The best restaurants in Monifieth and Sidlaw Angus Central Scotland

Fabulosa ubicación en la plaza de la ciudad. Gran restaurante espacioso, con un ambiente encantador. El personal es muy agradable y el servicio es siempre con una sonrisa y muy profesional. La comida es fantástica y menú de alta calidad. Genial para la cena también.

The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Although small, this restaurant is authentically decorated and has a very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Nos encontramos con Café Byzantium cuando nos alojamos en un be&be cercano el año pasado y terminamos volviendo por dos noches de tres, y luego hicimos lo mismo de nuevo este año - de hecho habríamos comido allí las tres noches, pero están cerrados un lunes! Simplemente nos encanta este lugar, el personal es muy amable y tuvimos una charla encantadora con la dueña y su hijo. ¡El pollo a la parrilla va a morir y sospecho que volveremos otra vez!

We had to wait 45 minutes for starter, but when we asked about it they were excellent and got it straight away and all gave us all a free drink, steak night excellent value and I like that you can mix n match menus

Food was lovely. No complaints at all. However, when it came to paying, (I always use Apple Pay) the machine wanted me to swipe my card. I never have my card with me because as already stated, I use Apple Pay. I informed the lady that I did not have my card. She said in a loud voice that she needed payment.and said that the machine did not belong to the establishment. I informed her that there must be a problem with the machine as exactly the same thing happened the last time I visited in January. At that time I thought it was a glitch and never thought for one minute that it would happen again. When I told her this she shrugged her shoulders and said “that’s technology “. She then admitted that it had happened a “few times” I found the whole situation extremely embarrassing as the restaurant was full and there were other customers waiting to pay. She then said I could pay over the phone with my card the following day so “I wouldn’t have to come back in to pay!!!” I told her I wouldn’t be coming all the way back from Arbroath and I duly gave her my phone number so she will phone me tomorrow and I will pay by card. However, I think the restaurant need to take responsibility for this, and investigate why this is happening. This is the only place that I have had problems using Apple Pay. The whole point of it is that you don’t need to carry your card. Quite frankly I felt humiliated and felt as if I I just didn’t want to pay for my meal. I think this is poor service and very poor attitude from staff. I certainly wouldn’t want anyone else feel the way I was made to feel. I certainly won’t be going back.

Had dinner for 2 booked last night and couldn't fault the place in the slightest. The service was excellent and the lady serving was happy to answer any questions we had about the food. The food itself was delicious, I had Stir fried chilli basil with chicken as I'd never tried it before and will definitely have it again. Flavourful and spicy 👍 Pricewise it was pretty much average but the food quality and service surpassed what we paid so couldn't be happier!

So sorry to see this place close down it was so nice with friendly cost atmosphere and great food perhaps our last lockdown was final straw just like to say thanks for all the yummy treats.

Worst Indian I have ever tasted , the curry must be a powder mixed with water as you can taste the powder , the meat was not tasty, the rice was bland ,, I will never use this place again

We've just had a lovely couple of days at the Stargazer Lodge, enjoying the cosy atmosphere and the fab hot tub! The double shepherd hut was so well fitted - gorgeous wee kitchen, belting shower, huge bath, and beautiful oak features. It was really special. If I had to offer constructive criticism, I'd say that the addition of a chest of drawers in the bedroom would be a great feature, and a wee shaving mirror in the bathroom (my other half's suggestion). All in all, a fab break, and we'll definitely come back.

Fabulous meal, lovely efficient and polite staff. Good value for money. A must visit.

The place was busy and the member of staff round is a table. We ordered pot of tea and a tray bake. We received our pot of tea, no tray bake. Then another member of staff asked or we were okay? However nothing appeared. We were nearly finished all the tea so we just paid and left. They did apologise, we won’t be in a hurry to go back.

Great place original 😁 so no electric key a plus for me. Vending machine for snacks should you need them. Tea coffee in room warm and clean WiFi brilliant no issues. Brewers fayre with kids play. Food in restaurant is good value fish was great signature burger dynamite. Service both hotel and restaurant pleasant and helpful always. On site Costa McDonald's Dobbies David Lloyd and innoflatable for kids. 10 mins drive Aldi Sainsbury's and a co op. A little further on you have the beach at Monifeith famous carnoustie golf course a country park. A little further Arbroath amusement shops cafes historical buildings golf holiday park's etc If you have got that far a little further is the village of St Cyrus beach is beautiful nature reserve here also. Plenty to do for all ages.

Let me tell you this place is good price and tastes yummy

Not good and won’t be back. Placed my order and waited, and waited 30 minutes. Others who Came in after me and ordered were getting theirs and I was still waiting. Eventually asked when the order would be ready. The cashier then went back shop and produced it within seconds. I said, “assume it’s cold then”. Replied “no”. The carryout was cold as it had been sitting for some time and the food content wasnt good either. Been an occasional customer fmor 15 years but won’t be back
