Amazing visited today as a special treat for Mother’s Day for afternoon tea. The food was amazing plenty of verity and there was so much we were able to take half the cakes home. All the food was very fresh home cooked food. The staff were all very attentive nothing was too much trouble very friendly. The price was very reasonable if anything they could charge more. They would definitely give Betty’s in Harrogate a run for there money. Thank you for making my day so special. Well done

Edited review. No where near the standard of what it used to be since the business changed ownership. Cheaper products being used whilst same price being charged. No attention to detail any more. Your order was always done with care and attention. They had the best chip shop for miles you have to be idiotic to mess it up this bad. Queues used to be out the door now its pretty much dead.

I wouldn't bother. We're here now and it's a bit shambolic to be fair. Waited ages to be shown to our seat. After being sat a good 10/15 minutes my partner asked the poor young lass doing all the running around, what's happening and she asked "has no-one took your order" seeing as she was the only one seemingly doing most things, she should have known this. We were told we'd have cutlery soon. Eventually our drinks orders were taken and a casino chip given, relating to the size of plate we wanted. We then had a VERY long wait in a queue for carvery, which to be honest, all meats looked very dry. We both opted for beef, which we could have taken to sole our shoes with. The veg (with the exception of carrots and sweetcorn) were all biege, and the cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and sprouts, were cooked to death and just mush! 'Roast' potatoes were very similar to boiled, perhaps that's what they were? By the time we had sat down, still no sign of cutlery, I asked one of the young ladies at the bar and was told "2 minutes" after waiting 5 minutes, I helped myself, as I don't like cold food. At no point were we offered the (free) soup starter and the stuffing was all gone! This establishment seems to be run by "kids" and as helpful as the young lass with the blonde ponytail was, she really didn't know if she was coming or going! When it was time to pay, they didn't have a clue what we'd had! In addition, the absence of napkins/serviettes makes me think this place is low grade. Best thing on our plates was the mash, back to Sir Jack's next week then 🤔

We have had a few carverys here and the food is excellent.we also had our wedding reception here on 29th july ('23) it was perfect, Karen (landlady) pulled out all the stops and made our day perfect.Although we did our own food, The room looked amazing. The bar staff were so lovely and friendly and the DJ was brilliant anything that was requested he played as well as his own choice of music, excellent. I would highly recommend this venue for any celebration, Karen makes everyone feel special.fantastic place, amazing staff, wonderful Landlady, thankyou all so much. We.ll be back for lunch!

Think we went at the wrong time. We turned up for a quick pint. Which was brilliant, but there were more kids than adults. Climbing everywhere. Lots of chatter, but the most annoying thing was that the adults who sat away from their kids were very loud.
