Absolutely fantastic homemade cakes and coffee, such friendly staff. We were passing on our way for a walk to a local landmark, they were shut, but preparing cakes for the following day. They said come in anyway, a real suprise in itself. We had a fabulous cake and coffee. And to top it off they were dog friendly. 10/10 👍

Myself and my husband were staying at a local campsite this weekend and had a stroll down to Elsie’s on Saturday. The tea room is lovely, well decorated and full of personality! My husband had the beef bourguignon pie with a Yorkshire and gravy. I had the soup - which came with a heart shaped roll (I was very impressed with this) I also had a pot of tea and to finish I had a lemon and blueberry scone which I can only describe as THE BEST scone I have ever had in my life … and I’ve put a few scones away in my time!!! The lady serving us was also very lovely If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stop by and visit 🥰

What a little gem of a place. We went in at 3.30pm and we were not expecting to eat there, as they close at 4pm however, the lovely lady said it was no problem.. so we had the most gorgeous bacon and egg sandwich amd my daughter had this incredible cinnamon bun, washed down with a larhe pot of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I did buy dome goodies to take home too and as she was closing, she very kindly did some deals for us, which we were extremely grateful for. The atmosphere is cozy and I highly recommend that you pop by. We are only around 30mins away but I saw a post on fb, so we decided to head out especially. The food was absolutely delicious! We will most definitely be going back.

My family and I have visited Elsie's on a number of occasions and have never been unhappy with the service or the quality of food. My husband is very hard to please when it comes to a scone but he was raving about the white chocolate and raspberry scone. the staff are friendly and courteous and make the experience pleasurable. They have a good knowledge of allergens and.the coeliac in our family has loved the gluten free bakes she has tried so far.

My partner and I have visited Elsie's Vintage Tea Room several times now, and each time has been a delight! As you enter Elsie's, you find a small, cosy Tea Room that is decorated in a wonderful vintage style. There are some beautiful vintage tea sets or even individual pieces within the decor that are lovely to look at during your meal. There is always a friendly, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door here which is very relaxing. The food is wonderful, and ALL homemade - their pies are the best I've ever had, with the most delicious pastry casing that is packed full of whatever filling you've chosen. Most of the pies also have a pastry lid but you will find some open pies, depending on what flavours are available the day you go in. They always have a good selection of pies to choose from, including at least one vegetarian option. There's also a choice in how you'd like your pies served - by themselves, with mash, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy or (my favourite) with buttered new potatoes and coleslaw. I've noticed that the coleslaw ingredients vary slightly each time I've been too, which is a great idea. No matter how full you are, it's extremely easy to be tempted by a dessert and/or cake here, as they always look so scrumptious! It's so difficult to pick one, so I decided to have some lemon cheesecake and take home a raspberry and white chocolate scone. I did mean to take a photograph of my pie (beetroot, goat's cheese, pine nuts & pesto, if I recall correctly), but it looked so good when it came that I couldn't help but tuck in immediately. I have however taken a photo of my finished plate, to show the intention was there, and how delicious it must have been for me to have an empty plate. 😃 I did however manage to photograph our desserts. As previously mentioned I had the lemon cheesecake. My partner chose a version of a bakewell tart that had ginger & rhubarb frangipane (if I recall correctly, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We both left feeling extremely full and happy and agreed we'd be visiting Elsie's again soon. We did visit again, around a month after my original review (above) was posted. This time we decided to phone ahead of time to reserve a table, and it was a good job we did! We had the usual warm welcome, and again the quality of the food was fantastic. By the time we got there (2pm) a lot of the pies had already sold, so we were left with two to choose from. Other items are available though if you don't want a pie, such as paninis. One last thing, do make sure you have some change with you when you go. This is one of those places where you will absolutely want to leave a tip!

It's 2021, the fact that you offer no vegan options and seem proud of it by clearly saying "we do not offer vegan options" makes this a place where I and other vegans should stay well away from. It sounds like you have something against vegans and you do not want their custom, and you have no intention of changing with the times and changing your outdated ways. You could still offer a Vintage experience and offer modern food.

What an amazing place to find. Looking online before heading to the area I was intruiged by this little place so we decided to stop off on route. The food was amazing, sausages were fresh from the butcher next door, my partners tuna panini was top draw and she had a cherry cha cha cake for dessert which was "cherrytastic" (her word and she adores cherries). I wanted a scone with cream and jam (which is my go to with places like this) and they recommended the rasberry and white chocolate scone over the sultana and my word was it to die for. The interior design is quitky and very nice ambiance. The best thing about it though are the people working there who were not just nice and accommodating to us as customers but we all chatting like people you meet at a party or as friends, sharing stories, laughing and joking and were true reflections of their community which just makes you want to come back (we went through on Wednesday and are going in again in Friday when heading home it was that good).
