Welcoming staff. Our walking group of between 12 & 16 people is usually fitted in at fairly short notice, eg., 3 hours. The staff are always helpful, and dietary needs are always met.

We would highly recommend this venue. We went for lunch today at this restaurant. All of party were surprised that it wasn't busier. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and polite. There is am extensive bar offering a great selection of both alcoholic and soft drinks. We were a party of 3. Two of our party choose the Standard sized Carvery. They both stated the meat was excellent and so were the vegetables both in quality and variety. One of the party asked that I mention the gravey as they particularly enjoyed it. I myself am coliaic so I choose a Gluten free salad with Chicken and bacon plus blue cheese dressing. My meal came with the green gluten free flags and seperate cutlery snd napkins as is necessary. I was very happy with level of professionalism from the bar who took the order, the front of house staff who checked what I wanted to order, the chef who prepared my order and last but not least the server who delivered my order. The meal was delicious and stylishly plated to emphasize the variety of salad ingredients. Although the restaurant was quite not too busy today the overall ambience was warm, welcoming and friendly.

Staff are welcoming and kind. My personal favourites were the onion rings and dough balls as they were freshly made and tasty.

Food was generaly good quality. Had a large plate carvery, comes with extra pigs in blankets and sausage. The pigs were hard and dry due to sitting to long, simular with the sausage but not as hard and dry.

Discusting. No consideration for disabled people. Told to wait outside for our table. Cancelled table and left. Totally discusting customer service

My husband and I enjoyed excellent carvery meals here but since he passed away I occasionally go on my own when I have been shopping. Eating alone is not easy but the food is excellent, staff welcoming and I am getting used to it. I get a roast dinner which I would not cook for one person. Well done Moorlands!

Went here years ago with my grandad and it was lovely but went here tonight with my partner to show him how amazing it used to be but we was very disappointed with the carvery the gammon smelt very weird and the food was extremely bland hardly ate any of it and now feel very poorly, very disappointed

We got there bit early for carvery paid £37? For 3 meals we were first in queue yet veg cold n lumpy mash gravy warmed it up service with an attitude it was a treat for my son n daughter as we just found out she's expecting so supposed to Happy event we ddnt hang around forpudding disgusted by food and will not be recommend to friends gone down hill.

Dirty not somewhere I'd bother with again. This is second visit within 6 months, other than drinks didn't take a week to recieve nothing else has changed.

Great carvery with amazing staff

Hemos estado múltiples veces, cuando empezamos a venir hace 2 - 3 años parecía mucho mejor, sin embargo la calidad de la comida hoy en día era decepcionante. La mayor parte de la carne era Gristle, lo que significa que no podíamos comerla. El puré de papa tenía grumos enormes. Sin embargo, el pavo siempre fue agradable y hoy fue igual de agradable. Definitivamente necesita una renovación

Visited by chance have been to other Stonehouse restaurants previously and found this one to be one of the beat we have been to. Carvery was delicious thank you

Great pub with very reasonably priced food. I had the Plant-Based Burger but was disappointed to find just one tiny piece of red onion. I was tempted with the carvery when I noticed they offered Plant-Based chicken but then found out that there was milk in the mash

Personal muy agradable y servicial, especialmente Alex que hizo todo lo posible para ordenar a los niños unos deliciosos gofres para el desayuno y la señora que se aseguró de que podíamos utilizar una oferta de la aplicación. La calidad de los artículos de desayuno era buena desde la sección 'todo lo que pueda comer'. Buen ambiente, apto para familias y no demasiado ocupado durante la mitad del período, sin duda volveríamos : )

We used to live in Sheffield 9 years ago and this was our favourite place for a decent carvery once we finished work. 9 years on we decided to come back for a day out from Staffordshire and stop for lunch. Monday the 17th of Feb. The place was busy for a Monday lunch time. Pleasently surprised same chefs! No wonder the place is still packed!! Staff welcoming, food outstanding 👌 😋, carvery chef 10/10. Everything spot on! I'm so happy this place is still amazing! Well done and thank you for making our day out a day to remember!

Great breakfast, good value for money and friendly staff. The only thing that let's this pub down is the no dogs policy. Surely in a pub this big there could be a section for owners of well behaved dogs. Especially considering it's on the edge of the peak district, which is full of dog walkers every weekend. Also, going on past experience, I can assure you my dog and many others are far better behaved than some of the kids in there.

Always really nice, hot food at the carvery. Lovely gravy (not too thin) Staff are friendly and always accommodating.

Very good food great service good prices very welcoming

A good value Sunday roast carvery treat, or so my wife and I thought. The pork and turkey meat was succulent but lacked much flavour, I couldn't tell the difference between the meats, to be honest! The additional pigs in blankets were similar with very little flavour. However the roast pots, carrots, peas, braised onions and stuffing & gravy were all delicious. We visited 4-5pm... It was still quite busy too! Service was OK but a large noisy 'family' sat nearby which sort of spoiled our afternoon treat out somewhat. That can't be helped but we may revisit next time we're out there.

He estado aquí un par de veces a lo largo de los años, siempre ha sido barato y alegre, gran relación calidad-precio. Sin embargo, estaba muy decepcionado con esta visita... parece que ha bajado colina bastante. La carne era preciosa, sin embargo, el resto de la carvery estaba agobiante. La verdura era fría y sosa, el 'puré de patata' era horrible que era grumoso y compacto. Los asientos estaban gastados y las mesas eran 'pegajosas' Desafortunadamente no me apresuraré a volver, que es una pena, ya que siempre fue un buen lugar para entrar después de un paseo por el campo.

Went for Christmas day and the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly, welcoming and made it feel very Christmassy. Great service. Food was nice too.

We had a lovely family catch up food was good no complaints there.. Atmosphere was festive for the children with us. On the downside we had a very grumpy member of staff dressed in an elf outfit who put a damper on our experience. He should have been dressed as the grinch!

Only started visiting this place in the last couple of months after remembering my late mum taking me here years ago. Decided to book for my family for the festive 3 course meal and it was fantastic. The food was great as always and all the staff were friendly as they have always been when we have visited before. Special mention to the young man who looked after us. He was friendly, polite and looked after us brilliantly from start to finish. Didn't catch his name but he's an asset to the company. We'll be back in the new year if not before.

Festive meet up with friends,most of us had the festive menu, excellent service and quality,staff very friendly and helpful hit by a short power cut but they were really quick to deal with it and get back to normal service

Estaba decorado para Navidad y nos sentimos como si estuviéramos dentro de una hermosa gruta de Navidad. Bien hecho a la persona que tuvo la bengala para decorarlo. La comida era buena. Teníamos el carvery, pescado con patatas fritas y hamburguesas. Todo con una gran relación calidad-precio y las comidas de los niños también. Tuvimos una bienvenida muy cálida y todo el personal muy amable y se inclinó hacia atrás para nosotros y los niños. Gracias.

It used to be good but carvery is not hot & portion control on the meat. If I can't get better than home dinner wasn't of time going.

Great carvery! Friendly staff, warm inside on such a cold day. We had a £6 carvery voucher, the food was delicious, just arrived & served before the lunchtime rush so no queuing at all.

Excellent staff at the moorlands. It has become our favourite Stonehouse to vist. From the service to the kitchen staff they were all brilliant. They are a credit to your pub. We normally go to the young vanish but stopped going because of the customer service there is shocking. We will be definitely visting more off to you guys thank you

A very pleasant experience. Had the carvery where the meat portions were generous , roast and mashed potatoes were available plus SIX different fresh vegetables. Well worth a visit though I suspect it may be very busy at certain times. Visited again November 2024, still just as good.

Como siempre el restaurante era encantador, limpio y amable. Estaba muy ocupado también. Estoy seguro de que la gente como yo va con bastante regularidad. Fuimos por un carvery ya que tenía un vale de £ 6 por comida. Todo bien hasta ahora. Mi esposa y yo pedimos la carne. Fue horrible. Ninguno de los dos ha tenido nada peor. No había forma de que pudiéramos comerlo. Tan gomoso. Lo trajimos a casa para los perros. Así que resultó ser un viaje caro. Volveremos a ir porque normalmente lo pasamos genial.

The service and atmosphere was great. It was nice and busy. Staff cleaned up tables quickly and tidily. The food is usually good but last night let them down. The beef looked good so we ordered that. It turned out to be awful. Nearer to leather than beef. Had to take it home for the dog.

Lawrence was excellent at supporting and looking after our group, we had 3 who needed gluten free, 2 children and 2 normal adults. The gf gravy, plain cauliflower was ready for them and they were given their own serving spoon.

Best carvery I know round here. Top class. Always enjoy a visit to the moorlands too notch.

We have some vegetarian diets in our family and honestly, these guys really do try and cater for everyone- VERY inclusive! Can you please pass on our thanks to the polite cooks stood behind the carvery date 30th October 2024. Very warm staff and helpful and they offered us unlimited Yorkshire puds so, can’t fault them!

This place is showing its age. Works out more expensive than a Toby carvery. And the food isn't as good.

Staff were ignorant and rude, breakfast selection was lacking and poor quality. Extra charge for mushrooms on an "all you can eat" breakfast seems strange. Inside the pub feels grubby and dated. Have been a few times over the years and always leave feeling the same way. Wont be going again.

Went in on a Monday afternoon for the 50% off burger deal..enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly…the actual restaurant in my opinion was dirty…carpets where we were sat hadn’t been hoovered which looks like from a busy carvery the day before….dead flies in the windows…cobwebs, smeared windows from where children had been touching them…toilets were ok ish empty toilet roll holders on the floor and tissue on the floors…..could understand if this was a busy shift but it was 2.30 in a Monday afternoon….the whole place looks tired and dirty….needs a re vamp asap

Lovely food and great service with fair pricing! We always enjoy the Moorlands either as a couple or as a family due to a great variety of choice on the menu! Also be aware to check the Stonehouse app because there's normally some great offers to take advantage of 👍

I visit the storehouse pubs for dinner quite often but after visiting the Moorlands I was quite disappointed. The dinner wasn't that tasty to be honest and the meats were very chewy and had a lot of grizzle in them. I had the Gammon and the Beef. The cauliflower cheese is tasteless watered down version and nothing like the taste of cheese, and the cauliflower is always hard and undercooked. The bottomless ice cream is tasteles like in every Stonehouse pub, maybe that's why you can have as much as you like. Me personally wouldn't bother having the all you can eat ice cream at all, unless it tasted like ice cream. I would like to say I have had a Sunday calvary at other pubs where the cauliflower is cooked to perfection and the cheese sauce is tasty and stringy like proper cauliflower cheese should be, if that's what your advertising.. Also the meats I have had at other pubs has fell apart on your fork its that good and this is all for the same price as what you charge for a Sunday calvary. I am not in the habit of complaining but I think if I can get a better tasteing diner somewhere else for the same money, then perhaps you need to improve. I will visit again but if things have not improved I will not bother visiting again.
