I was on a Nature Trek holiday in Dumfries and the tour guide had booked us in for lunch. The vegan menu had a few options but unfortuntately they were all main dishes. The non vegan/veg options included main meals, soup, toasted sandwiches, etc. I only wanted a light lunch so this was a bit disappointing. The staff were very accomodating though and made me a vegan sausage sandwich. It was fantastic and really hit the spot.If I lived near this place, I'd be a regular. I highly recommend a visit.

Booked Christmas dinner at this lovely wee cafe. Had the option of two or three courses followed by tea/coffee and mince pie. We chose 2 courses, the main and pudding. We were not disappointed. Yes you can get cheaper deals elsewhere in Stranraer but the quality of products used by the chef and the care taken in the cooking made thIs meal worth booking and paying for. Lovely location. Very clean and spacious. Well laid out. Upstairs, outside seating available but we sat inside. Four of us had a roll each with various fillings which were nice but we had to ask for butter as we all like our rolls buttered and they came dry. Had to wait a good while before a menu was brought to us even though the café was not busy at that particular time. When we first went in one of the waitresses walked right through the four of us without an 'excuse me' or a smile or anything. Very rude! However I would go back as the café itself is lovely.

Good tip from TripAdvisor as it looks just like a basic cafe but the food is honestly outstanding for the price. Locally sourced smoked haddock, poached egg on tattie scone was incredible. We visited Driftwood for a family lunch on 3rd April 2018. We had reserved a table which was at the door and was a bit drafty. As all other tables were taken (although not all reserved prior to being taken) there was no option to move. The reason we picked this restaurant was their new veggie/vegan menue which we saw on trip advisor. Unfortunately the menu has been removed (which has not been updated on their facebook page) and there was only one vegan option. My daughter had the vegan Puy Lentil and Bean ChillI which as good as was the other meals. Would go again but disappointed about their change in menue.

A few friends and I visited Driftwood for a causal lunch and I couldn't be more impressed! I have never encountered more welcoming staff, they created a great atmosphere. We had the same waitress for the duration of our stay who, when questioned, informed us she had worked at the restaurant since the time of opening, (name tags would be a bonus, some staff deserve the recognition they deserve) she was more than happy to answer any questions we had about the food and was very generous when pouring a large glass of chilled rosè. The menu is weird, wonderful and very well priced, . I ordered a Cajun chicken breast burger which was cooked to perfection. Having a licensed premises is just the cherry on the cake! I noticed an extra table was brought in from outside to accommodate more customers, which was extremely generous as a lot of places would have rejected them. Driftwood is also a lovely spot on a rare sunny day, the upstairs small but is a great addition. I have no complaints whatsoever about this restaurant about from the lack of toilet signs. A member of staff did point them out to us but would be more convenient for both customers and passers by if they were signposted in and around the building.

As we have been enjoying proper summer weather recently, we have been frequenting this coffee shop quite a lot as it is lovely to sit on the balcony overlooking Agnew Park, people watching whilst enjoying their fab double-shot lattes. Most of the other cafes locally with outside eating areas are right on roadside, complete with dust from traffic which is not nearly as appealing. If we are at Driftwood at lunchtime we enjoy freshly baked warm roll with bowl of home-made soup, particularly if it one of the more interesting soup varieties. The best one to date was cheese and onion, which is not exactly the run of the mill lentil or leek and potato available everywhere. Well worth a visit, particularly if the weather stays nice.

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?
