Although we did not have a booking, the owners managed to accommodate us even though it was busy. People providing negative comments about this restaurant must be on a different planet! The food and service were faultless. The portions were generous and freshly prepared and cooked. The pesto pasta with pine nuts and garlic was fantastic, as was the Napoli. The homemade desserts were amazing - we had the tiramisu and the lemon tart. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in Moffat. Probably best to book!
I used to come here years ago when I lived in Edinburgh, and am delighted that the quality hasn't declined at all. The food is a bit pricey but worth it for the quality of ingredients and cooking. The restaurant is a beautiful place to be, and the service was attentive. One of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.
Fui aquí para celebrar que un amigo del trabajo tuviera un bebé. La comida era muy sabrosa y el ambiente era amable y el personal era informativo, amable y servicial. La comida era excelente y los cócteles eran buenos también. Sin duda recomendaría
We ate here on Friday 28 March . We ordered chicken and vegetable pakora which promptly arrived in a nice dish with 3 individual spaces for sauces. The sauces themselves seemed to imitate the flag of India, red white and green. The pakora was ok, not the best I’ve eaten but the sauces were a bit of a letdown, each being a little milder than the one before. I think they were mint, raita and unknown, probably a chillie concoction but as I say very mild.
When I go to an Indian restaurant I expect a bit of bite to the meals, so far none.
To compensate I ordered the spicy tikka masala instead of just tikka masala for my main course. I would have ordered the Madras but previous experiences have made me wary of having too much of a good thing.
Anyway, the food arrived including my wife’s chicken Bhuna.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was well prepared and tasted delicious but once again I was underwhelmed with the amount of spicing. My first thought was that this was prepared for European palates.
In my time I’ve eaten some Indian food that almost made you recoil from the heat but were addictive in that you had to go back for more. No such issues here. Mind you I’ve eaten Indian food in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and America since the 1970s and the best I’ve ever had was surprisingly in Majorca.
Who’d have guessed?
7 out of 10.
Fish shop that provides lovely fish and chips the curry sauce was tasty, I made the mistake of asking for a fish lot which went like tumbleweed but the food and service excellent
First time visiting Incontri , and I must admit this place was buzzing, that’s when you know good food is served here, The waiter was so helpful and polite , food we ordered was on the table in no time at all , 10/10 for all the dishes served, The meal was amazing cooked to perfection, I have to say staff and management take great pride in this establishment , will definitely recommend to family and friends ❤️
I had lovely delicious meals on Saturday and Sunday staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend eating here. I will be back next time I come down from Wick. Iam glad I discovered this little gem.
This is a great place to eat. The staff were very attentive from the moment we arrived. Our waitress Georgia made it a great experience for us. The food was delicious and very well presented. My steak was cooked to perfection. I can’t recommend The Duke’s Umbrella highly enough. Will definitely be back.
Great dog friendly pub! The chef goes above and beyond for you! Makes amazing Currys and even spiced up my chilli! The Guinness is pretty good too. Well worth a visit.
