Brysons in Magherafelt

Overcooked/overheated resulting in lasagne hard. Fish was of poor quality and black inside. Dessert was very stodgy and custard lumpy. Very disappointed

I booked out the red room for a private party, halfway through the night my music was turned off and refused to put back on. The employee was rude to members of my party and followed us on several occasions into the open smoke room and even the bathroom, telling us to leave if we weren’t using it. We were only chatting. I had it booked until 1, she asked us to leave at half 11. I walked out in tears. I did not get a partial refund or even an apology.

Pop into Bryson’s today for lunch and wasn’t disappointed two corses had the Buffalo wings followed by the steak wrap both was lovely and very good value for money. Would highly recommend this restaurant and I definitely be back at some point.

Called in for Sunday lunch - 2 course meal £10 each + was tempted by the dessert for only another £3.95, brilliant value and meal was excellent, the roast beef just melted in your mouth and the desserts all home made!! Service was second to none, friendly yet professional staff - definitely will be back to try the A la carte menu next time

Called into Brysons as a mid week treat. Ok neither of us would cook dinner. However on these occasion we can certainly recommend Brysons. Hospitable friendly service and good food at reasonable prices. Thankyou.

Who knew food could be so good? Myself and my family are regulars here at Brysons Magherafelt and are here every Saturday without fail! The food is beyond delicious and always catered to suit the needs of our fussy children. Not only is the quality of the food outstanding but the customer service provided is phenomenal. Everyday we walk in we are greated with a smile and a warm welcome. Emma is always so attentive of our needs and never fails to exceed our expectations! Her bubbly personality and enthusiasm is nothing short of awe-inspiring and we always look forward to seeing her! If you're ever in Magherafelt, whether you're looking for somewhere nice and cosy for a few drinks or beautiful homecooked meal, Brysons is the place to go!

We had a fantastic night and couldn't have been treated better. Wonderful food my wife and I left Happy and content. Beautiful soup glfor starter and a fantastic burger for main. The entire menu was appealing but went for the burger. Cooked to perfection. It was extremely good value for money too! My wife had the goujons and she loved them too. Special mention to Emma for making our visit so warm and welcoming and couldn't have been more attentive a real credit to the establishment. We shall be back for sure. Me and my Hubby been coming here since we got married 7 years ago and it’s always been our home from home. Fantastic friendly service, great food and amazing value. We have always especially loved the festive atmosphere here over Christmas. We live closer to Cookstown than Magherafelt but choose Brysons over and over again because of its star quality. Looking forward to many more happy years of relaxation and enjoyment with our two stars Emma and Patricia ❤️

I don’t like leaving bad reviews and we try to support family business but brysons deserve this review we are from Fermanagh and always eat here while in magherfelt we normally enjoy it and usually have the lasgena......but on this occasion we arrived in and stood at the bar for at least 10 mins no one came to bar so we took two menus and went to sit down the first seat we found was covered in broken glass so we found another .....we looked at the menu my husband went to the bar stood again for awhile before shouting hello only for a grumpy dark haired woman to look out of a door not even speak to him and shout Emma service .....Emma arrived and was less than pleasant took our order we where the only table in the whole place Thursday lunch time this should of been an indication to us ........I had the lasagna my husband had the burger .....my lasagna ok nothing special very hot chips nice coleslaw lovely garlic bread non existent.......my husbands burger was a disgrace as tough as rubber definitely reheated dripping with grease he had to wash his hands before we left and he stank of grease ......it was awful a chippy would of served us much better ......Emma was unfriendly and abrupt no salt and pepper had to ask for vinegar drinks very roughly slammed down in front of us ......sorry brysons we won’t be back

I booked a table for a party of 13 for lunch, I enquired at the time would it be okay to leave balloons in for decoration. On the phone they said it was no problem all details were confirmed. I left two separate balloon decorations in an hour before our table was booked, one for either end of the table, there appeared too be no issue with the booking. On arriving at exactly our booked time we were told we had to be moved as a larger party had arrived and wanted our table! We were moved to a corner were we all had to sit at different tables. When I enquired why our balloons were not out (it was a surprise party) we were told it will be sorted? We were all seated before they brought out the decorations which the staff had tangled together so couldn’t be used! Very disappointing service, surely if someone comes in who hasn’t booked they should have been seated somewhere else? The lights were also broken where we were seated so no one could even see the food they were eating and not so much as an apology for destroying two balloon stands. Chaotic service, food was mediocre, our dessert order was completely wrong. Do not use here for a special occasion.

Please don’t waste your time!!We has a table booked for 2pm finally got seated at 2.40pm even though different parties who were booked after us got seated before us!! Starter arrived .....(3 mushrooms) eventually when our main courses came they had ran out of vegetables! I decided not to eat my excuse for a dinner & my partner was offered another side to make up for the no veg.....we waited that long on that arriving his dinner was stone cold!! So after 2 hours we both left starving & extremely disappointed!Awful experience would never dream of eating here again!!

Fantastic food yet again from Brysons. Highly recommended. Staff fantastic and friendly, if food not on menu ask and they will help nothing to much trouble

Had my granddaughters christening here to day an everything went really well food was lovely service was good an Patrica is just lovely thank u for decorating the room also this is a great place to go to in magherafelt

Myself and my wife and twins (aged 18 months) called for lunch Saturday about 4.30. The twins usually make strange with strangers but not in this case. Ordered 2 lunches and a baby lunch for the twins to share.Waiter couldn't do enough providing high chairs and ensuring kids were properly strapped in. Baby lunch was served first which gave us peace to feed twins thus giving us time to enjoy our meal. Choose chicken and stuffing and honestly it was cooked and presented beautifully , didn't get dessert as we were stuffed. Kids had left a bit of a mess but nothing was a problem for the staff. There was light music playing which twins really enjoyed as they were up grooving at one point. When bill arrived we were informed that kids eat free from kiddies menu at the weekend which was a nice surprise. Smiling Staff waved us off (glad to see the back of us Mabey) and to be honest I can't wait to return, top class 🙂

Myself and friends booked in for a meal this evening. As we entered we felt a warm, friendly ambiance straight away and received a gentle welcome from the staff. We were very pleasantly escorted to our table by a polite young lady and this straight away gave me a good feeling about how the night was going to go as she seemed very well trained. The restaurant was extremely busy but our food came out promptly, When the starters arrived they were magnificent, the vegetable soup was delicious and the garlic bread was very tasty. Had a very good meal which again despite the place being busy was served in a very reasonable time . We did not go for teas and coffees as we were stuffed! If you leave hungry it’s your own fault.

Of all the restaurants in Magherafelt I have to say Bryson’s ticks all the boxes !

Husband decided to treat us to dinner giving me a rare night off from cooking. From the moment we walked into Bryson’s nothing was a problem, the member of staff, even sat us at a table so my daughter could charge her iPad from socket next to table. Which saved a lot of tears. Once seated we where given menus and a drinks order taken. Drinks where sat down and we where given a few minutes to decide on our courses. We odered 3 adult meals & 2 kids meals. When ordering the member of staff asked if we wanted the kids meals out before the adults meals which we agreed. Food itself was beautiful, well presented and value for food. The restaurant itself is well keep and clean. I esp loved the feeling of not being rushed we could sit and enjoy our meal. I’d highly recommend Bryson’s for a evening meal or family dinner. Keep up the good work staff & management

We decided late afternoon that we should celebrate our daughters 18th with a meal out with her a a couple of her friends Brysons took our table booking at short notice. On arrival we were shown to our table where they had put up a few wee decorations as agreed earlier We had the pleasure of a young gent called Gabriel as our waiter He made us feel most welcome and made sure we were happy with our table and comfortable before bringing our drinks and men yes promptly He was so helpful and answered any questions about the food that the teenagers asked The food itself was brilliant and service between courses perfect not too quick to feel rushed but not too slow that you'd get bored waiting The venue was lovely clean and comfortable with a real warm and friendly atmosphere and the pricing very good I cannot thank the staff especially our waiter for a most enjoyable meal It made my daughters birthday just perfect. We all felt like we were being treated like VIPs. I will most definetly be back here as often as I can. As a customer I would highly recommend Brysons for a visit

Myself and my friend and our 4 children visited here on the 17th of July for lunch. I ordered the cottage pie and chips, 2 kids meals and a sandwich

Went to brysons last night for a meal with a few friends, hadn't booked before had as I know it usually isn't too busy. Walked in at 6pm and there was no customers at all and no staff. we stood for another 15 minutes, still no staff turned up even though we were all talking and standing at the bar so someone is bound to have heard us. Left after a 20 minutes.

What a wonderful little Irish pub. Charming Barman, cold beers, a fire blazing and delicious food. Loved our evening chatting to the locals.

Brysons is in Magherafelt it is a beautiful bar and restaurant, a family business and very well located, not much parking around . The staff are so helpful and child friendly at weekends it can have a variety of entertainment disco or bands .

Great bar... great night apart from a ingorant member of staff who is very ignorant towards his customers and staff ...they are the people who keep brysons in buisness....without the rest of ther staff they would have nothing....they put in so much effort an get no thanks for any of it....never met someone more disrespectful in my life...only me and my friends where meeting other friends inside we would have went somewer else. I will not be rushing back to brysons or recomending it to anyone else

Last minute decision to get here. Not bad considering it was another xmas party night. We had a table adjacent to the bar(very handy).The service and food was better than i was expecting , considering the evening. All good , noooo complaints. Went home a happy chappy . Successful night. Will i be back again . Yes , i will and hopefully bring more friends to enjoy they experience and i must say the staff are very with it.

I have just had one of the best eating experiences in a long time visited this bar/restaurant, had a beer served with a smile and a warm welcome decided to have to house beef Burger OMG the best I have ever had,succelent,incredible taste so good I did not want it to end congrats to chef Ann Marie definitely one to visit.

called in at 12:30, 30 minutes after opening, was seated and we ordered coffee, we sat for twenty minutes waiting on coffee, this place was not that busy, we waited over an hour for our main course. there was a couple in before us who had a similar long wait for food. when we eventually got our food it was nothing special, side orders of chips did not come with the food and had half of the meal ate before they arrived, asked for refill of coffee and cups was taken away and new cups brought, i suspected that we would be charged for another 2 cups even though it states on menu free refills. Staff / management should be better versed in the menu. The other couple before us i noticed also had a query with their bill. And yes our bill was wrong, we were charged for the refills even though we asked for refills. Also on the menu tea and coffee was supposed to be complimentary with mine but was on the bill. An explanation / apology came at the end that there was a party of 13 in and this caused the delay. Then the management should learn that when part of the team is under pressure to help or delegate. Overall dissatisfied hence the review, certainly will not be returning to this establishment, spent 2 hours in the place.

Yo y cinco de mis colegas fuimos a brysons anoche, fue mi primera vez, al entrar en el recinto nos recibió muy agradable y cortés portero. Nos dieron muy deliciosos que eran cócteles sólo 3 libras! El personal del bar era muy bueno y bien preparado en su trabajo. El bar tenía un ambiente muy relajado y la música tenía una amplia variedad para satisfacer a todos los grupos de edad. Coger mi ojo en el bar era un afiche diciendo que los niños comen gratis en los fines de semana, tengo ganas de probar la comida! Cuando nos íbamos, nos hubiera gustado una puja y conciliador seguro viaje por un portero. Sin duda recomendaría brysons a cualquiera de mis amigos y familia, toda una experiencia positiva.

Brysons probablemente dar un 3 / 4 estrella como he tenido muchas buenas noches aquí y también con buena comida y el personal del bar es fabuloso!

He pasado por, o a través, Magherafelt pero nunca me he parado. Me paré el sábado 15 de junio y mi atención se señaló a unai. El exterior de los locales parecía atractiva y estaba claro que se combina con un bar y un restaurante. Entré en el bar y el ambiente era eléctrico como un partido vigilados en televisión por todos en el bar y los irlandeses saben hablar, y divertido, era bastante evidente. Entonces entró en el restaurante y fue inmediatamente impresionado por el ambiente atractivo por obvio. La decoración del restaurante. Era preciosa y todo estaba impecablemente limpio. Yo sólo quería café y ser un entrenado barista me encantó descubrir que la mezcla de café y el precio que cobran por él - café excelente, bastante caro y preparado por Holly - una encantadora wee adalid que obviamente estaba bien entrenado en la preparación y presentación de café. Vi comida se servía y parecía y olía delicioso. Ojalá me hubiera tiempo para parar y mi té en el restaurante, pero un compromiso antes significaba que tenía que salir. No hablar con el propietario/gerente y creo que su nombre es Patricia (no estoy seguro) Ella era agradable y yo rápidamente la conclusión de que sin duda sabían cómo administrar un negocio exitoso. Desde mi experiencia de Bryson (limitada experiencia) no dudaría en recomendar el establecimiento. .

Called into Bryson's Magherafelt to watch the Ireland vs Italy 6 nations game - Cracking atmosphere even before the game started - Myself & the wife got seated beside the open fire (Delightful) - We were amazed to see great drinks offers on during the game, Heineken pints only £3 - We decided to grab the 6 nations offer burger + pint for £6 (This was YUMMY & certainly hit the spot).

Went for a colleagues leaving do, after the night had ended an elderly man who had been drinking in the bar fell and badly split his head right outside the doors, when we asked the bouncer with the bald head and long beard if the man could sit inside and wait for an ambulance he laughed and locked the door, tells you all you need to know

Awful food, awful service, awful atmosphere...zero stars would be appropriate if that option could be given

We went for a meal to Bryson's tonight. The food was faultless and the waitress was very attentive. We will definitely be back...food was at a very reasonable price and was to a very high standard! Would recommend it to any of our friends

Brysons is highly recommended. The atmosphere is welcoming. Food is very good, and the service is excellent with friendly staff. Don't miss a pint at the authentic "front bar", and take time to enjoy the interesting photos and articles on the wall which really gives an good impression of the bars history and importance to the local community. If you're in town when the pub has one of its live music sessions, do yourself a favour of taking the time to go and listen - you'd most likely be in for a pleasant experience that would make you want to come back. I'm happy to give Brysons my best recommendations.

To say that I have never been as shocked and appalled by "customer service" is an absolute understatement. Went to Brysons with my sister, mum and my auntie. We waited the most of an hour for our food to arrive, when my sister and I went to pay for the meal my sister asked who was the manager of the establishment. She was then asked did she want to speak to management and she agreed that she did as it was completely unsatisfactory how long we had to wait. To our absolute amazement the "chef" (who we have since discovered is in management/owner) came out and began to scream and shout at my sister, threatening to phone the police as money was basically demanded, to which my sister very reasonably responded that she wouldn't be handing money over whilst she was being shouted at. For any person to find it acceptable to number one scream at a customer who has a genuine complaint, or number two scream within ear shot of a one year old child is just absolutely disgusting. NEVER EVER will I step foot in there again, and I would strongly advise others to do the same. Also, my sisters frank and honest review on their Facebook page has been removed by them, if that doesnt scream shame and guilt then I dont know what does. We did not complain about the food HOWEVER, after waiting over 45 minutes my mum and sisters food arrived first, then my aunt and I got ours. The food although it wasn't bad, I certainly would expect better when paying to eat out. It was fine at best. My aunt requested a side salad with her meal and was presented with what could only be described as a bowl of leaves with dressing poured over it. The portion size was also a lot smaller than my last visit. I have never posted a bad review in my life however in this case it is completely warranted. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO BE SHOUTED AT IN THIS PLACE!

Best burger I had in a long time, good pint, well run pub. Good for watching a match or for a quiet drink.

Menu to suit everyone at a great price with fantastic offers. Decor is moderin and comfortable Brysons is a place to meet with friends and family any night of the week. The front bar is old world and is a small quaint place with regular traditional Irish live music topped of with a peat burner for that irish smell and homely atomspher on a cold evening.

Food is very nice. Staff are friendly too. Nightlife on a Saturday night is first class. Have been out a few nights in it and have not had a bad night yet. Highly recommended for meal, and especially for a night out

Excellent service, great value, presentation excellent. My husband really enjoyed the hot custard and jam sponge while the boys loved the choc pudding. Should mention that there was a two course meal deal for Sunday lunch that offered excellent value. Definitely returning.

We visited Brysons for lunch today and I just want to express how terrible it was. We arrived early ie before 12.30pm and waited about 40 minutes plus for our lunch. It was very quiet and people who arrived much later than us ie 1pm or after got there meals about five minutes after us. Our son's burger the grease on the bap was unbelievable, the chips were burnt - just like when your chip pan at home needs the oil changed and meals all brought out at different times. My son and I got a roast dinner so why did we have to wait so long for our meals when they insisted on bringing the meals all out at different times. I have ate in Brysons before but this will be the last time I will be back. Patricia would need to get her act together. She walked round talking to various tables, just as well she didn't come to us or I would have told her how terrible this experience was.

Four of us decided last minute to go out for dinner and ended up in Bryson's restaurant, Magherafelt. I'm a long time customer of owners Peter and Patricia going back to when it was a small establishment that always served good home made food and last evenings meal was back to it's best.Good simple menu, that has to please even the most pernickety eater.We had a variety of starters from chicken wings to duck salad and the chicken and beef mains were excellent.Definitely a great place to eat and a nice touch when the owners come over to say hello and offer a complimentary drink.We will be back.

Popped in for an afternoon meal and were not disappointed by either choice or quality of food. Roast beef dinner was sumptuous, tender meat, and the lasagne dish was top notch. All beautifully presented and not expensive. The starters were very good too, especially the crispy duck. Good selection of food and pleasant staff.

I really love dining at Brysons restaurant. The menu has a varied range of choice dishes.The staff are very sociable and efficient in their particular tasks.The food served is always marvellous and goes down a treat.I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and relations and they would not be disappointed.

Had a 1st class anniversary dinner for all the family meal was exceptional couldn't have asked for better even got a complimentary bottle of bubbly the owners were very welcoming and a great night was had by all very good value for money

V disappoint v little on the plate wen the veg did arrive everyone had there dinner eat an no red sauce or salt & vinger on the table had to ask for everything an the tea & coffee did not cum either people had left by this stage deff will not b bk we should of had discount this was my daughters christening v important day !!

Visited on Valentines and boy did we pick a good place. We got 3 courses and every single bit was amazing. They did however run out of creme brulee (my favourite dessert ever) but was very pleased with what I choose instead. Have been back in this place since for the night out but haven't ate in it in a while. Must definitely do that soon.

Have eaten here several times and cannot find fault. The menu is varied and offers great value for money and I have always received great service, one of my faves !

visited Brysons for the first time on Thursday 27th August...I was with my sister and niece{who is very picky}..we were greeted by a lovely waiter..I think he said his name was Matthew. We had a lovely 3 course meal..food was piping hot and service was excellent...will definitely go back next time I visit Magherafelt

A friend and I called in for dinner tonight to avail of the 2 courses for £11.95 offer and were very impressed. Our waitress Teresa could not have been more polite or welcoming, and we took advantage of a couple of the £3 daiquiri cocktails, which were really nice, and great value! We didn't have to wait long at all on our food, and it was presented nicely and tasted great. We were very impressed with our starters, which were the salt and chili chicken, and nachos, which were a satisfying sized portion and also very tasty. We stayed on for a couple more cocktails, and found the bar staff to also be very pleasant. All round a lovely evening, would definitely recommend!

Dinner here for the first time on Easter Monday with the family. The advertised Gastropub 2 course menu for £11.95 was replaced by a very limited choice of options, presumably because it was a bank holiday. Very disappointed to wait 1hour 20mins for our food, having enquired twice from staff who told us on each occasion our food was on its way (without even checking with the kitchen!). When our food arrived (chicken curry) this was equally disappointing, tasteless and poor quality. We will definitely not be returning!

My daughter and l decided to go to Brysons for drinks and a chat. A young waiter took our drinks order straight away and left menus with us. We stayed for coffee and dessert and another wine:). We spoke with Patricia and passed on our compliments about waiter and pavlova:). Nice little bar but we left as it was beginning to get a little busier and louder at the bar. I was in this evening, Friday the 27th of March. We had the amazing offer 2 courses for £11.95. Food was first class. We had never been to Bryson's before and will definitly be back. We had a main and sweet. Everything was beautiful but the Fajitas were out of this world. Service could have been better. But overall we enjoyed our experience

Attended Bryson's bar on Saturday past to watch the final day of the 6 nations rugby, The bar was jam packed with a wide age range of people & the atmosphere was electric, We started off by ordering the 'Old favourite' Pint of Guinness (The BEST pint i've had in a good while), The service in the front bar was 1st class & the barman was good 'Craic'. Also really nice gesture from the venue was to hand out FREE finger food during the rugby (Not too many places do that) - We stayed for all 3 games & had the perfect day. Will def be back to Bryson's.

We have been to Brysons for food several times and returned last Sunday evening for the evening menu. There was a horrible atmosphere entering the place. The bar stank of smoke and drink, as if it hadn't been properly cleaned from the Saturday night before. There were also several men drinking at the bar watching football who continued to get noisier and louder as the evening wore on. Not exactly the dining atmosphere you'd like.We ordered off the set menu, with some of us having starters and mains and some having main and desserts. There was one waitress on that evening and she could not have been more uninterested in us. Took forever to take our order and even forgot to ask what our side dishes were? She just assumed we all wanted chips. The soup tasted like it had been made 4 or 5 days ago. The chicken burger that was supposed to come fully loaded with bacon and cheese came with 2 old pieces of lettuce and one bit of bacon burnt to a crisp. Everything else that came out was cold. We finished what we could and waited for the waitress to come and ask how our meal was, which by the look of the plates had not gone down well. She never arrived. We then waited on her for 45 MINUTES to clear our plates. We were in the place for nearly 2 hours in all.We were fed up waiting so went to the till to pay, leaving the plates stacked up on the table. We told her to forget about dessert, but then she offered for us to take them home. We did do, only to find on the way home that both the sticky toffee pudding and the cream on the side were off.Disgraceful dinner at Brysons. Needless to say we won't be back.

We popped in for Sunday lunch last week. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The menu was good and the food was very nice.Well worth a visit.

Well run pub, very friendly service and gets a good clientele. Very soon you will be on first name terms with the bar staff. It is not on the main drag in the town so unless you are introduced to it or are from the local area you may miss it. Its speciality that brings the crowd in will be the good bands that play at the weekends. The food is good but in this town the expectations are high as there are so many good restaurants and might be more for a night out with food in company than a candlelit dinner for two. An open fire in the eating area would be good for ambience and a bit of heat on these cold nights. Wall art by Fitz outside gives that alternative credibility and lets you know the crowd inside are a bit more down to earth, into music and a maybe more casual than the nightclub but not so casual to be singing along to a country song, if you get me…relaxed.

Prebooked for 14 people for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and at a great price. Extra portions were offered. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.

It took us about 3 seconds to get in contact with the locals! They were all very friendly and we spent a splendid evening in this pub.

Was at a 60th birthday party here. We had pre-booked our orders as there was quite a few people attending the party. Food was hot, tasty and served fast. Its reasonably priced and the atmosphere was nice.

Friendly staff and excellent service, nothing too much trouble, went for lunch yesterday, couldn't believe the amount of choice on the menu but was thinking Caeser Salad, then I saw the main, Chicken Breast Caeser Salad Burger, to die for! Accompanied with chips and champ, stuffing of course, you can't go to Brysons without trying the home made stuffing recipe! There are some good restaurants in Magherafelt but you just can't go past Bryson's, it just hits all the right notes. very friendly staff, and excellent food...though would love to see a wider choice of vegetarian dishes?? Nice atmosphere as long as theres not too many people drinking at the bar. Definitely worth a visit

Our party of four visited Brysons last week without a reservation.We were seated quickly and our waitress was very pleasant and helpful.The meals were served quickly and as usual were delicious.Would definitely recommend.

Visited Brysons last night. Service and food was excellent. Steaks were cooked perfectly and meal was good value for money. Gabriel was our waiter and he was efficient, attentive and an excellent waiter. Well done Gabriel!!

We would recommend this place for a bite to eat, the early bird offers are a bargain and the guy who served us couldn't be more helpful. The Guinness wheaten bread was excellent.

While on holidays from Australia we came across Brysons bar in magherafelt, Were we found real irish hospitality and great food. We could not have asked for bettet service, this establishment had a genuine interest in our travels and made us feel very welcomeA must for all locals and travelers in the area, cheers to Teresa & all the staff from Qld, Australia

Was in Bryson's, Magherafelt, over the Easter Weekend & our group had a ball. Food was excellent & good-sized portions. Most of our group had steaks & they were cooked to perfection.Our server Tresa was great & catered to our evey need. We ended up staying & partying the night away. Will be calling back to Bryson's very soon & would recommend it highly.

Stopped off for something to eat on our way to visit family. I couldn't fault the food, both me and my partner enjoyed the steak and Guinness pie, he had a coffee to follow and I had a lovely glass of red wine. Out waitress was called Kelly and she was very helpful and efficient which was brilliant considering the main bar was busy and we were tight for time. Will definitely call back!

We came here on sat nite to enquire about booking for a function for a 40th birthday. We thought we would grab a nite to eat before we made a final decision and boy am I glad we did!! As I would have been very embarrassed to have asked my family & friends to pay if we had not tried it first. The service was so slow and it wasn't even that busy, we waited for 15/20 mins before some young waitress even took out order and a longer wait to get starters. I had chilli garlic prawns and my wife had duck salad, mine was ok but my wife duck was like leather, way way to over cooked and not much in the way of salad. Very disappointed. Then for what seemed like forever (40 mins) we finally got our main course. Well my wife's sisters scampi was not scampi they were prawns the same as I had for the starter, who would ever thing they were the same??? My wife had Louisiana, very small chicken fillet, very small lumpy mash and soggy onions, I had a steak sandwich, if I could call it a sandwich (half a slice of bread) cheeses which were barly melted and bit of tough steak (defo not rump) as I asked for my steak medium I was told it couldn't be coked medium. Small sides. My wife's sister didn't even bother with dessert. We just paid and left counting our lucky stars we had the sence to try it 1st. Yes there is some good reviews but on this occasion out experience wasn't good. It will be a while before we venture here again and we are just glad we didn't have 45/50 family members complaining to us for not trying it first.

Went into this restaurant hearing reports I wanted to judge for myself , being in a large family we wanted somewhere that was less painful on the pocket . I can say the value was hard to beat and the food quality was excellent and service was first class ! I think the server was known as Moreen and nothing was to much work she was very professional at her work . I cannot wait to return for some more excellent food at great value .

We ate here on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated downstairs in bar area and it was noisy due to football being on big screens. However, we had a great meal. 2 courses for £12.95! Excellent choices and delicious food. All in £60 inc. drinks for 3 adults and 2 kids

I've been to Brysons for both food and to drink, and yeah its ok but just okay.Food: The menu is basic but it is "pub grub" but talk about slow!! It is slow anytime iv ate here "watching paint dry" but the food is always served hot and its always been tasty with expection to the apple crumble so stick to the chocolate cake or sticky toffey pudding. The weekend staff are usualy A'level studnets who are generaly clueless half time so week nights are better.Night life: Brysons biggest downfall is its size, its quite small and on weekends its packed with more A'Level students this time not working but drinking and a young croud, but the through the week its great for a pint, football season it can be packed as expected, its a nice place if there is a good croud.

Went to Bryson on Valentines night. My husband and i enjoyed our meal and the staff were very friendly. We met up with one of the members of staff Maureen Gibson who we found to be thoroughly professional and courteous. We shall be returning to Brysons in the near future.

Was here last weekend for a christmas work party and I have to say the food and staff were brilliant in a very busy restaurant. A young waitress named shannon spent most time looking after us including taking drinks orders.. (dont know what the supposed bar staff were standing chatting for!!) Brilliant service by all waiting staff but this young lady seemed to go the extra mile for us. Brilliant night in a lively place. Will certainly be back!!

6 of us had our Christmas party night here,the food and service was excellent and the owner Patricia made sure we were happy with the entire evening including live seasonal music and hot mince pies to complete our successful dinner.Parking was located at entrance to restaurant and the decor and atmosohere were very welcoming. We are looking forward to booking another dinner in the new year at this wonderful restautant.

We went here for a quick lunch after a wedding, knowing we wouldn't be eating at the reception till 5.30. We had booked for a group of 10 the day before. When we arrived at 1.30 the place was empty yet no table had been set up for us! We stood for 10mins while 1 person moved some tables together - still no cutlery, glasses, anything! We were given a very restricted Christmas menu but we had to ask for someone to take a drinks order. We waited 10 mins for someone to come. Wine was ordered and some soft drinks. Another 5 min wait! The wine arrived then but no glasses! Someone then took our meal order, almost everyone took the vegetable soup, with 1 Christmas dinner. Eventually the glasses were brought over and after another 10 mins, the food! In an empty restaurant this service was totally unacceptable, and I'm afraid the soup wasn't worth waiting for! Very disappointed!

Four of us visited Brysons early last Sunday evening without a reservation. We were seated quickly and our drinks were with us promptly. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot and delicious. The one slight irritation was that they only had a Christmas menu and the turkey dinner was off the menu (sold out the previous evening) A bit strange for a Christmas menu but we had a superb meal and highly recommend.

Went to brysons today for sunday lunch was meet by a lovely waiter who sat us at our table however the table was dirty and we sat for 15minute waiting to get a menu before i actually had to ask for one which was a disgrace!! In my eyes the waiter was the only one working while the two girls stood behind the bar gossiping!! When we were ready to order it took them 10 minutes to realise that we didnt order and we didnt get drinks!! The wait for the food was ridiculous and the girl had to come over and ask what we had ordered for starters eventually got our starters and while eating them my boyfriend had ordered lasagne were he was told there was none left!! They then cme out with the wrong order!! Finished our main course we were then told that there was only apple pie for dessert left!! some point of selling food awful experience

I was passing through Magherafelt with some friends, we stopped to ask a local were they would recommend for food and they advised us to try Bryson’s – I was very pleasantly surprised with the high standard of venue, food and service. It was a rare occasion when you find a venue which can deliver on all fronts, we had a excellent meal and then were able to relax in the old bar at the front followed on by enjoying live music upstairs, Bryson’s appears to be a well run family busy and it makes all the difference. Glad I was advised to try it and would come back to Magherafelt for this place alone.

I recently had lunch in the ever popular brysons and am very pleased that the food and service is as good atmosphere .There is a welcoming feeling and staff where very attentive .The food was delicious a real relaxing lunch which was served promptly and menu had good selection plus specials on offer as well.Iwould highly recomend this for lunch or dinner . Called in here for ' a quick bite ' I have ate in Brysons a number of times and found everything fine .Was with a friend and my daughter, was seated promptly by a young pleasant man who gave us menu's and shortly after took our order, our starter came about twenty minutes later ,which we enjoyed, and then we waited and waited and waited the young man who had served us had went of duty and a young girl had taken over,but she was to busy hanging over the bar chatting.As my daughter wouldn't let me complain we waited some more until it became ridiculous and my friend lifted the empty plates and carried them to the bar and gave them to the waitress !! The waitress then came over to our table shortly after and said the chef was preparing our main course ,what he was doing whilst we ate our starters and waited forty five minutes after we finished them and we were the only people eating at the time, we will never know !Sorry Brysons the food was great but I won't be in any hurry back, just like your staff weren't in any hurry to serve us :) .

Called in here just off the cuff on Sunday, were seated straight away and offered the Menu and the Lunch Special, we had a great meal, very tasty, quick friendly service with both Husband & Son happy as the football was on in the background. This is a bar we have become very fond of, have been here now for lunch with the children, on a work night out and a Christmas dinner night with friends every time have had a fantastic night/day, would definitely recommend!!

Ate here recently with a number of friends and was left disappointed. Upon arrival we were told that there would be a slight wait on the food as there was a funtion upstairs. We appreciated the consideration at the time, but we certainly didn't expect to wait for over 45mins. The actual floor staff were very helpful - they stopped at our table numerous times to check that everything was ok (except for the lack of food). Table was cleared in a reasonable enough time - it was maybe another 15mins before our main arrived. When it came to ordering desert, we placed our order to then learn that two of the deserts were sold out - no big deal, these things happen, but as it was a bank holiday weekend I thought that maybe they would have been expecting a bigger crowd - therefore ensuring they had enough kitchen staff and wine (we were told there was no rose wine left).To conclude, our food was fantastic when we finally received it, there certainly could be no complaints about it - unfortunatley the length of time we had to wait was really disappointing. I have ate here on a number of occasions before - our experience won't put us off - but it will be a considerable length of time before I go back.

We ate dinner here in May having been recommended by our B&B. It was a quite Thursday night and there were only two tables in use. We had a good meal; the food was well prepared and presented and the waitress was very friendly and efficient. After dinner we enjoyed a couple of hours of Irish music in the attached bar. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Ate in here tens of times... And every time its been consistently good...peter and patrica (owners) always over talking to us and craicing away even had buffet and functions in here over several months very easy staff to work with 10/10 Highly recommended!!

This is a pub/restaurant with split levels. nice decor and a big welcome. Service is excellent. Staff welcoming, friendly and efficient. A good range of well presented food. i had the chilli prawns starter followed by the baked salmon. Fellow diners enjoyed lamb, Louisiana chicken, leek and pork sausages. All cooked to perfection. The creme brulee dessert was a let down. A grainy custard concoction lurked under the crunchy caramel. We dined in the Red Room which gives way to a very loud disco at the weekend at around 10.30

I've been with my family for Sunday lunch today. Excellent food and excellent service. Excellent value- 3 courses for £9.95, soup starter, roast beef & pavalova. You couldnt beat it, was 100%! The Staff at Brysons are very professional and very attentive, thanks- looking forward to comming back!

Wish we had another night to go back! Dinner was excellent ..and very friendly staff. Thanks for a memorable night!
