Went for a funeral tea. Landlady let us in although we were half an hour early due to inclement weather. Nice buffet. Good service. Lovely staff

We had 2 starters and 2 main meals and 3 out of 4 were excellent.

Well run bar and restaurant with good selection of well cooked food at reasonable prices served by helpful happy staff.

I only stopped for food which was excellent, standard pub menu with fresh specials. I had the steak pie which I often have and it was yummy

Ash and staff were 5 star. Great pub and restaurant. Sunday lunch superb. We were treated like family. So relaxing. It was our 1st visit on our tour of Scotland. We were on our honeymoon 29 years ago so we were on a tour to places we didn't visit last time. So glad we found this gem this visit. Give the staff a pay rise , they deserve it. We stopped for the Sunday roast which was fantastic. I got the Milford Mega roast with a little bit of everything which is my favorite way of doing it. I thought that the best was the chicken on haggis, then the pork, then roast beef, and finally ham. The potatoes were perfect! The peas are super fresh and still crisp and full of life. There were also various, but they aren't my thing.

Had lovely meals here both at lunchtime and in the evening. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Carpark accommodates

Had a lovely family meal. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and they even made a special dessert for my granddaughter.

A lovely old mill building. Comfortable and quiet bar and dining room. First class table service and food. Specials and regulars are all very appealing and the cooking and presentation first class. Super drinks menu too. Always a warm welcome as you arrive, expect to settle in and relax for a few hours.

Have just moved to the area. It os such a friendly place and our food was delicious. Best steak I've had for a long time x

Poor service the dining room was cold and dark unfortunately was was okay but a bit pricey for what you get

It's always a pleasure to eat at the Milton. We travel from Aberdeen to meet family here a few times per year.

Booked in for Sunday lunch we both had the beef dinner 10 out of 10 for both service and quality of food. Staff friendly and helpful food cooked to perfection thanks will make time for another visit while still in the area.

Had family meal, 10 of us, staff were very attentive and friendly, good variety of dishes and specials. Prices are reasonable and always a warm welcome and good visit.

One of my favourite, friendly restaurants. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced, staff are amazingly attentive and friendly and they have 2-3 cask ales on at any one time. Totally recommended 👍

The service was brilliant, staff were really welcoming, helpful and attentive. The food was so fresh and well put together. I had lentil and bacon soup which was delicious and the special was a pork steak and I didn't want it to end. Well recommended.

Saw the reviews and went for a roast, I had the chicken and my partner had the beef. £15 per dish and it was very poor. Chicken, potatoes, peas and carrots was the entirety. Food was bland also. Looked like something you'd get from meals on wheels. Overpriced and extremely disappointing. Would not reccomend at all.

Visited for a family meal. Food was delicious and staff all friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend as somewhere nice for a relaxed meal.

Great food and amazing service! Staff are always so friendly, welcoming, accommodating and efficient. Love going to the Milton for food. Great choice on menu, nice and varied and a fantastic specials board as well. Food is fresh and plenty of it. Drinks menu is extensive with lots of lovely wines, gins and vodkas as well as brandies and Liqueurs.

We had a beautiful meal here today. The service was so good. Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. The menu is excellent and offers a great choice. The food was delicious. But I really want to stress how lovely the service was. It makes such a difference to the whole experience. Hats off to the staff at the Milton for being so lovely. Thank you.

Was asked to leave after being seated and order in because I didn't have a exemption card with me for not wearing mask . Wasted everyone else wore one so we had Togo.

This was an average experience. We started with the soup which was tasty and the hummus. The hummus was a pretty meagre portion and came with half a slice of Pitta bread! The service was unexceptional, it was difficult to attract the attention of anyone. The restaurant had 4 waiters on and wasn't jam packed. There was no sense of urgency with anything. We mentioned the half slice of Pitta was a bit meagre and the waitress seemed taken aback but would mention this to the kitchen. We ordered the Sunday roast of beef and 1 of pork, a fish n chips and roast cod. My roast beef was really well cooked, a very slight blush but the whole plate seemed like it had sat out for at least 5 or 10mins. The Yorkshire had gone soggy, the food was warm, barely. It was well cooked but lacked any real flavours but I did enjoy the crushed carrots, they were tasty. The pork was the same, well cooked but lacked flavour. The roast cod was slightly overcooked, the fish n chips were fine. Nothing exceptional as you can see from pictures. Nobody came to see if the mains were fine. It's not gourmet pub food but some dishes are priced over £15 which is a bit steep. There are some dishes which are very reasonably priced though. I felt the service was lacking, the food was fine but fell short of the pricing.

Had an excellent Sunday dinner here. Staff where so warm and friendly and interested in your day. Meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. If I stayed closer I would become a regular customer

Staff were really lovely and genuine, couldn't do enough for us throughout our visit. The place was clean and systems are well thought out and we felt safe during covid19. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, chef really impressed us. From the moment we started eating we began to plan a return visit. An evening at the Milton Inn was the best way to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks so much to all of the staff.

Haven't been through the doors there since my wedding reception in 1987 .It was a very pleasant surprise to find that it still had the same mix of old world charm, great service and comfort on offer . Well worth the visit and really enjoyed the meal . Won't leave it so long next time !!!

Went for post lockdown Sunday lunch. Clean, efficient and fast. Food was great. Server was lovely. It was a weird lunch because it was so quick- only due to the lack of alcohol so once we ate, there was no reason to hang about. Sunday roast (beef and chicken) and kids meals were great. Thank you!

Service and attention was very good well spaced out ,and the food was hot .

Great set of walks up the dichty burn and around the seven arches viaduct. Check out the old Panmurefield bleach works and some great forest paths on this local route. Suitable for all ages, bikes, some wheelchair friendly paths, some a bit muddy at the moment.

Had a good treck to find The Milton which wasnt helped by my Google maps going haywire. From the outside the pub looked a bit rustic so i wasnt too sure about what to expect (Possibly along the lines of the scene when they enter the Slaughtered Lamb in American Wearwolf in London). I needent have worried though as the pub was heaving and very cosmopolitan. Immediately on entering i was subject to the Landlords 1st class hospitality, bonhomie and gravitas. It was just like meeting the Scottish Publican equivalent of Soccer Saturdays Jeff Stelling. The food proved to be every bit as good as the hospitality and great value for money too. Spiced Lentil Soup for Starters was followed by Chicken Tiokka Bhuna and both were served up in considerable portions with the freshest and tastiest ingredients. To finish with I went with the Rum scented dark chocolate Marquise mousse wich despite sounding like a Doncaster Rovers player was rich and tasty. As expected for a pub listed in the Real Ale guide; the beers were top draw and the landlord was very knowledgable about them and their provenance. The pub has a really great, relaxed old coach house feel with the mock stone walls and traditional timber floors/ wall panneling, it reminded me a bit of the pub in Harry Potter with Ian Brown and others drinking there. A proper pub with loads of character, awesome food and smashing landlord.

Made very welcome, good pub food. Great service. Busy so please book if possible. Worth visit, covid organised. But car park gets busy with cheeky people picking up children from school. Beware!

Great place for a meal or just a couple of drinks

Had a lovely lunch a couple of days ago. The Milton never disappoints....felt very safe even though all the tables were in use, our waitress was lovely and took very good care of us. Food superb as always.

Warm, friendly atmosphere, helpful and pleasant staff, but best of all, really delicious food. Something for everyone on the menu, plus specials, plus the kids menu is proper food for under a fiver. Highly recommend. Wish something could be done with the outdoor space.

Mi esposa y yo nos aventuramos a almorzar ayer (12 de agosto) en un restaurante por primera vez desde febrero, y realmente no podemos recomendar el Milton Inn lo suficiente.Las precauciones relacionadas con el covid fueron claras y nos hicieron sentir seguros, lo cual fue muy importante para nosotros. La comida era muy buena y el servicio amable y eficiente.Espero que muchas más personas apoyen este negocio local; realmente se lo merecen.

First family meal out of lockdown. As ever, excellent food, along side fantastic service. Various options on the specials board, well presented and priced accordingly. We (the family) really enjoy the place, the food and the service.
