Fabulous food,service and attentive Staff.Marston' s could make it perfect if the had Henderson's Relish with the other sauces.

We took my mother in law and my two sons my wife and lads girlfriend and most important my grandson absolutely delicious carvery absolutely lovely lay out we sat at table 23 we will all be definitely be coming back

Really nice food, steaks are always cooked to perfection, the carvery is always nice and hot, and the large tikka masala is tasty. Always nice and clean inside and the atmosphere is great...lovely if it's a nice day and you can sit outside in the garden area :)

Brilliant local, good food, drinks and atmosphere. The staff are always great.

Come here regularly as we really enjoy the carvery, however, getting a little tired of miserable staff, especially behind the bar. One even saw me approach but pretended to be polishing the bar just to avoid serving. Seriously thinking of changing venue

As always the staff are very polite & friendly, the land lady is very good a credit to the pub. The food & service was good, the price of food & drink is far more expensive than the other pubs in the area by a long way, that’s why we only visit occasionally as it my local it’s a disappointment

Friendly staff and more than willing to tweek the menu to cater for our fussy son and if I'm being critical, the steak can be very hit and miss, some great, some very chewy but overall a great place to dine out with family and friends :)

Great quiz night, Emma was an amazing host.

When for a meal with my mum and sister, mum is gluten free and the staff were very helpful when choosing food and a sweet. Staff were very friendly and plates cleared promptly

Always a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is good, but would be much better if it were HOT. I tried a fresh dish of peppered layered potatoes. Very tasty, but barely warm!!

Waited a while for meal then jacket potato was frozen. A new one came after finished meal. Won't be going again

Waited quite a while for food when it came jacket potato was still frozen and inedible. They brought another one when i had finished meal which wasn't wanted then. Then asked if we wanted sweets or drinks but no offer of anying for compensation Will not be going there again.

I have lived on the estate for around six years. I always choose the winter green as it is local but brilliant! we will always book for birthdays, special occasions or even when we just don’t feel like cooking at home. when i leave the estate i shall still be attending as i feel it is the only part of the estate which hasn’t been spoiled. Thankyou to all the workers who always give us a warm welcome.

Had mac & cheese and paid a bit extra for chicken style strips, realised half way through no crispy onions and only one strip cut into small pieces, bit disappointed really, but will try again sometime maybe.

Don't waste your money, when on Thursday tea time ,some of tbe food we ordered wasn't even available, then when we did get it rude staff only half the cutlery available had to find someone to ask, I ask for extra sauce (was looked at in discussed buy tbe server) never arrived asked a second time ended up with Tom ketchup ( not the tarta sauce I'd asked for ) No one asking if everything is OK once they've taken your money there not interested. We arrived at said time we booked to be told the system had booked us in an hr later( no one knew what was happening). On leaving, another member of staff was moning to customers. That was waiting to be seated that she had no idea what was going on . Her and the rest of the staff. No customer service skills at all. What a disappointing visit

Managed to get a table for 4 straight away. Saw a very long queue at the bar for drinks so decided to try the online new ordering. After scanning the bar code on the menu, I was mislead into signing up for a fitness app costing £60 per month. Managed to get in to the correct app and ordered food and drinks costing £65 (not cheap for a pub), however after 25 minutes still had no drinks so went to ask where they were and was told they couldn't find our table which has the number sat on it. Waited another 20 minutes and had to go and ask where our food was, which coincidentally was 'on it's way'. When the food finally came, it was shall we say 'average' to be polite and certainly not worth the wait. Will not be here again.

What a joke system said we was booked in an hr later than I'd booked even though we'd had a text, Got seated order food at the bar (half wasn't available) slow service, got food asked for extra sauce twice second time I asked I got Tom ketchup (not tarta sauce I'd asked for ) that was slamed down on table in an attitude that was disgusting , food was bad some cold . Don't waste your money . No one come to ask of everything is alright just take your money and that's it rubbish customer service. Staff at the door saying on our way out she doesn't know what's happening (, neither did the rest of the staff)

Just had the best carvery ever and Chris (the head chef) makes the most amazing cauliflower cheese! Definitely coming back again (maybe just for a bowl of cauliflower cheese!)

The carvery was delicious, the meat was melt in your mouth tasty!!! The staff were friendly and service was excellent!!

It took 5 mins to get served at bar as staff was busy slagging other members of staff off there was 6 customers & 6 staff we saw. the phone was constantly ringing but nobody answered just kept walking past only carvery on offer as down a chef but quality of that was poor

We love the winter green… but the beer prices are so expensive we are going to have to go elsewhere.

The Winter Green no longer accepts the Defence Discount Card , not impressed - I have been many times over the years and this hasn't been a problem. Really considering going somewhere else now for a carvery, somewhere that appreciates veterans.

Had a tuna and cheese melt with chips really enjoyed it. But always do when I go here.

Food arrived quickly once ordered. Plenty of beer on tap to choose from. Kids were well looked after which makes all the difference.

Absolutely horrendous! Thought I’d book a lovely meal for my step daughter’s 6th birthday and all the family. Booked for 6pm, the first couple of plates came out around 6.45 then the last 3 plates of food at 7.25, couldn’t even enjoy a meal altogether due to this as the last plates came as everyone else had finished their meal! The food was bog standard, half of the fries had no potato in them and my burger was luke warm and my partners meal, one of the last ones to come out may I add, was wrong!! Not acceptable atall and we will not be returning.

The staff were great with my autistic granddaughter who doesn't like certain foods on the same plate. One staff member who used to work with autistic children was particularly helpful with her.

I come regularly with friends and even alone

Arrived to be told that only limited main meals and children's pasta was available due a gas issue. I would have liked to have been told this in advance and then could have made an informed decision as to whether I would proceed with the booking. It turned out only carvery option was available which was an issue as 3 out of 5 people would not have choose this ordinarily, this meant that one party declined to eat. Of the four who then ate one didnt want the meat from the carvery so we asked at the till if we could have an Yorkshire pudding to replace the meat and we were told that we would have to pay extra for this. My issue here is the lack of willingness to accommodate customers who were forced to pick an option that they had not originally wanted. The staff member at the time was also rude and and offered no apology for the lack of options available. The food itself was satisfactory but the level of service we received as a party and lack of willingness to accommodate a small request will make me reconsider whether we attend in future. In recent months the level of service has declined as has the quality of food, again this will make me reconsider future visits.

Had a carvery today. Food quality not as good as on previous visits. Cauliflower cheese was lacking cheese and some of the roast potatoes tasted old. Carvery is probably better on a Sunday when there's a larger amount of people eating it. Takeaway cake was good though 😊

High exceptions for this place and it was awful, went for a carvery selection of like 4 veg all swimming in what looked like milk or something, stuffing like a ball of dough & gravy like wee water only thing that was semi decent was my other half’s fish from his fish and chips peas also like cement will not be coming back or recommending this place AWFUL

Staff were very nice, only one taking orders and serving drinks which led to a queue at the bar. The meat served on the carvery was tender and tasty

Only downfall is the queue at the bar. Our waitress was Zena, her service was amazing and she was really attentive and friendly ☺️

We had our table booked for 12.00 not knowing that the pub didn't open while 12.00,the lad came out to tell us and we asked if we could sit in,I presume in went in to ask Emma she was absolutely lovely to us all the time we we're there everything we ask for was no problem.We wanted to thank Emma face to face but no one could find her so I thought I'd write on here hoping she see's it. Been a few times and always found the food lovely. This time there was no flavour, food was cold. Booked a table for 2 and was waiting around ages for it. Was told they were cleaning ours and then overheard them saying it wasn't even finished with. Just be honest

Arrived at 12.30 and got a table straight away. No queue at the bar either. Quick service with 30% off our main course. Delicious meals (but a shame fish and scampi were not available as a frier had broken).

front of house staff were lovely when they greeted up and took us to the table. Barstaff was also very friendly. The food was beautiful as always. No complaints as usual.

Come here all the time and extremely disappointed. Paid £3 for a portion of chips per person along size our lasagne and got 3 portions of 12 chips each! £9 for 36 chips! Complained to the waiter and got 1 slightly bigger portion of chips extra! This is not what we expected at all.

The best pub ran by the most incredible people ever (Emma and Chris). Its always a great night and the staff are amazing! Quiz nights are fun and everyone has a great time! . I take my hat off to Emma for pulling out the stops every week with the great running of the pub and entertainment! You guys are the best!

I spoke to a member of staff a about how exceptional a member of staff was. I was told his name wad Michael. He was running around doing table setting. Bar serving. Food serving. He was exceptional . He is without absolute doubt the most friendliest and professional bar man ever. Me and my girlfriend were so grateful sooooo grateful for his service. THIS MAN MUST BE RECONGISED

Staff was straight over to you to see if everything is OK. After we had a meal one of the staff brought my 69th Birthday cake out with a knife and plates

The carvery was lovely. The meat was tender, good selection of vegetables and the roast potatoes were really light and fluffy. The staff are always really friendly and take the time to have a chat to ensure the food and your experience is good.

I had very high expectations of this places so sad to let down. The food was so dry! No wonder it comes with sauces needs it. Looks nice but isn't can't get over how dry it was, the fries tasted microwaved, and it wasnt hot.

Getting a bit more expensive but good service and atmosphere. Did have to pay £2+ for a dilute blackcurrant and water, can buy a full bottle for £1
