Absolutely love the fish and chips from here. Will always pay a visit whenever we are in the area.

Absolutely disgusting food. Chips were hard as nails and soaked in oil! The fish was not in batter, a really weird texture, soaked in oil. Visited the area for the weekend. Very disappointed and stay away!

This was a delightful surprise! We got fish and chips takeaway from Pendre on a Saturday evening while visiting Cardigan. It was some of the best we’ve had in a while — fresh, flavorful, not too greasy. Very nice staff as well. Highly recommend!

I lived in the south coast for many years and had some of the best fish and chips around. I’ve tried most of the others around this area, but I have to say this is probably up there with the best. Clean, tidy, friendly and the food is second to none. 5 ⭐️

Disappointed today with our Cod and Chips , Very Greasy and not sure if the Chips were re heated as they were dripping and full of oil , this has happened now on our last 2 visits , we did say before we wouldn't be going there again but we did , Our Mistake .

Had 2 fish and chips last night. We always call after visiting cardigan. Havr done for years. It's always been lovely food but last night The fish was tiny was more batter than fish the chips were crispy and hard, the curry sauce was dry and lumpy it was very disappointing.

Popped in for some dinner after a long journey. Staff ever so friendly and helpful. Food served promptly. Great with the family too. Would go again!

We have eaten here many times on our visits to cardigan and one thing is for sure you always get a warm welcome. We stopped for dinner last night before a trip to the cinema, 5* service they even went out of their way to cook fresh onion rings rather than frozen premade which was amazing. We had haddock n chips, cod n chips and a kids nuggets meal plus onion rings, food was lovely fresh, hot and the right amount of batter and not greasy at all. We ate in and its been decorated well, nice touch with all the florals mixed with seaside theme. Thank you for another great meal 😋 sorry forgot to take photos as we just dived in.

Very expensive for a small piece of Haddock, average chips and a tiny pot of curry sauce. Fish small but ok, chips average at best. Friendly service is the best point!

Lovely Chips and the best gravy in the village. The food was quick to make and the sausage satisfied my hunger needs. The staff were polite and just exquisite.

We arrived here at 8pm on a Wednesday, everywhere was either closed or take away only. We came across this fish and chip shop and the manager put out tables and chair for us as the restaurant section was closed, bought us food out and couldn't be more accommodating. Food was beautiful and great sized too!

Amazingly quick, efficient and polite service! Big order for family was no problem and ready in a matter of minutes. All tasty and piping hot. An excellent chippie!

Amazing food. Fish and chips and a cheese burger were ordered for myself and my partner. I was able to order a child's sized portion for myself, which not only was heaps of food for me, but also really nice as a lot of places don't allow adults to order child's sized portions for themselves. Would definitely go again when next in the area

Popped in for a take away, excellent clean establishment, what impressed me the most was the staff were all suited and booted, all looked very dapper in their uniforms, and so friendly, cod and chips was very nice too, non greasy, highly recommend whilst visiting Cardigan

Came to get dinner takeaway. Popular chippy but I got my order in good time. Food was nice and not super oily, they also had small sausages not just the jumbo ones which was nice. Curry sauce was a little watery but still tasted good. Prices were also really good. Overall nice chippy would recommend.

Chips undercooked and curry sauce was watered down, didn't taste very nice. Don't know whether it was a one off or? The staff were friendly and it was clean. But their large size chips are medium sized and cost £6 for undercooked chips, watery curry sauce and a can of pop.

Alway find the same things when i use this place. Spotlessly clean. Staff are smartly dressed. Staff are friendly and polite. Food is cooked perfectly, presented properly. Price is very competitive compared to other establishments. I say this shop is "Consistently Good"

They could take some good advice from other good chippies such as Narberth and Whitland. Any visitors to Wales should note that this is not a good representation of what Wales can do with their chips, to avoid disappointment please go somewhere else. I regret spending my hard earned money on a poor excuse of fish and chips.

Called in to the cafe last week for some chips. The chips were excellent. The staff there are very polite and friendly. It is well worth a visit when you are in cardigan.

Been in this neck of the woods all week. Often have fish and chips. This is the third time and by far the best. Others have been in locations where you would expect better. However this is the winner by a mile. Big piece of fish light batter and perfectly cooked accompanied by the right amount of good chips. On top of this very pleasant service. I will say again excellent.

Had a cracking day out with the family on a local beach, not wanting to cook on the return to our holiday cottage, fish and chips was the order of the day. Came across this place on our way home, quite a find. Maybe a little pricey but as they say, you get what you pay for. Biggest fish I've seen for a bit, cooked fresh, couldn't fault it. Mushy peas were nigh on perfect, just as I like them. Staff courteous and efficient. Well done. Impressed.

Not usually a huge fish and chip eater but this place has converted me. The staff are young, friendly and welcoming and the food is simply excellent: fish cooked while-you-wait and it's packed as you want: in a box or traditionally wrapped in paper.

Visited this fish and chip shop last Saturday evening.We arrived late around 8.30pm and were greeted by the friendly young staff. We ordered cod & chips which was cooked fresh. The food was delicious and prepared without delay. It was good value for money and we found the staff to be really nice. This is the second visit in the last 2 weeks and the standard has been the same. Will be returning.

Not sure why it says it's closed down, we certainly had fish and chips there... fish was average but the customer service was outstanding. Actually, more than outstanding, probably the best i have ever received, it's worth a visit only to experience this part. Honestly. I have visited many places around the world but they all should learn from the employees of this establishment.

Without doubt, the best fish and chips in West Wales... bar none. Excellent food, well cooked, in clean surroundings with the added bonus of friendly staff. Well worth the nineteen mile trip.

We went twice to this fish and chips to eat outside. The people were very friendly and the food good.

Went here for lunch in late October and ordered fish, chips and a cup of tea. The waitress asked if I wanted mushy peas and I thought she meant that these would normally come with the dish.The off-street door opens directly into the large dining room so that I felt quite cold on such a chilly day. I was thus quite pleased to get the warming cup of tea very quickly.

Have to say I went here based on reviews, the chips were very soggy and greasy.

Very helpful staff, cod was cooked in minutes and fresh into the fryer! All round a very good experience and would recommend to anyone!

Llegó aquí ayer para un almuerzo con mi padre. Ofrecen llevar y sentar las comidas. Nos decidimos a sentarnos. Mucho espacio para sentarse. Buena selección de comida y bebidas (frías y calientes) en el menú. Ambos decidimos para lasaña y patatas fritas. Era delicioso y abundante. También tuve un chocolate caliente mientras papá tenía un café. El calentamiento en un día frío, viento de noviembre! El servicio era muy amable y rápido también - no nos hicieron esperar mucho tiempo. Me gustaría volver aquí de nuevo.

A través parado en Gales y comí patatas fritas de pescado guisantes blandos y salsa curry, etc. té Porciones grandes y parecía bastante bueno, pero ambos sufrieron más tarde. Personal orden amable y servicial en la barra sirve a la mesa. Sería cauteloso de visitar y evitaría el pescado. Pan y mantequilla y margarina extiende demasiado gruesas demasiado grueso. Sobre 20 libras por mucho. Decoración café básico.

After a hard day of cycling , a group of us passed this shop, the staff were very friendly - and very accommodating - they made us curry sauce which was suitable for veg however the food was terrible - the chips did not taste fresh, the fish despite being made fresh was very greasy and oily , the curry sauce was very salty - spoilt a lovely day , this review is purely based on the actual food, I would advise you to walk STRAIGHT past this place.

We were looking for a place to snack but did not fancy fish and chips. We went round the corner of the Pendre Cafe and found the extension to Pendre Cafe, saving ice cream, smoothies of every kind. We first of all had jacket potatoes which were scrumptious; ordered coffee and smoothies. I had a very unusual smoothie, which was mango, chilli and lime, annd superb. I shall be trying to make this at home as we have a smoothie maker.

We visited cardigan and had no idea where to go for some lunch. We popped into the Pendre Cafe and was not disappointed. Plenty of tables and you order at the counter. Food was reasonably priced and the fish was lovely. The portion sizes were good too. Worth popping into for lunch/dinner.

This place always delivers good value food with a polite and friendly manner. The sit down area is clean and functional and they have a varied menu. This place does what it says on the tin, hence why it gets an excellent rating.

Great service, freshly cooked fish chips and the normal 'chip shop fare' and large portions at reasonable prices, what's not to like?

I live round the corner and I have used them a few times unfortunately they are always hit and miss sometimes the chips are hard and old and the first saveloys I had was beef then I had a nice meal another time and the saveloys was finally pork and now today I'm not sure if it's beef or pork!

Absolut einer der besten Fish & Chips Läden in Wales. Selten so guten, frischen Fisch gegessen, insbesondere der Haddock ist eine absolute Empfehlung! Nur die Chips leider sind eher Durchschnitt, dafür sind die Baked Potates sehr lecker.Innen bietet der Laden sehr viel Platz, der Service ist nett und flink.Unbedingt ausprobieren wenn man durch Cardigan kommt!

We wanted something quick to eat, well we wanted fish and chips, had a quick look on trip advisor and found this place. I had fish and chips and curry sauce and had a bit of gravy that my friend had and I loved that. The chips were delicious and the fish was pretty good too. I found out it was frozen in the fishing ships and then defrosted and cooked, not sure what that does to the fish but I have not heard of this before but never asked either, I will be looking into this from now on and asking other fish shops to see what they think.Anyway it was all nice and I would go back if I was in town.

These folk are hard working and their work pays off. Spotlessly clean with plenty of seating you could fit a coach party in there. Nice chips and fresh tasty fish with a lovely batter. smashing.

An excellent traditional chippy, with seating area available at certain times. Always a friendly cheerful welcome and a good selection of the food you would expect in a chip shop, served in healthy portions. On occasions you have to queue for your food but this is a reflection on its popularity locally added to the fact it keeps long and regular opening hours so no risk of turning up to a closed sign.

As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted with lovely smiles and a very warm and welcoming 'Hello!' Or 'Shwt Mae!'. The place is spotless and nothing is out of place. Like a pin in paper! I was also pleased to find that the menu had a great amount of choice- from 3 types of fish, to burgers, to jackets! Very tasty and large portion food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. No wonder the family that's running this business is still going after 10 YEARS in the business. Thank you very much the Gigante family.

There has been a cafe on this site as far back as I can remember. The staff are friendly and welcoming as well as been well presented in there white shirts black ties (very smart) which I think is unusual for a chippy. The food tasted great. Enough said.

We had fish and chips from here on an evening when two of the restaurants we tried wouldn't serve food (20:30). We waited ages to even be looked at as they had a big order that had come in. Finally got served the fish batter wasn't the best and chips were ok. Sat on the bench opposite as they told us takeaway only, although there were people sat in eating. At least it wasn't raining.

We tend to call here for fish n chips when we have been to the pictures at Theatre Mwldan. Great fish n chips. Always piping hot. Café is basic by todays standards, but is always spotlessly clean. Run by an amazing family, with the most amazing work ethics.

My first, and last, visit. Left with food for the family but when we returned home mine and my son's scampi was so burnt it was black. I drove back to complain and to get fresh scampi and chips. The lady was very courteous and apologised and I pointed out that this shouldn't have happened in the first place as anyone can see the scampi was black. As I was leaving a man behind the counter said "attitude". What a terrible way to treat a customer complaint.
