Excellent coffee and handily located for the castle and when passing through. The cakes are sometimes homemade but the bought in Victoria sponge I had was pretty good. The pricing is VERY competitive and the service friendly. Altogether a positive experience.

Had a fantastic meal at the Queens head tonight. Hadnāt been for some time and was hoping that the food quality was as good as it used to be. Thankfully we werenāt disappointed. Everyone's food was fantastic. We had a wide variety of dishes and no one had any complaints at all. I personally had the steak and chips and it was as good as any Iāve had in a pub. Honestly couldnāt recommend their food enough. Staff were great as well and service was excellent. Really good choices on the menu. Lovely to see so many options for food allergies as well. Top class

Narrowboat In was recommended to us by the owner of the lodge we were staying at so thought we would give it a try. We weren't disappointed - a warm welcome awaited us -Martin was friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. The menu has a good choice of dishes - I had lasagne with garlic bread and a salad that was without doubt the freshest salad I have ever had in a pub. I did order a side dish of chips but the portions were so generous I really didn't need them. My partner had gammon and chips with egg and pineapple. The food was absolutely delicious - we were asked if we would like desert - I would have loved one, had my eye on the lemon merangue but was just too full. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area - if we lived nearer it would become our local!

Frequent diner at Indian restaurants across Christchurch, Great parking area, reasonable sized dining capacity, very clean and looked flavourous. However, hindrance showed up after our sitting. The assistance declined since. Normally minutes after sitting, water was on the table (was a very hot evening) Only one another sitting with 2 people were dining when we sat down. There were two staff available for serving and another 2 were in the kitchen. We waited for a bit and when staff was unseen in the restaurant, one of us called over and requested for water. Water was served and the staff disappeared again. Later another person from the table walked to the bar, called out for service and ordered some drinks. Incorrect request was delivered. Kitchen close time was 9.45pm and we were not served than. However were served a few minutes later. The servings were smaller for the price than other Christchurch Indian restaurants. Lots of gravy or paste and little meat. The pieces of naan served didn't match our order, and only one serving dish of rice was on the table for six diners. The closing time being, 9.30pm we were still dining. Cups of tea were excessively sweet as sugar was added in the kitchen, instead of having a bowl of sugar on the table, so could be added by individuals to their taste. Staff face masks were removed before settling our accounts.

We went for a meal on a Saturday evening and enjoyed what we hadš the steak and ale pie was lovely. Having previously eaten here I can also recommend the cheese and onion pie. The restaurant area is decorated to suite the old building, just lovely. Staff were very polite and helpful, along with a good selection of beers what else could you ask for. We will soon be returning for a Christmas meal....can't wait!

Absolutely lovely place with kind, friendly staff who are happy to help out a group of friends on a Narrowboat with everything they could need. Really appreciated this lovely spot. The food is great and the drinks are even better. A Highly recommended stop on your journey.

I have been using the chip shop for 4 years now. The offers they provide are fantastic and the taste of the pizzas, chips, pies and fish are the best I have tasted. I use to visit chip shops in Oswestry but now I drive out of my way to get food from Whittington. I am always welcomed with a smile and treated like with warm kindness. Give them a try if you haven't already done so... I promise you will never pick anywhere else again.
