This is basically an ice cream and waffles shop with some seats which serves tea and coffee. The shop is clean and attractive with pleasant staff. There was a good range of ice cream and many different kinds of waffles available. Definitely worth popping in with the kids.

A friend and I found this spot on the way back to Alford from Glasgow. We stopped in expecting the normal cafe style food. Boy were we wrong! We both had the unpretentious sounding ham, egg and tatties. What we got was perfectly cooked pork belly. Crispy and creamy pomme anna, a stunning apple and radish roumalade and the most delicious hollandaise foam. It was amazing. Everything on the plate married beautifully together and left us replete with forest flavours chasing around our mouths. The staff are just lovely. Welcoming and warm. And the cafe itself is a great place to kick back and relax. We can’t recommend this enough. PS. I bought my husband here two days later and he was equally impressed.

19 The SquareGreat food, steak and fish cooked to perfection, served with really good chips. Went for deserts too, which we don’t normally go for, butter tablet ice cream hit the spot.
