The best restaurants in Penhill Richmondshire Yorkshire and The Humber

We first came 2 years ago and we were back in the area and had to visit again. The food is delish, all home made and the owner is lovely. We will definitely be back again on our next visit. If your local or visiting the area defiantly pop in you will not be disappointed.

We stopped here for dinner and were impressed. The service was really good and a nice menu too. I had the beef burger which was very good. Nice meaty taste, good size and plenty of lovely strong cheese. My wife had the mushroom on sourdough (starter) which was ok, and the sticky toffee pudding which was really good. Overall a lovely meal with great service and we would come back.

Visited here for the first time in a number of years. What a disappointment. On entering what used to be little farmshop you are now faced with empty shelves, a pitiful selection of gifts and half full crates of vegetables. There is a sign asking you to wait to be seated. We were by a disinterested member of staff onto a table where the seats were ripped then handed a crumpled, stained paper menu that didn't look the most inspiring. No scones available just 3 types of overpriced cake. Cost of 2 coffees and 2 slices cake - £17 😬 Definitely won't visit again when thereares far friendlier, tastier and more atmospheric options only a few miles away.

No beer on draught, no food available. The only drink on tap was from yorkshire water. Don't know how the landlord makes a living, rumour is he has funds hidden in a barrel of Wensleydale Gold.

It had been a while since we had been. We ate in the snug which was nicely decorated and comfortable. We both had fish and chips which were excellent. However my highlight was the delicious trio of lemon desserts . Lovely service thank you . We will be back
