Very friendly staff and good food

Had the must wonderful meal with our old parents. They had cod and chips, the wife had scampi and I had the burgers faggots and gravy with chips, which maybe had were the best I have eaten in years!

Visited today, lovely food, all hot and tasted fresh, chips were best chips we’ve had in a while, fast polite service, definitely good value for money - will be returning

Took my 1 year old daughter out for food which was lovely until the atmosphere was ruined when i realised there was no baby changing unit even though there was a sign for one on the toilet door. i had to change my child on the toilet floor which is extremely unhygienic. i appreciate there has been renovations but taking away a baby changing unit and still having the sign up for it is just awful. to anyone thinking of going here and you have young children then i don’t advise it as you will have to change them on the toilet floor.

Popped to aberaeron one day while staying in new quay,while wandering through the town we came across this place and had to pay a visit and so glad we did, has to be one of the best breakfast I've ever had and at a good price too. Highly recommended and ill definitely be back here

I visited The New Celtic with my family for lunch today. My husband and I both agreed that it was the best fish and chips we’ve had in years. The chips in particular were absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, the pricing was really good value, and the location of the restaurant is fantastic - right by the harbour. We will definitely be back soon. There are a couple of things that families like ours might want to be aware of when planning your visit. First is that you may need to queue for a little while to get in. If you can keep the kids happy during that time, it is worth it! Second, they are in the process of refurbishing their toilets and there are currently no baby changing facilities. You need to go to the pub next door for nappy changes. Hopefully those facilities will be installed soon, but in the meantime if you have a baby you will need to take them next door.

Lovely place to go for food. Polite and friendly service, nice atmosphere and we all enjoyed our food. Katsu curry was one of the nicest i have ever had

Take away. Best fish & chips in Aberaeron.

Went for breakfast. Tried the Celtic breakfast and it was absolutely superb. Large portion, well presented and extremely tasty. I often visit for their fish and chips, which are equally outstanding. I am a regular visitor to Aberaeron and always try and make a point of calling in.

Excellent. Very busy, but very efficient staff. Good value . Lovely setting. Right on the harbour.

You will have to travel a very long way to get better fish and chips than this place and I've had some goog ones worth a visit to Aberaeron just for the fish and chips here

Staying in the area over half term with the children. We visited 3 times over the course of the week, every time was brilliant. The staff were friendly, smiley and couldn’t do enough for you. From what we gathered, the restaurant has recently been refurbished and what a refit it is. It felt like home from home, comfortable, warm and inviting. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again. Well done! See you soon!

Not for me , I found chips under done , fish , batter was under cooked outside crispy , but inside not .

We've been going to the Celtic every month for the last 9 years but tonight was the worst service we've ever had! We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, our drinks order was taken quite quickly but 30 minutes later we were still waiting for our food order to be taken. The table next to us had their food as we had our drinks, they'd even had their dessert order taken and brought to them whilst we were still waiting to have our food order taken. They've had a refurbishment done but the service was very poor, unfortunately, due to the poor customer service, we won't be back! Very disappointed!

Decided to pop on for breakfast on our way back from a couple of days away. We had seen this place on the first day and thought we must try. Service friendly, food hot and delicious, my egg was a little undercooked for my liking but each to their own. The premises are well kept and the view out onto the harbour is spectacular. A little gem in the middle of a beautiful unspoiled town.

By far the nicest chippy in Aberaeron. Others might try and replicate but they don't even come close! Don't bother going anywhere else. 👌

Excellent all-round restaurant, prompt service, 8 meals on the table together, clean and tidy. Visited today having driven over 90 miles in high winds and heavy rain.

The Christmas dinner 2023 is not worth the money. The price goes up but the amount you are served gets less . One small roast potatoe.!! Tiny parsnip, pre packed turkey .

I coming here for years and usually every 2-3 months especially summer ... It's a nice local place to come and the food is very very very good ! Other restaurants offer same price but less quality and quantity. Here you eat tasty food like your mum done it for you. Perhaps that's why I am constantly coming here ... I am the king of Siluria and Gepis 😜 and I recommend this place !

Travelled to Aberaeron for a walk along the coast. Looked online beforehand and chose to dine in the New Celtic Restaurant. It being a very cold day, we decided to order Beef Cawl for our lunch and were not disappointed it was gorgeous. Highly recommend it, staff very friendly, and prices reasonable as well. We will definately be back.

Staff and service brilliant as is the food 👌

Very disappointing. We had the “Special” which was Karaku chicken curry. It consisted of a fried southern chicken burger cut up with chipshop curry £13.95! The best part of the meal was the Diet Coke that washed it down. Very poor effort

Very good quality fish and chips. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Can get very busy. Only downside was it was a very hot day and the restaurant was very hot and stuffy.

The New Celtic offers grilled fish and chips if you are coeliac. I chose instead to have the bacon steak and chips which was stunningly tasty. The staff were extremely helpful and aware of coeliac disease, intolerances etc. I was impressed.

Staying in new quay we decided to go to Aberaeron for the day. After a little walk around we decided on the Celtic. We didn’t expect it to be that busy on a Tuesday. There was a little wait but we were in no rush. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who sat us and a couple of minutes later we were served. I had fish and chips and my partner had the hunters chicken. Everything was delicious. To full for desserts. maybe next time. Will definitely be returning.

We’ve been here a few times now, becuase it’s so hard to find somewhere that caters for coeliacs. When you find somewhere you trust it’s great. Unfortunately after our latest visit yesterday, my partner got glutened and spent the rest of the day very poorly. I’m afraid we can’t trust this place any more which is very unfortunate.

This place is so nice and friendly I had fish and chips which were lovely my wife had the lasagne which was also lovely.

Excellent food, not too expensive, good service

Went in for Pizza's and Fish & Chips to takeaway. All food was cooked to perfection and only a short wait. The pizza was amazing, stone baked with fresh ingredients. Non of the food was greasy at all. Fish & Chips was cooked perfect and tasted great. Highly recommended to eat in or takeaway if you are staying locally.

My husband and I were staying in the area and our host recommend the New Celtic Restaurant. We went for breakfast at first and enjoyed it so much we went back for an evening meal. Both visits were exceptional, we couldn't fault it. The food came out hot and fresh, my wife had the sea bass and I went for the cod, both dishes were very tasty! Will definitely return when we are back in the area.

I ordered a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich, my wife chose fish and chips. DREADFUL ! The worst toasted sandwich I've ever endured - barely toasted supermarket white bread, plastic cheese and under ripe tomatoes. A few token spinach leaves doused with a shop bought...

Lovely Sunday dinner for two on a visit to the town. Lamb and chicken dinner with all the trimings was great, cooked Lovely and plenty of it. We'll recommend, will return soon.

We had fish and chips to take away from the new celtic. The chips and fish were lovely but a large portion of chips was a bit on the small side! It's good that it doesn't come wrapped up in paper but in a cardboard take away box. Very nice fresh fish and chips.

A gem in a quiet corner of wales

Celebrate my daughters birthday her favourite place to eat but she paased away nearly 3 years ago her 35th birthday this would have been. Treated really badly attitudes stunk no professionlusm by staff been many times before never again foid quality gone down tge tubes...

A really wonderful place to eat on the west coast of Wales. It can be difficult to find parking, so try to scout that issue out.

Great stop for lunch, husband said the Moules Mariniere from the tapas menu were the best he'd ever had!

Normally not not a bad place to eat from. But last night's food was awful. £51 spent and what I received was greasy and miniscule. I ordered a large cod and chips and what I received was a child portion of chips with the fish laid on top to hide how little chips there were. To top it all off they forget my daughter's sausages, very disappointed. Nobody finished their food, which says a lot. A waste of time and money!

The food is great. The service is very good. Although there are a few sets of steps, the staff are more than happy to put out a temporary ramp down for wheelchair access to the inside tables. They had a separate printed out menu with all of their vegan dishes. Just a side note, the loos are not wheelchair accessible.

Nice chips but the rissole let you down. How about a corn beef rissoles? Staff very friendly and attentive. Chips were awesome as it was so busy it made it fresh!

We come here every year during our holiday and the fish and chips are always fantastic. We can also recommend the curry with 'half and half' chips and rice. Friendly and efficient staff are always on hand to look after us. Highly recommended.

We decided to have our supper whilst sat at the harbour side and we chose fish & chips. They were delicious & the helpings quite generous. The staff were pleasant but sadly the weather wasn’t.

Didn't like the freezer to table battered cod - wet and tasteless. This place used to serve fresh fish and was renowned for quality food, sadly no more.

Great for our multiple allergies and intolerances. Even the childrens menu had considered allergens which is rare! Pudding available too, added bonus. 4 Happy tummies and no reactions. Separate gluten free menu and the allergen info was in one sheet, not a massive folder like most places give. The manager of the day put us at ease and knew what was safe. They also have an ice cream parlour which has gluten free cones (but they had sold out) ice cream and sorbet delicious!

Eaten here several times, always enjoy the food which is served hot & of good sized portions The staff are great. My only criticism this time is that the salad on the fish & salad was literally a very small lettuce garnish. Wont stop us...

Family lived in Aberaeron so have spent many summers here, always delicious chips! Saturday we had chips and sat on the pier wall. It was delicious!

Memories of the past when the owners cooked great chip shop grub took me back! It was fathers day so we stopped for fish and chips! It was mega busy for the restaurant but we wanted take out! Fish and chips £19.60 and was awful! The fish batter not cooked on the inside and a grey tinge to the fish which wasn't cooked enough.. and then had about 15 chips! Was to far away from chip shop to take back and also I've worked in chip shops so as soon as i turned the fish over i though dodg The 2 boys taking your order and cooking didn't care! Dark haired one served up and didn't put salt and vinegar on even though I'd double checked he said he had! Their ripping off tourists and locals and have no care for delivering good quality food! I ate a cooked part on and i had the runs 🙈! Go to the other chippy ! This ones gone down hill the price of paying teenagers instead of a fair wage to an adult who done food hygiene!

Great food great service. I had lasagne and so tasty. My Husband had Cod and Chips and the best in years. Eat here last two nights and great value. Battered onion rings awesome.

The food was tasty and the premises were clean.Took a star away for service as I waited a good 5-10 minutes waiting at the till to pay my bill. There were loads of staff but it seemed only one was allowed to use the till.

Very basic restaurant which is basically a glammed up chippy. Food was lacking a little taste but was quick. Quite pricey for what it is.

This is a modern and stylish looking restaurant / fish & chips shop / ice cream shop! It's clean and possibly one of the nicest shops I have visited during my travels in the UK. I purchased 1 large cod & chips that was supplied in a nice box and cost just over £10. Both the cod & chips were ok, however being an honest reviewer I cannot say they were the best fish & chips I have ever had, but they were certainly good. The cod wasn't as chunky or white as some I've had, the chips were a little dried up and varied in size, and the batter was not as crispy as some. But if you are in the area this is a very nice place to eat 😃

This is a very busy fish and chip shop that does not just sell fish and chips! We visited it at 1pm on a wendsday, it was busy, but we seated very quickly and the staff were great and not pushy in getting your order. Service was fast, and the portion sizes are big, we had fish and chips with mushy peas. All I can say is that it was very nice, very hot and plenty on the plate. You could if you wanted have soft drinks coffee or even draft beers, sadly I was duty driver so having beer and fish and chips will have to wait for another time. In summary if you are hungry and in Aberaeron do have a look at what they have to offer, I enjoyed meal and thought it was reasonably priced and worth the money.

Had the best eggs benedict ever and was thankful I found this place after discovering the hotel I was staying at opposite didn't serve breakfast. Would totally recommend this place - really friendly and welcoming staff too.
