffee. Read my other posts and you will see I'm a coffee snob, so if you want a great coffee and food, pop in to this cafe.

Came in and the place smelt bad. Sat at a filthy table anyway on the assumption that it would be cleaned. Woman comes over and says ‘I need those chairs for people that have been standing outside’. I said ok, do you have any other chairs for us? She says ‘obviously not or I would have given them to the people outside’. Highly rude and sarcastic response in anyone’s book.

We try and pop in once or twice a month to have the Full Breakfast at the Olive Grove. It's always perfectly cooked, they use fresh local ingredients and it is really tasty! Coffee is great too.

It’s both dog- and human-friendly. The coffee was delicious. I had three bite-sized raspberry macarons which were delicious. Great selection of cold drinks too, wide choice of cakes, including two delicious-looking GF options. Chilled setting, near station and beach walks.

Called for a rest while walking to Deganwy and back. Lovely selection of tea and coffee and the most divine cakes. Definitely worth calling in, definitely worth having cake. Very friendly and accepting of canine friends.

Visited this lovely cafe with a couple friends a few days ago. Breakfast bap was a hearty size and with really good freshly cooked ingredients. They even had haggis as an add on. Coffee was tasty and the staff where faultless.

I was disappointed here today. I arrived and there was no-one in the cafe so I decided to take advantage of the table next to the window to enjoy the view and also have day light to read.

We were only staying a short walk away, so daft not to try. Good sized breakfast, that kept us going for the morning.

Went here because our usual place just down the road was closed. Menu's by the score clipped to a board which felt like you were wading thru' a mountain of stuff. Waitress very pleasant...sadly, the tables were not (wooden and very sticky). Food served on a wooden board which I absolutely loathe. However, they didn't know that. Bread dry. Make that very dry....Dislike people smoking close to the door and the smell drifting in. All in all...ok but would I go back? No

Just had a great breakfast here. Top quality produce and with amazing service. It's a really busy cafe for a quiet town which speaks to how great this place is.

We called on Sunday at around10.00am. The place was quite busy but we managed to get a seat. The service was friendly and the food was excellent and not overpriced. I had the haggis muffin with poached eggs which was a new one for me! It was lovely and very filling. I would definitely recommend

For starters, Do not understand Heather B’s review at all. Owner was warm, welcoming, friendly and the only way she neglected customer service was by spending time amusing a toddler who was visiting. Our service was great, our lattes likewise and the small baked treat we shared was wonderful.

Owner woman face like thunder, not welcoming at all. As the cooking area is so close to eating area it’s a shame the aromas are not that appetising. Keeping the customer happy did not score highly on the agenda here, makes you wonder why some people are in the hospitality trade

Visited here on our visit to Llandudno. We had coffee and cake. The cakes were delicious and a large portion. It’s a very clean cafe. The staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend this cafe. The other food looked very tasty too.

Visited this lovely little garden centre today with my hubbie, sister and brother ( plus 1 very old doggie). Had a lovely lunch, portions were large and lovely, we all struggled to finish our meals. We had already seen the homemade scones and cakes on our way in, so decided to ask for them as a takeaway. The scones were massive and so nice, struggled to eat it 3 hours later. Lemon drizzle cake and Victoria sandwich also got great reviews from the others. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit to this dog friendly cafe and also to potter around the garden centre, so glad we stopped here.

We decided to book for dinner as other restaurants in the area that we wanted were booked up. So glad they were, food was amazing, staff really friendly, great ambience, had a lovely evening.

Ended up here after a theatre show. There was only a small selection of sandwiches but I enjoyed mine and the coffee was good. The staff were lovely. It's basic, it isn't cheap but it was OK.
