Visited here for the first time in a number of years. What a disappointment. On entering what used to be little farmshop you are now faced with empty shelves, a pitiful selection of gifts and half full crates of vegetables. There is a sign asking you to wait to be seated. We were by a disinterested member of staff onto a table where the seats were ripped then handed a crumpled, stained paper menu that didn't look the most inspiring. No scones available just 3 types of overpriced cake. Cost of 2 coffees and 2 slices cake - £17 😬 Definitely won't visit again when thereares far friendlier, tastier and more atmospheric options only a few miles away.

What a disappointing experience. This place is so run down, far from what it was only a few years ago. Disinterested staff, little stock, no welcome, no atmosphere and deserted. Broken table seats in outside desolate courtyard. No food other than cake between breakfast and lunch. Quiche of the day leek and onion, and soup to be leek and potato. Really! This is run by Fairhursts who are surely able to do better. We'll not be back having enjoyed many previous visits.

No complaints about the food, or service. Lovely views and good disabled loo ( important to me). Interior cafe smart and light and bright. We chose to sit outside. Picnic benches, a problem for those with mobility issues, but found a chair so all good. The location I think has been a stack yard, full of potential. The "water feature" was overgrown with weeds and not working. The whole area needed a good brush through and the dead or dying plants sorted out. I reiterate that with the exception of the external untidiness it is a lovely place to get a snack or a meal. Plenty of choice. Definitely would go again but eat inside as surroundings more conducive with relaxed dining.

Hugely overpriced soup & sandwich. Massive markup on bottled beer. Swallowed that as understand must make a profit.. But service pretty bad really. Keen young waitress sweeping floor close to table during lunch, her supervisor continuing to tell her what to do whilst showing total disinterest in person making payment. Cafe otherwise empty. Hospitality maybe not suited to all.

Most expensive coffee and cake I have had in North Yorkshire!! £5.50 for a flat white coffee and £4.50 for a piece of lemon drizzle cake no bigger that 2 inches square. No visible prices. Way over priced and not worth it!! Many more better value places to go.

What on earth has happened to this cafe the current menu has ruined it I have been coming to the cafe every year for many years to order my ham egg and chips previously you hot nice thick ham and good chips new owners came in and you got thin ham and horrible chips as we were in the area again we thought that we would give it another try big mistake I looked at the very limited menu and I picked the best option that I could find my partner didn’t pick anything but decided to have a £5.80 teapot of tea and move on to another place. When we got there there were only two other people in the restaurant and for a big place it was very quiet it’s a shame whilst I was aware that the food isn’t as good as when the previous owner had it the place has really gone downhill we won’t be going back

This was a small farm shop cafe which was nice but very expensive for the food I had a chicken sandwich which was £9.50 it had a small salad accompaniment but nothing special As with most of the places we visited in the dales I think the prices reflect the tourists from the south who are used to paying such high prices I am Yorkshire so I think HOW MUCH

We had high hopes for this farm café but were a little disappointed. The food was quite expensive, which we expected, but we were hoping for really good quality but it was "just ok'. There was nothing "wrong" as such (apart from the chicken bone in the club sandwich – which the staff were very apologetic about) and the staff themselves were polite but not particularly friendly so all round this just wasn't the experience. We were hoping for at a local Yorkshire farm café.

Randomly stopped here as we saw a sign while driving past. We were not expecting such a lovely looking cafe! We already had plans to eat later in the day so had a quick look at the menu for another time (good looking menu though!) Whilst looking around the shop I saw their lovely selection of scotch eggs. I chose the 'goats cheese' egg to buy and take home for later. Good price for the massive size of the egg, but the issue I had was what was inside. There was no hint of goats cheese, and instead had a strong Indian food flavour (and a lot of cumin). I had no idea what the stuff surrounding the egg actually was. Could have been some sort of meat or could have been vegetarian. There were definitely big chunks of butternut squash in there. Maybe the egg I picked up was incorrectly labelled? It did taste nice, but hard to enjoy when you have no idea what you're eating! Might stop in for coffee and cake next time we're in the area though as the cafe did look really nice.

Food was fantastic with lots of choice. Extensive breakfast menu up to 12pm and nice lunches with daily specials. Rated 4 star rather than 5, as although we really enjoyed it and would definitely return, I’ve marginally marked it down for what feels like very expensive food (eg £9.50 for a sandwich), even in economically difficult times. The staff were also a little cold if I’m being honest. All the right things were being said; at best it was service without genuine warmth or ar worst pretty curt, depending on the member of staff. A beautifully done out cafe. Great little farm shop and nice gifts and homewards. Would still recommend and will also return.

Arrived at 16.35 on Bank Holiday Monday. I asked if they were still serving as a large section was not in use, they had cleared and moved chairs away from and area and were in the process of cleaning the coffee machine. A young girl said we close at 5pm, no smile, no hello. She was not happy when we ordered 2 coffees and sat down. At 16.55 she appeared over my shoulder and said "we close in 5 minutes" I replied yes I am aware of that and had not forgotten that we have been a great inconvenience to you!!! She then went outside to collect the A frame in puffing if her vape. Wrong person to work in a coffee house in a customer service job. Obviously didn't want to he there. Very rude no manners.
