This b&b is in a great location. Gale and John are the perfect hosts. Nothing is to much trouble. The room was perfect nice an spacious. Had a great 5 night sleep here and definitely returning for future events.

A friendly welcome and excellent Sunday lunch. Marvellous choice of desserts. And an added bonus of being introduced to the locals who were very entertaining. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We visited today as we were out on the bikes. After an hours ride to get there we got a table and went inside to order food and a drink. We were then told food would be about 30min wait. We said that was fine, we were then told that it was likely they wouldn’t be able to serve us any food even if we wait any 30mins. A little disappointed we asked to get some cold drinks and were told sorry they are too busy and short staffed to do any drinks. In the time it was taken to say this, they could have done 3 cold drinks. We were told Morrisons was around the corner though so to go there! Having run a family owned restaurant I appreciate finding staff is hard but I’ve never experienced a welcome like this before. We went here because we had heard good things, I won’t be in a rush to return.

We enjoyed an evening meal during out stay at Llangoed Hall. The staff were very professional, worked hard and the service was good. I would however suggest that there were not enough staff to manage services, the young lady server was kept busy continuously. The Maitre de was the only other person in the restaurant, who was also busy. He apologised when he realised I had refilled our wine glasses after he had been out of the restaurant for several minutes. I enjoyed our meals and in particular the Venison Loin, but a couple more slices would have been appreciated in addition to the two on my plate! Interestingly the warm bread before our starter was very tasty particularly with the marmite butter, which the Maitre de recommended. My only feedback is that some quiet background music would have increased the overall ambiance.

Casual Pub dining in a traditional pub setting with woodburners for cold winter nights (it has rooms, too.), Parking right outside.
