I have been using the chip shop for 4 years now. The offers they provide are fantastic and the taste of the pizzas, chips, pies and fish are the best I have tasted. I use to visit chip shops in Oswestry but now I drive out of my way to get food from Whittington. I am always welcomed with a smile and treated like with warm kindness. Give them a try if you haven't already done so... I promise you will never pick anywhere else again.

Lucky to live very close to this fabulous fish and chip shop. The fish and chips here are amazing and the ‘mini’ option for less than £4 is a massive portion, delicious and amazing value. Had a take out last night and was as good as ever! The queue is always long (always a good sign and people travel for miles) but the service is quick and efficient so the queue goes down quickly. The menu is extensive (kebabs, burgers, pizzas etc.) and can honestly say that everything I’ve ordered from the menu has been fabulous! Would highly recommend.

Excellent Customer services - amazing food and also a very clean establishment. I have been there a couple of times and the food has always been very good.

This chip shop is my local and I always get my food from here, it's the only chip shop that I trust. I usually go there with my young nephew and he always gets a lollipop, which is a nice gesture from the staff. The staff offers good customer service and are super friendly and take the time to make a conversation with you when you enter the premises. The food is good quality and portions sizes are a good size too. You get good value for your money and there's a lot to choose from. Also the place is very clean. This chip shop and the staff gets 5 stars from me ☺

The food here is simply amazing, be prepared to wait as it's very popular, NEVER HAD a bad meal from here ever, the quality and quality is always to a high standard, staff very friendly.

Used to be able to order over the phone now started a silly system where you cannot order over the phone unless it was over £25, found it useful ordering over the phone as we do not live local. We were told to pop down to the shop as it wasn’t busy only to find a massive queue. We just continued to drive past and order over the phone for another chip shop in Oswestry.

Had two fish n chips which are lovely and gd portions. Bit annoying that fish sticks to paper! Varied menu here. Best chippy in area.

All food here is freshly cooked and delicious and there is an extensive menu. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful too !

We called in here on the way to the castle and definitely were not disappointed a family meal for under £10 which was superb quality think we will be making regular returns when in the area.

When staying in village decided to try fish shop out. I like it that they do smaller portions, as I don't eat a load of chips. The fish size was perfect for me also. Only £3.00 for small portion of fish and chips, brilliant. Chips, well ,OK, fish ,lovely. At least they weren't greasy chips.

Went on sunday evening as our regular chippy wasn"t open.First impressions were very good,the shop is well laid out and appeared spotlessly clean,the staff were in smart uniform and were attentive and quick serving.The fish etc.looked very appetizing in the display cabinet---Fish and chips +curry +peas for 4 people cost just over £27.Got home and unwrapped the food.Big disappointment-the fish and chips were all stuck together and stuck to the paper,when put on the plate it was just mush.They were luke warm and the chips soggy and greasy,in my opinion they they needed another 2-3minutes in much hotter oil to crisp them up.The fish was dark coloured and didn"t taste fresh-the batter was greasy and stodgy.We were all hungry but couldn"t enjoy the food - most of it ended up in the bin,Ended up eating cheese and crackers.

Picked up a couple of mini meals for lunch today( mini fish& chips and jumbo sausage chips and peas). Both portions were ample well cooked and hot and good value for the money£5.50. The premises was spotlessly clean and the staff were courteous & friendly.The only drawback is the lack of parking spaces.

Second visit within two weeks, had to go again to make sure that the first visit two weeks ago was not a fluke but sad to say it wasn't. The young lady who served me both times scooped up a portion of chips much smaller than in my previous visits.

There are two more chippies between my home and this one, but if I'm travelling home this way, would always use Whittington above my local ones. Always fresh, crispy chips. Service has always been fantastic and always made to feel welcome by friendly staff, unlike the grumpy locals Excellent!

We called there for our tea at around 16.45.

We stopped by twice for snacks and found the staff very friendly and engaging. Chips ok too.... YMMV

We love fish and chips and consider it a treat as we don't have it very often so have only tried this place a few times as we live quite near. The last time we considered worthy of another visit but after tonight we wouldn't return. We ordered 2 fish and chips and there seemed to be a queue for freshly cooked chips so we waited. The older lady sorted our order and the younger lady added if I would consider 2 small fish to make an order so there seemed to be abit of confusion around who was serving ??? Anyway the older lady ( I've seen her smoking outside ) which isn't nice when there's food around . She dished up wrapped it up and we looked forward to hot fresh chips. We paid eleven pounds for this meal. On getting them home the fish although nice had no batter on...or just a hint of so we were very disappointed as our take on fish and chips is there has to be crispy batter which this fish had none. Also the Chips did not taste fresh at all and were only warm and did not taste good at all. All in all I would want our money back as a very disappointing meal which wasn't eaten.

Very friendly staff, made to feel welcome even if it is your first visit or been many times. The shop is spotless and so clean. The food we had was lovely and hot. I would recommend it.

We live between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere and have struggled to find a really good fish and chip shop locally. We have been going to Bomere Heath, which is a 20 minute journey from us, but last time we were disappointed, so we decided to drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction. We are so glad we did. The fish was freshly cooked to perfection, as were the chips. The portion size was very generous. Everything seems to be cooked to order, so there is often a long queue. It's an open kitchen and the whole place is spotlessly clean. This is our new favourite chippy.

Whenever you ask anyone "What is the best Fish and Chip shop" in the local vicinity, it is always the one nearest to them! However after being recommended Whittington's Quality Fish and Chip shop, I thought I'd give it a try when passing.
