Backyard Grill Bar,The in Rotherham

Went for Christmas dinner at £70 per head & it was terrible. Starter was so small it was almost non existent & served in a cheap plastic pot. Carvery was all frozen veg & not home cooked as described. Roast potatoes were tasteless soggy frozen ones. Dessert wasn’t even what we ordered & served with a very low quality cheap ice cream. Staff never asked if everything was ok as I’m sure they knew it wasn’t! What a waste of money & a ruined Christmas!

We have had a few carverys here and the food is excellent.we also had our wedding reception here on 29th july ('23) it was perfect, Karen (landlady) pulled out all the stops and made our day perfect.Although we did our own food, The room looked amazing. The bar staff were so lovely and friendly and the DJ was brilliant anything that was requested he played as well as his own choice of music, excellent. I would highly recommend this venue for any celebration, Karen makes everyone feel special.fantastic place, amazing staff, wonderful Landlady, thankyou all so much. We.ll be back for lunch!

Excellent food at reasonable prices

We went with a large party for Sunday lunch and no one greeted us on arrival or showed us to our table so we were left to work out what was happening and how to go on with ordering resulting in confusion at first. Carvery was tasty but we queued nearly 25 mins to get it. Service on the carvery was really slow so there was a huge queue.

THE best carvery I've ever tasted! Everything cooked perfectly and a real home cooked taste. Amazing value for money. Will only come here now for a carvery. Spot on!
