A fantastic evening of delicious food in a welcoming environment. We were met by warm smiles from staff and locals. Locals up for a friendly chat, which we appreciated. Food was served hot, plentiful and YUM YUM YUM! We all had different dishes; garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, crab cakes (starters) double burger, crispy chicken and steak pie (mains). Best steak pie I’ve eaten anywhere (England or Scotland). Nobody was disappointed, in fact, we all were so full after our meals, not one of us could attempt a pudding which was a shame as I so wanted to try the sticky toffee pud! Bonus…the price…such value for money. We had travelled 6 hours to visit a friend who was passing through the area. If I had spare hours in my days, I’d happily drive the distance to enjoy an evening at the Crown Hotel. If you have the chance, you’ll be glad you did, enjoy 😊
Was passing and saw the sign at the side of the road so thought I’d give it a go,I was freezing after a long walk with the dogs, was pleasantly surprised, food was great, staff great, basically try it you’ll love it
The wild bean cafe I really only decided on a whim to go in one day while At services it has everything you need including the loo ! I wouldn’t bother going into the services ! The coffee is excellent and plenty of Choice it’s now a must for me when I’m on the road !
What a lovely hotel and the staff are amazingly helpful. The room is amazing clean and very spacious, I have stayed on the island many times over the years but this place is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stay here a million times better than the Sefton, it's a great location absolutely fantastic.
Essential village bakery supplies the real deal morning rolls not the supermarket imposters hot pies are wonderful we mourn the recent loss of our pie shop in lancaster please support this business friendly staff will be back!!
A chance find having driven through village after village with nothing in them.
We grabbed some sandwiches and cakes for take out. They were fresh and delicious, well filled with a small salad!

When you are on your way to Dumfries Ice Bowl and are fancying something light for your lunch then the place that I'm about to review is the place for you, and that place is The Breadbox located in Glasgow Street in Dumfries. I visited The Breadbox today on my way to Dumfries Ice Bowl to watch the Guid Nychburris Swimming gala and had a really delicious ham roll followed by their rather delicious chocolate crispies with marshmallows washed down with diet Irn Bru all of which was absolutely delicious, other reasons why I recommend The Breadbox are that the place is clean and you get service with a smile. I would recommend this place
Since the centre was refurbished we have gone to a concert and weekly Pilates class. The refurbishments are fantastic providing an excellent warm studio space for the Pilates class, I have noticed that the room is also used for dog training, so I’m really pleased that the studio is well cleaned before our class
Excellent meal and excellent value. Beautiful view from our table. Surrounded by books. Combine your visit with adjacent plant centre. Lunch and evening.
I couldn’t recommend Jamie and his team at Potting Shed Produce enough! Jamie and his mother are incredible chefs, the food is second to none. The most delicious hog roast, exciting salads and sensational summery deserts.
Jamie and his team are always welcoming and care for your needs. The entertainment and live music is very professional and enjoyable, they really want their audience to get involved.
If you haven’t been to an event here at PSP, you’re missing out!
Thank you again for such a wonderful day!
