The best restaurants in Aberaeron Ceredigion Mid Wales

We called into the Black Lion in Aberaeron about 2:30 for some lunch. The two of us, plus our granddaughter and the dog. I asked if we were ok to bring the dog in and was told he was more that welcome. He got served before us as once we were seated they brought him a bowl of water! We ordered drinks and food. The food was exceptional. (We asked for and was given a takeaway container to take what we didn't eat home, it was that nice. We would 100% recommend going there, and will be visiting again ourselves. Very friendly and helpful staff (all three of the ones who we spoke to) 6 stars all the way as I can't give a 5 plus.

We visited your previous location two years ago and knew we absolutely had to book again this year as we were back in town. The experience and vibe was different in your new location but I have to say the food was still as amazing as our last visit and the team front of house were brilliant ( we didn’t realise you’d changed location so when we called the lovely lady she even gave us the walking instructions to your new location 🤦‍♀️😂) Food, wine, ambience and hospitality super value! Menu choice enough to please everyone, portion size is superb, wine menu fabulous ( recommend the organic primitivo red if you like red) Attentive, yet you have space to enjoy every moment!

We had the goats cheese and scallops to start, fillet steak and pork belly for mains with a side of seasonal veg and were too full for desert. It was great quality, very well cooked tasty food combined with fantastic service. A great visit!

Quiet in a wet Sunday. Perfect for us for lunch. The burger was excellent. Full of flavour and cooked nicely. Chips could have been a bigger portion but good. Wife loved her veggie lasagne. Son had a good ham egg & chips. Great pint of Largo as well (sunk a couple of those the weekend before with uni friends). Great food. And some cheeky games of pool after.

Visited with a friend for the festive afternoon tea. It was served beautifully on a large board. Lovely selection of sandwiches and savorues as well as desserts. Lovely non alcoholic mulled wine too and lots of tea. Perfect afternoon.

Lovely ambience in hotel - bit bemused to see someone waiting on tables so casually dressed in shorts -starter was tasty and well presented - mackerel pate - could have done with one more slice of bread - good selection of vegetables well cooked with main but beef was a n]bit tough - cheese and biscuits were good - wine by the glass was expensive

Ate in this restaurant every evening - friendly staff and superb views over the bay added to the atmosphere. The food was good, plenty of choice from a varied menu. Excellent wine list obviously compiled by an oenophile.

Great singer on when I was there however there was a strange man dancing with a pool cue which made me feel slight uncomfortable, apart from this what a great pub 🤩

Went in on the off chance and didn’t have to book. Staff great and food was lovely and big portions. I had faggots and chips and my daughter’s pizza was huge. Not bad prices too. Will definitely be back.

Omg some of the best food we have tasted From start to finish the staff we amazing, a little gold mine for sure , a taste sensation, the chef is to be commended ♥️
