Just went for a quick meal. A very pleasant atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. The meal was very good. We'll definitely be back soon

Overall experience poor and disappointing, staff not helpful. Not everything on the menu was available. Not very accommodating for a large party of 16. Carvery very dry not been replenished for a while. Plates not cleared after eating and being on our table for a few hours afterwards

I visited your bar & restaurant yesterday to celebrate my birthday with my family. We had a group of six adults and five children. We ordered six main courses, three appetizers, and several alcoholic beverages. During our meal, a woman—who appeared to be a manager—approached our table and told us that, because we were a large group seated at a big table, each adult must order at least one main course. This was said without even checking our order. When we asked her to check what we had already ordered, she realized that we had in fact met the minimum spend requirement. I would like to ask: Is this a formal policy of your establishment? If so, why was it applied to us and not to other guests? We noticed that many customers were only drinking and not eating, yet they were also seated at large tables. This situation made us feel unfairly treated and even discriminated against. I hope your company can give us a clear explanation regarding this policy and how it is enforced. Reply : Your staff explicitly told us that it is your company’s policy to order in a specific way, that there is a minimum charge, and that food sharing is not allowed. However, no one checked our order in advance. I was not trying to let five children share just one BBQ set — as I already stated, we ordered six main courses and three appetizers. Are you seriously telling me that with this amount of food, we are still not allowed to share and eat together? That is completely unreasonable and makes absolutely no sense.

Food was lovely had a cowboy burger,warm,friendly atmosphere,there was one staff member in particular that stood out and his name is Josh because he works in the kitchen but i asked him what he would recommend and he said that the cowboy burger was the best or the chicken kebab. Overall a lovely place I would definitely recommend for a meal and a few drinks!

The food was plenty and perfectly cooked, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome.

Great local pub, sure it has it's flaws but what pub doesn't. If it's sunny it will be busy, yes they need more outside seating, sadly the locals won't let them. So for now it does it's best. If anything their parent company needs to sort out their app so online ordering is smoother, when it's busy it tends to die leaving the pub in chaos.

We sat at table 37 the table was filthy and sticky. I wiped the table with my own wipes which I have photos of. The bench/booth area had a ripped seat. We had to order at the bar due to an allergy. The food arrived and it was absolutely disgusting. First of all I ordered Mac and cheese with popcorn chicken on top, it came without chicken then after I asked where it was they said I didn’t order it. So that ruined the meal anyway. Mach and cheese with garlic bread - the mac and cheese was like mush, overcooked pasta. Luke warm. Gluten free curry with popadom etc - arrived and it was Luke warm, then mango chutney wasn’t there so we had to ask for that. Mixed grill- the meats looked disgusting, full of fat and the chicken looked boiled. So white with no seasoning. The mushrooms looked tinned. Nobody came to ask if the meal was ok. We took to meat from the grill home for the dog and the dog wouldn’t even eat it. Overall vile, would not recommend to anyone. Overpriced rubbish. Food quality was zero.

only issue is at busy times your met by queuing at the bar.......frustrating if you just popped in for a quick drink.

Been coming here for years but it’s needs a refresh, food is same, nothing new, carvery is OK, it’s now looking well used and tired and for the price, needs to improve. Tables and chairs well worn and tatty. Pigs in blankets need another 10 minutes cooking, we say same every time, don’t bother unless you like them white, pale and looking uncooked.

Fabulous meal had a steak and a gammon meal both exceptionally good, will definitely return and the staff was very helpful and couldn't do enough.

The food was delicious, I had the Steak Pie and chips and had enough to fill me. 😋Service was good too. However as regards the atmosphere we booked a table and were put near the party section and there was one family that thought it was okay for the parents to chase the kids around the tables. 🙄But not the pubs fault I guess. Overall though we enjoyed our meal. 🍴😊

Five plates of food were returned due to insufficient temperature; a request to speak with the manager fifteen minutes ago remains unaddressed. We strongly advise against patronizing this establishment.

When we arrived, we were seated rather promptly, however, we were seated in front of a dart board, which clearly isn't a normal area for seating. Granted, this was a Sunday and the pub was busy, but even so, I did not like where we were placed for seating. When we did sit to the table, it was ridiculously uneven, the top of the table was moving around far too much for us to be comfortable. When we looked through the menu, both of the items that myself and my friend wanted to eat, were no longer available. The ale I wanted to drink was unavailable, as was the second that I chose. I had to get this from the bar, as the app doesn't show when drink or food is unavailable, it just gets removed from the app, which is stupid. When we finally ordered, I chose a burger and my friend had a kebab. My friends food arrived promptly, great service there, however, I was then waiting a further 10 minutes for my burger, when it arrived, my friend had pretty much finished his meal. My friend also ordered a lager with his food, which took far too long to arrive, his lager arrived after his food did and he was already halfway through his meal, despite being able to see around 7 staff members milling around behind the bar and not appearing to be doing much. We did use the cakeaway service and got the chocolate explosion, which was lovely, but due to the overall experience for me, the cake will not save it. The only reason I gave 3 stars was because the food was delicious, although very expensive for what you are actually getting. Would I recommend this to a friend?Unfortunately not, there are better carveries in and around Sheffield which provide a much better service than I received today.

Staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The food was excellent. The restaurant was clean and well set out. Toilets were very clean. Service was very efficient.

Not inviting the bar was covered in used glasses A few tables not cleared & food on the floor. This was for my son's birthday I booked a table for 18:15 ,when we arrived was today 1hr wait even though we had a time slot which was very disappointing. We waited the food was ok but not worth over £90. On the only plus side I did ask if we got a free birthday cake as I read it somewhere but was told no not at this one. But the guy did take off a percentage which we were grateful for.

Carvery was lovely, good price and decent food, kids enjoyed it thoroughly too and the kids ice cream sundaes are very good value for money. Drinks are a little on the expensive side but overall we can't complain. Atmosphere was nice too and staff were friendly, the 2 lads behind bar were good with the query my friend had too. Would come back again for sure!

Good overall but let down by loud background music that couldn't be turned down. No music needed when people are out for a meal and a chat.

VERY disappointed ordered a curry and a drink which was ok. Large carvery was luke warm, meat was dry and not appetising at all. Also ordered a chicken feast platter which came out burnt so sent it back to them for it to have supposedly been changed however was still burnt and dry waited 15 mins to see if staff would come over to see if everything was okay with our meal however they didn’t come at all. First time we’ve been here and definitely last

Excellent meal as always from start to finish. We were met at the door by a young lady who had our booking. She was aware that one of the party would need a GF menu and had it ready to give to us. Impressed by that. We were taken to our table and left to decide what we wanted. I went up to the bar and ordered three carveries and a gluten free curry. The lady taking the order was well trained and very efficient. A credit to Marstons. She also came to our table whilst we were waiting to give it a good clean down because of our Coeliac guest. As always the food was excellent.

Had a brilliant afternoon at the winter green today the food was amazing from the starters to the deserts and the staff were incredible. Everything from start to finish I fully recommend this place for food and drinks. Many thanks to Emma and her staff 👍🍺🍔🍟

OK, not much to write home about

Over priced for drinks but the food is lovely

We had reserved and ordered our individual meals for the festive dinner a month ago. However, the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. We were kept waiting for three long hours. Most of us, including myself, couldn’t wait for the dessert after such a long wait. When we finally went to pay, the staff treated us like we didn’t matter. They just wanted us to pay the money and leave. The food quality was also disappointing. The hamburger was just like any other McDonald’s hamburger. It was really bad.

First time here fantastic food and staff.

The meal was beautiful, staff worked very hard to give us the best experience. Overall couldn't fault it. Everyone in our group was happy with the whole experience.

I was in on Saturday 18th May, great atmosphere and friendly staff and locals. Brilliant singer Lance Gold was on, will be going again.

Was recommended this place by a friend who has visited many times. We came for my birthday meal, just me, husband and daughter. Felt very welcome. All staff very friendly and efficient. Carvery was lovely as was my daughters meal. All reasonably priced too.

I went as one of a party of four for a "who dunnit" night. The food was a set menu, and we all ticked for a glass of prosecco on arrival .Sadly, this never appeared. However, we had paid for it. The staff were friendly and introduced themselves to the tables they're assigned to. I thought this was excellent as we had assigned waiting staff , sadly though it seemed that the staff was overstretched as after the first round of drinks it was pritty much self service. The food was really good as usual as we always use this for a carvery on a Sunday as an occasional treat. The entertainment was brilliant and we did enjoy it along with our meal.

We had breakfast with santa, it was absolutely lovely. I've never done one before but will be definitely back next year. We've never had a bad word to say when we come here to eat. We've booked for December for a birthday meal next x

It was a lovely place to meet my friend. Even though we weren't local we were welcomed warmly. The food was great. I'm vegan and there was a great range of plant based items to choose from. My friend was really pleased there was scampi on the menu and said it was delicious. Staff were great. So helpful and accommodating.

Went on a quiet early Monday lunchtime, tho it started to fill up later on. Front of house was amazing, super friendly and just seemed to be everywhere, we didn't have to wait to order drinks or food. Really good value for money, I'm not really a burger person, but the standard cheeseburger was recommended and it really didn't disappoint! Burger was cooked perfectly and chef came out to check we were enjoying our food. We also had a newborn with us who for some reason is always really settled at this place, she just sleeps right through, it's quite a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Booked for a table of 14 for a family birthday. Staff weren’t particularly helpful when we arrived but managed to find our table. There was no cutlery on table, starters came without cutlery and we weren’t then brought any, leaving us to get them off other tables so we could eat. One starter was forgotten entirely and we had to ask for it. Bar staff were great, friendly and made sure to put all our orders in together so they would come out at the same time. Most main meals were luke warm not hot, although they tasted okay, it would have been a lot better hot. One of us ordered the fish and chips, the fish that came was tiny and mainly batter. This was sent back and replaced it with a better fish which we did improve our experience a little but overall we were let down with what we received. We ordered dessert and we were given 20% off which again improved the experience, and the colleague apologised a lot so I can’t fault the service completely. Desserts were the highlight of the meal. The salted caramel cookie brownie was gorgeous, it was a good size and tasted amazing, see the photo. The jam sponge pudding my mum ordered was very nice and she really enjoyed it. It’s just a shame the remainder of the meal wasn’t at this level. Overall, there were a few bits that diminished the experience and since main meals were a big part of what let down the outing, I don’t think we’ll be back.

One meal really poor and flavourless (Lasagne) other meal was ok but morning special. Wings were tasteless, couldn’t differentiate between flavours. Sweet potato fries were really nice. Really quick service and staff were all friendly. Would be willing to try other food options but typical chain pub grub.

Lovely Anniversary Meal, food and drink excellent!,

We have been to this pub for months with an carvery however food is now having black pepper added and I and my friends cannot eat black pepper. I was told to order off the menu. Must say not great customer service as the servers were arguing telling me that pepper has been in for a while. This is not the case. Disgraceful service. No longer visiting.
