The best restaurants in Glebe Magherafelt North Eastern NI

Due to covid-19 restrictions we met in Mauds Parlour for coffee and something sweet.... lovely way to wile away an afternoon with friends... coffee excellent and great choice of very tasty traybakes... lovely friendly staff... a hidden gem...!

Great cafe in the heart of magherafelt food is lovely place is nice and clean and the staff are friendly, They have a good menu I tried the Christmas Dinner it was very good and very reasonably priced at £6.50. It won't be long until I'm back for some more yummy food.

Quality of food is good. But quantity is poor, I ordered breast of duck and received 2 small slices of a duck breast. No Merlot or Malbec wine and a burger was ordered to be told there was no burgers left. Service is poor as I was told they were understaffed but staff had time to stand and talk to each other at the end of the bar. I was looking a 2nd glass of wine during our meal but no-one came near us while we were eating. At the end of our meal no-one came to offer desserts, tea or coffee. We paid the bill and pointed out these short comings.

I've ordered a few times from here, I really enjoyed their food in the beginning, an you got a lot of it for the money, lately though I don't know what happened The chips are not as good quality anymore, I'd describe it as older chips reheated, when I order cheesy chips, they put the box on its side so all the cheese falls to one side, it melts, so basically a chip with a melted lump of cheese, or they put stuff on top of it, so all the cheese is stuck to the roof of the box, a burger I ordered was really greasy, that's all you could taste was grease, kebabs I've ordered, they send it just as meat in a naan an nothing else, sometimes you get salad, sometimes you don't, I know you can just ask, which I made sure to do after learning my lesson, but I never had to before, other times they forget to send things, which is an extra hassle As I said I enjoyed their food at first, an so it became a regular place for me, if I like a places food, I can forgive a bad delivery or meal, no one's perfect all of the time, but when it becomes a pattern, it becomes a problem

It's got expensive keep putting price up and as for the food was bad and very little in the flatbread I got.

Had a nice lunch here of a chicken wrap and ham and cheese toastie with coffee. The decor is very rustic with unusual corrugated iron fittings. Service was a bit slow and we had finished our coffees before our sandwiches came. There was also a workman next door drilling which was very annoying. Surely he could have waited until lunchtime was over.? There were so many other cafes and restaurants in Magherafelt that we will try on our next visit
