Small and cosy tea room where we enjoyed the most beautiful family afternoon tea. Just a lovely way to end our weeks stay in North Yorkshire. The bread for the sandwiches was so soft, tea was served with free top ups and scones freshly made from the oven and warm to eat. Cakes were beautiful too and there was more than enough for all 6 of us to enjoy. Ages ranged from 10-44yrs and enjoyed by all. If you like a bit of nostalgia and like afternoon tea, this is the place to go. We would highly recommend The Middleton Tea Rooms.

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,

Sorry should have left a review long before now. Last stayed here in June, third or fourth stay here now for myself and my wife, as we came up with friends who had not stayed in the area before. Lovely stay as always and well looked after by Lottie and the staff. Rooms are not "The Grand", but that's exactly why we love this place, it's a cottage feel! Yes, you may be able to hear other guests from time to time, but it's not IBIZA!! Have always found other guests to be friendly and chatty too, which is nice. A relaxed atmosphere with nice people in a lovely location. If you want a nice comfortable stay in the company of good honest people with lovely surroundings and in a great location then Cottage Leas is ideal. Will definitely be returning, and will 100% be ordering the black pudding and bacon stack!

This is a traditional pub that seems very popular. It has its own brewery on site that you can visit for £11 pp including tasting. We just had lunch. There’s an extensive menu of typical pub fare as well as some more interesting dishes. The rare beef sandwich on very fresh brown bread was very well filled and was served with chunky chips. The ciabatta toasties were very satisfying too. The person who ordered duck pâté as a lighter meal found that there was enough pâté to warrant more than a couple of small pieces of bread and when more was requested it was provided. Everyone’s side salad was a bit sad as the mixed leaves were past their best.
