Excellent vegetarian food. We had the tagine & quiche both come served with 2 side salads. Coffee was also great. Next time we will try the amazing cakes

We have been to Greenhouse on a few occasions now and it has always been phenomenal. Usually, my partner and I will choose to go to Greenhouse on a Sunday morning for breakfast, as it is our favourite breakfast spot in Powys. There is a huge variety of options to choose from and we are always leaving with very full stomachs. Greenhouse are also very happy to customise orders if there is something that isn’t specifically on the menu. I appreciate this, and the helpfulness of staff does not go unnoticed. I also really enjoy visiting here with my elderly Nan, who loves the change of scenery, and the garden centre next door allows for a lovely morning out of the house for her. The cake selections are also wonderful, and these change quite regularly so we never get bored of indulging in these. I also want to point out how wonderful the iced vanilla lattes with oat milk are. I don’t know what Greenhouse use as their secret ingredient, but it never fails to impress me. Often, I will pop into Greenhouse on my way home for this iced latte in a takeaway cup. I also prefer supporting smaller businesses for coffee, rather than the usual likes of Costa, McDonalds, or Starbucks. We are regular visitors and, of course, will be back!

We have to buy in bulk, and transport talerddig sausage rools over 300 miles for our daughter, that tells you everything you need to know. Lovely bread too

As a wooden sign says on top of their dainty and warm dining room: "we came to this place as strangers and leave as friends". Located in a bucolic scenery, real Wales, the farm is beautiful and cozy. Sarah is the charmest host I´ve ever met and Connie is the sweetest four legs soul you can imagine. I need a ten star ranking to rate breakfast. Top 10!

This is a small volunteer run coffee shop and has great locally roasted coffee served in a variety of ways. The range of locally made Welsh cakes and sponge cakes are delicious. They also have a good number of pies and pasties also made locally and which can be warmed up in the cafe. On a Friday there’s a delivery from a local Artisan baker - you can order in advance and have the best Croissants and Pain au Chocolate for your weekend breakfasts . They sell out quickly. Ice creams and milk shakes are usually available too and you can stay and eat anything that the shops sells as well. The great advantage of being served by locals is that you can find out all about the locality and have real insight about what to do and what to miss! Many local people use the cafe and shop too so there’s always someone to offer advice or information( during my visit I overheard a local man reassure a visitor that he’d drop him off in Hay if he’d just wait a few minutes for him to get a coffee - he was going that way anyway! ) The shop stocks a surprisingly wide range of goods which is helpful for last minute needs and there’s a great range of locally produced cards. And there’s a super small play park next door ( with an Iron Age replica dwelling) and some lovely tubs of flowers in front of the shop which enhance the outside area. And the views from the park are stunning.

As I am Gluten intolerant I am quite anxious about eating out, but I had a lovely meal at the Colliers yesterday afternoon. The staff were so friendly and there was no fuss. They were able to tell me what meals were Gluten free & were happy to adapt other meals if I wanted, nothing was to much trouble for them. I had a delicious meal at a great price in a lovely environment. I will definitely be going there again.

We visited this restaurant as a party of 12 to celebrate a 60th birthday, apart from a child aged 4 the rest of the table were adults. Julie, the owner, went out of her way to make us and the 4 Yr old very welcome. The whole experience was marred by some other diners (women) who were making comments about us being 'rough' and tutting that we were making to much noise when the 4yr old was laughing. Lovely pub but horrible clientele

Sorry Not what it was! Food had mixed reviews at our table Starters: Tight with the gluten free bread (ONE little slice with all that lush duck pate to go with it?! )… for the sake of a few pence please divvy up! Main was nice but pork chops had a huge layer of fat (my dogs will love).. so not much actual meat. Dauphinoise pots nice but I like more creamy sauce (zero here) My pudding (like a crème brûlée but without the lovely crispy top) wasn’t good and the fruit with it tasted old and I don’t think it worked (flavours). BF’s profiteroles yummy! Service lovely View to die for (and might with the church next door haha!)

We popped into Gorkha & Khukuri for a last minute bite to eat on a hiking trip. We were a little unsure at first as the restaurant is in a golf club house and was very quiet due to the weather. DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF! We were greeted with a warm welcome and talked through some recommendations by the owner, a really nice young guy. We had starters and mains and it was all authentic, fresh and absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend the chicken fried momos! Chatted with the owner for a while after dinner who is a really friendly interesting guy to talk to. Can’t recommend this place enough. If you are after good quality street food, good portions and great value for money then look no further. JUST GO!

Absolutely fantastic staff and food outstanding. I have been to five star restaurants that are not as good as this. Can’t wait to return. Thank you a fantastic meal.

We were staying in Hay and Drover offer the only charger for electric vehicles in the town (and it's free). They were generous with their suggestions of using it overnight. They sell maps for local road and MTB rides too, so after we'd been out on one, we stopped by for a coffee and cake. They sell energy bars and gels too, if you're stocking up before or during a ride. A very friendly team!

As visitors to the area we popped in to be nosey and were so impressed with the welcoming warm atmosphere that greeted us inside. The cream tea was perfect, beautiful homemade scone and playing scrabble infront of an open fire with refreshments was so relaxing, we loved how there were so many zonal areas to the cross keys with plenty to keep both kids and adults entertained and the secret garden at the rear is stunning, we will be back for sure thankyou very much.

Travelling to Lake Vyrnwy and stopped at the cafe sign for a mid morning break on the journey. Fabulous well cooked fry up and friendly service at a very good price. I’d definitely drive 100 miles again for the food.

Lovely convenient place to stop for lunch enroute for North Wales. Discovered this little gem by chance and we are so glad we did. Tasty fresh food reasonably priced. Friendly staff who keep the premises clean and welcoming. better We visit several times a year since finding it about three years ago. Do not pass it looking for better. You will pay at least double and not eat so well.
