Went into the toilets tonight 24/05/25 and someone had obvs been unwell in the toilet. I tried my best to clean it up but staff came in and accused me of said offence. In be known to them I have a colostomy bag and I’m unable to go myself. I was asked to leave. I was humiliated and felt disgusted. I will not be back. Food was nice though. Just not a place for people with a disability. I had to fling out all my clothes. Not happy 😡 I know this is not the staffs fault but to make judgements is their fault

Come on. It is a Premier Inn. Good for business travel. You know what you get.
Nice people here in East Kilbride.
Breakfast at Lee's Burn was very good.
Great to have a Pint in the evening.

We actually visited mcchristies restaurant at the Portland arms. 4 adults 2 children and food was amazing all for a great price. Will definitely be back
Food was unreal, absolutely couldn't fault it. The staff were so so lovely, a really cosy and friendly dining experience.
Probably the best Chinese food l've had in a long time ☺️
4 adults welcomed and treated well . The main menu is nice and plenty of choice. There is also a cheaper menu that is served till 6pm with cheaper but similar options. We were given extra cutlery and plates so we could share our starters and desserts.
Chicken tempura to start hot and fresh
The main courses were nicely presented the mashed potatoes delicious seasonal veg nicely cooked
2 braised ribeye 1 chicken pepper sauce without the haggis
1 chicken with cream cheese and in a cream and tomato sauce lovely
Nice choice of dessert
We had Chateaubriand and the meat was lovely, if a little on the small side. The service was very good, however, it was disappointing that given it’s the hotels signature restaurant there is no bread roll offered (though weirdly a side plate is provided), they also listed 2 x amuse-bouche on our bill (no charge) but we didn’t actually get any. In summary, lovely food but could do better with the little things (which make all the difference).
The 1906 restaurant is of course situated within the 5 star Turnberry Hotel, and these surroundings undoubtedly enhance the whole dining experience. The hotel itself luxurious and is situated in an outstanding elevated position with stunning views. On arrival you may choose to enjoy an aperitif in the comfortable bar area before heading into the restaurant. We were there on a Friday night and while enjoying a well presented and delicious gin and tonic in the bar, we were unexpectedly treated to an entertaining talk on the ‘haggis’, followed by a rendition of Burns’ ‘Address to the Haggis’, by an impressively dressed piper who also entertained us on the bagpipes. Guests were offered an ‘amuse bouche’ of haggis, neeps and tatties, presented in a small shot glass. Afterwards we entered 1906, the hotel’s formal dining room. This is a beautiful and spacious room with huge windows which frame the outstanding views. The tables were impeccably dressed, as one would expect. The staff were knowledgeable, thoroughly professional, and warm and friendly; without being inappropriate or intrusive. They have perfected just the right balance. My right arm was in plaster, after recently breaking my wrist in a fall. I was struggling to cut my perfectly delicious venison. Our waitress noticed this immediately and discreetly offered to assist me. My husband had noticed at the same time and took the task in hand, but I very much appreciated the waitress’ kindness and attentiveness. The food and wine were excellent and beautifully presented. Our whole experience at Turnberry compared well with the best of restaurants and hotels internationally, though of course it retains its distinctly Scottish ambiance. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would certainly recommend.
I have been a regular visitor to this wee bar for many years. I and many of the original locals now go elsewhere in Millport. Since the new owners took over the bar the atmosphere has deteriorated, the new owner (female) is abrupt, off hand and less than welcoming. I wish this wee bar was as good as it used to be when you were made genuinely welcome in a relaxed environment. I truly hope my comments are taken seriously and reflected upon.
