Wow …. let down by the restaurant today ! Had booked for a special lunch for a visiting family member for something nice! Service was poor at best and food …. Of our several choices nothing was left and this was before 4pm on a sunday…. After 15 mins (and a fairly empty restaurant) i had to ask someone to take our drinks ….. then after another 15mins had to ask someone to take our food order (of which several members of staff had walked past several times!) - in the end we left and went to a close pub - at least they were happy to serve and had options available …

The reviews rated this takeaway highly and it lived up to all the positive comments. We got an Indian meal takeaway but it does pizzas also. Portions are very generous - excellent value for money, really tasty, fresh and “clean”. Check out the lemon and cashew nut rice 😍. Delicious!!

I checked google, hidden Scotland and this site ALL said it was open on Tuesday. Drove past our usual coffee place to come here and found a sign on the door saying closed Tuesdays!

Booked a table for 1300. Arrived at 1250 and waited for table to be prepared. Food ordered and waited 70 minutes and still no food and no explanation as to the delay. Other tables experiencing same problem even though there weren't too many diners. Had to leave without food and, again, no reasons given as to why there was such a long delay.

Such a cute Micropub! Sam, the landlord, arranged a retirement ‘do’ for me in the upstairs function room, with drinks, a platter of pork pie/sausage rolls/chutney and a generous cheeseboard, which everyone enjoyed. The feedback from my guests was entirely positive!

Menu was very poor choice & nothing like on website. Ended up with a poor quality wine at £9.00 per glass & a chicken burger which I didn’t eat as boring (would have preferred a McDonald’s one which would have been a lot cheaper!) Husband had cheeseburger which was average, nothing special. Place is very dark & we needed our phones to read menu. Waitress wasn’t very good. Overall, underwhelming & disappointing!

The Cambus O May is a 150 year old Victorian building full of character, our spacious room had a roll top bath and a lovely view toward the old bridge over the river Dee. The hotel is deliberately set up to maintain its Victorian look and feel, if you want modern and glossy, look elsewhere! We had a lovely dinner in the evening, before sitting in front of the open fire in the cozy bar area for a few drinks. Breakfast was a good selection of cereals, pastries, juices, etc. Across the road is the 100 year old Cambus O May bridge, with excellent woodland walks, or take the trail to Ballater. We will stay again next time we are in the area.

Used to come here a lot but wont be returning after the service we received today. Down right rude, enough to make me lose my appetite, ordered a coffee and left. Seems you only get good service if you are elderly and/or posh

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.
