Travelling back from Aberdeen we went in to Drifters for a takeaway. It was mobbed with families and small children. The noise was in bearable. And the staff very busy, but they served us straight away. Nothing was too much trouble and food was excellent. Can't praise them enough for the service, food and friendliness. Highly recommend.

We had a bracing walk along the beach with the greyhounds and built up an appetite for breakfast. Drifters had lovely bacon rolls and coffee but we had two big dogs. No problem. Dogs made welcome and got a sausage each that went down a treat.

Probably the first customer of the day just after opening. Ordered 2 egg & bacon rolls to takeaway. Not difficult? Well apparently so as when I arrived home discovered they were bacon and sausage 🤷♂️.

Recently visited Stonehaven and came across this little cafe whilst looking for breakfast. Would highly recommend. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Had cooked breakfasts and they were excellent . Food was nicely cooked and they catered to individual needs. So good we returned the next day where we were welcomed back. Thanks very much we will return.

Great food, steak and fish cooked to perfection, served with really good chips. Went for deserts too, which we don’t normally go for, butter tablet ice cream hit the spot.

Very disappointing and also lazy of the chef to have zero gluten free options on their entire menu. There is NO excuse these days to exclude such a large portion of the population. How hard is to have a loaf of frozen bread in the freezer?

I booked the Glenaden Hotel to provide a funeral tea for 30 people after a private internment in Ballater . Neil , the owner could not have been more helpful in organising this for a very reasonable price. We were delayed at the cemetery but a quick call alerted the staff who said no problem Once there we were given a private area for the family with its own bar and toilets . The food supplied was fresh and plentiful and there was unlimited tea and coffee . The staff were friendly and always available. We were told we could stay as long as we wished and that was great because everyone had come from far afield . It was a nice end to a sad day . We intend visiting again for food when next in the area .

Great place for a coffee and snack, plus they support local people in need.

Absolutely amazing visit here and can’t wait to go back. Firstly we loved the location and even on a driech day it was warm and inviting. All staff were genuinely polite, friendly and welcoming and delivered great service throughout. We were mostly served by Carol who could teach masterclass in true customer service to many other places we’ve visited. There were a few things we liked. Firstly it was bright, modern and super clean. Secondly we liked that it was lots of little areas which made our visit more cosy and quiet. Thirdly we loved that this is not a haunt for screaming kids and endless pushchairs. We had a lovely, quiet lunch with each food and drink item being absolutely perfect. We opted for a coffee and their soup and sandwich combo. Sandwiches arrived in the freshest bread and came with salad and crisps. I had the Cullen Skink and husband had the lentil soup. Both were piping hot and absolutely delicious. We couldn’t eat another thing by the end but did choose a couple of homemade tray bakes to take away. If you’re looking for somewhere for a lovely lunch out or just coffee and a cake I’d highly recommend here. Food, service and setting were all perfect and can’t wait to go back.
