The Moorlands in Sheffield in Rotherham

The service and food was brilliant well done to the staff at moorlands.

Seems to have gone downhill a bit peas were cold, roast potatoes burnt and cauliflower cheese watery

We came as a party of 12 (aged 3months to 80 years) to celebrate our dad's 80th birthday. The staff could not have been more welcoming or more accommodating. The food was great and really good value. Thank you so much for making it such a lovely memorable evening for my dad.

We were a birthday party of 12 and all very disappointed in the quality of the food. We asked for no BBQ sauce on the burger - it came with sauce. The mash potato was watery and lumpy other vegs overcooked, gravy was congealed and not labelled. Service was very slow, we had to move our plates off our table onto another empty table by ourselves before asking the staff for our desert, (our time slot was 5-7) which we got about 7.15, we then had to ask twice more for the child's desert. Our used plates were still on the other table when we left. The staff themselves were polite and courteous, when we could find them.

Wow ! We use moorlands very often for breakfast and really enjoy it during the week. However we went Sunday and were VERY UPSET AND DISSAPOINTED ! During the week the lady always says your ok to use reserved tables,so we assumed this was the same scenario for Sunday. We sat at table 7 and were shouted at by some jumped up jobs worth young lad ! His attitude was disgusting towards us and he started man handling our property to another table. No customers came to table 7 whilst we sat there ,so we could have used it .I hope jobs worth enjoys his Sunday because he's spoilt ours .We're sorry to say but we won't return and you lost valued customers.

Burgers are great and the carvery is generally nice.

Not good value anymore. Yorkshires were cold as was some of the veg. 2 thin slices of meat you could nearly see through

Carvery nothing to write home about. Would have been nice to have home made Yorkshire pudding instead of frozen. Had a traditional carvery and was given two tiny slices of fatty beef and no second meat.The guy doing the carving needs lessons in customer service and basic pleasantry. Overall not a great birthday experience. Been many times before and used to be good...never again !

Lovely cooked breakfast . Not many places do fried bread. But it was my birthday. So went here for a treat. Next visit was a quick tea for us. Everyone enjoyed their dinners

Food was fantastic as always. But what I thought was really great was; the server cut into a new joint of beef and it was extremely fatty and grizzly and he asked for a new joint as it wasn't up to scratch, I thought this was exceptional attitude towards your customers, and just shows how you go above and beyond to make your customers happy. The only thing I would change would be that we was sat right next to a till and the waiters/waitresses were all gathered around chatting and talking so it was quite off putting while eating our food.

Service was great, the chef accommodated for dairy free on request.

Great speedy service, had a meat free carvery, thought the cauliflower cheese was very tasteless, the rest was lovely.

Not been to the Moorlands for approx 5 years it definitely won't be as long next time...... Really impressed with the food and service and a special mention to Dave C on one of the best chicken burgers ever! 10/10

We enjoyed our stay. The food is amazing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful especially Taylor. They went out their way to make our experience amazing even it's most busy day of the year. Even we got a call to make sure we got right help due we having a wheelchair user.

I treated my dad to Sunday lunch with my husband & grown up children. The staff were friendly & helpful. The carvery was amazing, the beef was to die for. Our only issue was the plates were extremely hot so they could do with trays like other establishment provide. Also there were only two disabled parking spaces so myself & my dad had a bit of a walk to the entrance as we suffer with walking difficulties.

Great value. Excellent carvery, Good quality and tender meat. Good variety of vegetables and sides. Lovely, friendly chef and kitchen staff who came to us to sing happy birthday to my husband. Really pleasant atmosphere. Great job! Thank you Moorlands. See you soon.

slowly going downhill since covid . veg selection poor. dry and overcooked . meats not great quality like before. the turkey seems more steamed than roasted . beef always tough . long time staff always friendly newer staff less so . prices have gone up. just doesnt seem to be worth it . all in all a disappointment after many years of good quality food and service

The staff are an absolute credit to this place, really refreshing to see and witness. The family and I went for a Sunday morning breakfast after doing the junior park run. This is our first time here in about 13 years. Great value and felt really welcomed so will certainly be going back.

Nice full English buffet. Friendly staff. Nice tables. Coffee was basic and not sure why mushrooms were 49p extra, as one could chose to heap on bacon, sausages etc.

the only problem was the toilet area floors extremely sticky ladies and mens toilets this was informed by family members

Was such a welcoming venue. All the staff were happy and polite which reflected good management. It is a rare thing these days to experience this. Food was delicious and affordable. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing..my wife and I called for a carvery at approximately 4-30pm and it looked as though alot of the food had been there since lunchtime. The turkey was dry the roast potatoes had no middle just a burnt taste and dry ..all in all a tasteless meal.

Staff are great but when you order something they never have it in. They are always short on food on a couple occasions like fish or pudding at times

Been to the Moorlands today for a carvery, was amazing as always. Scott was in today and always gives great service, he is a credit to the team.

Really enjoyed the food at Moorlands. I had the carvery which was excellent. Dave the chef took good care of us. I was with quite a large group, and we were well looked after.

Collected "Too Good To Go" tonight. The takeaway was really well presented, ample and excellent quality. It obviously represented great value. Staff were extremely pleasant and professional, on arrival Jessica was attentive and welcoming. David when serving was conscientious, helpful and customer orientated. Charles was particularly polite and amiable. First Class all round, Thank You Jess, Dave & Charles.

Lovely dinner with the family at The Moorlands today. Service from Dave C was incredible, really friendly and helped us find a table with our pushchair, helped entertain our restless youngster and made sure we were looked after all the while. When I had a funny turn he offered to help. Really enjoyable food and lovely friendly atmosphere. 5* all round and Dave C deserves a payrise!

fantastic carvery, very friendly staff working there. especially Dave C, he had some amazing jokes and one liners behind the carvery counter.

Dave always makes the best pizzas

Lovely food and service by Dave C tonight for my brothers birthday. Pizzas cooked beautifully. Fast service and very friendly. 👍🏻 Also gave our children some extra Yorkshires and even some meat scraps for our pets. Thanks Dave 👍🏻

Diabolical food - simple chicken burger. It was very rubbery chicken.

The staff were amazing. They could see we were struggling being disabled people and they went over and above to help us. They brought drinks to our table, got our food for us, incredible

Use quite a lot at the moorlands, every tuesday we go for a pizza. Frequentley fo a carvery. Staff very accomadating and freindly particularly Dave who makes the pizzas and John the Barman. Would recommend any one.

Went for the carvery... Not as cheap as it used to be, but where is nowadays ? Been going here for over 20 years. Very busy this time. Didn't book a table, which seems to be the norm nowadays, with lots of tables with 'reserved' papers on them... It is what it is. Nice staff, an ok selection of drinks. Nice place in all... Just remember, it can get 'very' busy, if you don't book a table.

Simple carvery pretty tasteless

We go here regularly, great local pub.

Had small carvery, gammon,beef or turkey on a large plate. So plenty of room for veg of decent choice which is ok, not over hot but would suite people who like cooler food . Plenty of gravy,baked beans,cranberry sauce etc. Reasonably priced.

Better than Toby's fr Dave c makes a mean pizza

This has become my go to eat out venue. The staff are great, as is the atmosphere and the food and service are 5*****

Came here on Saturday evening can't believe what great value the food is and how good it is. Definitely be visiting the moorlands a lot more from now on highly recommended. Went Tuesday evening for a carvey didn't disappoint ill be back soon. Been back for another carvey didn't disappointed

Food fine. Very busy as offer on. Good price. Tables and benches could've done with a clean. Very sticky and wall had handprints, food on it.

Great place for a decent carvery. The beef was delicious, well cooked but not dry. Loved it.

Scott and his team were exceptional. Especially Aly and Gracie ont bar. We expected to get the normal well her allergy isn't on the government list bullsh1t. But their service was exceptional the best we have ever received in over 30 years for allergies. My Mum is allergic to garlic and lactose intolerant so it's not rocket science. But we were made to feel like normal diners. Nothing was too much. Then the food the meat was incredibly well cooked best sunday lunch ever outside my Mums kitchen. We went on Mothers day last year and it was average but now its got to be top 5 in Sheffield the turn around is exponential. Presumably to Scotts management.

5 adults went for the all you can eat breakfast. We enjoyed the food, the top ups and it was very reasonably priced.

Just want to wish all the staff A Happy New Year! We have had lunch there today. Our big family was a party of 19! and how all the staff looked after us today was amazing they can’t do enough for you and there so friendly not forgetting to mention the food it’s always lovely! passing this place hundred hundred times every year, this was the first time visit due to everywhere were busy in peak district. arrived 1:30pm on 29th Dec friday. the three courses was £13.50 and it was value for money. the starters, crispy fried chicken and mushroom were ok. the fish and chips was not brilliant, wil not order again. the carvery was good. you can choose one or all three meats. the desserts, apple pie with custard and sticky toffee pudding with custard were good.

Lovely carvery, just 15 mins from Chatsworth house x nice lil visit in between house and garden visit during Xmas. Friendly and warm service too.
