This b&b is in a great location. Gale and John are the perfect hosts. Nothing is to much trouble. The room was perfect nice an spacious. Had a great 5 night sleep here and definitely returning for future events.

Overall a lovely meal We had to wait at reception and were then told to seat at the only table set for 3 people but weren’t taken to table Initially service was a bit slow but it did improve Staff were polite and friendly Food was good, fresh and very tasty

A friendly welcome and excellent Sunday lunch. Marvellous choice of desserts. And an added bonus of being introduced to the locals who were very entertaining. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

I posted a review on Boxing Day but deleted whilst we wrote to hotel to seek some answers. They have responded saying they were short staged due to staff sickness and the lunch was spoiled due to a power cut. Unfortunately I do not consider their response to be satisfactory so post again. There was no excuse for their error in getting our lunch time wrong, gruff and unfriendly staff, lack of Christmas cheer and decorations, no fires in grates and worst of all an appalling dinner. Of course it is understood that for that day their overheads were very high especially in staff costs. Their cheapest item for that day were the lunch ingredients. Their main course comprised of processed turkey, five sprouts, two roasties, uncooked pig in blanket, slither of carrot and parsnip, and their ‘plum pudding’ was a catering individual Xmas pudding. All served grudgingly. Even got pre ordered wine wrong. It was an amateurish hapless experience. It ruined our day and at £85 per head left a bad taste. Only saving grace not actually staying as some on a package.

Drove around 5 hours to get here and it was worth every second. The staff and owner were lovely, friendly locals, the steak was impeccable and all round a lovely experience. If I ever end up in wales again, I’ll be sure to head back!
