The Dewdrop Inn is a gorgeous spot. We were really impressed with the quality of the food and the choice available. The staff were very attentive and friendly! The atmosphere was great and the furnishings and features were beautiful! Definitely worth a visit - thank you!

Excellent food and service in a lovely setting. Really great that you are promoting local food, especially liked the blackboard about the water station with a map of your suppliers. We had the Tippy mushrooms on sourdough toast, soup of the day and a hot chocolate. The food was so good we could have eaten it again, if we had room! Thank you for supporting local food suppliers.

We ordered ‘The Laylock Breakfast’ at £13.99 each. Our expectations were high, one because of the price, and two because it was quite busy. Unfortunately our hopes were dashed for a lovely freshly prepared breakfast when we saw it. It looked like the cooking had been done a fair bit earlier as everything on the plate looked dull and a bit sad for itself (it wasn’t that hot either). Special mention should be given to the fried eggs as it looked like they had been batch cooked and then individually cut out of whatever pan they had been cooked in! Aside from the appearance of the food it tasted okay. Another plus was the sausages, they appeared to be good quality. Our experience went down hill a bit at the start when a young woman brought our plates to the table with thumbs hooked on to the plates using two tea towels that looked like they could have done with a good wash. It’s a shame that customers have to have other peoples thumbs and tea towels all over their plates when food is brought to their table (Laylocks are not the only ones who do this), all I can think is that there must be a shortage of trays. I did raise the matter of the tea towels and was told they were stained but were actually clean. Good to hear but why use tea towels that look grubby? Tea for one consisted of a lovely pot of tea (3 cups) with the smallest amount of milk imaginable. I don’t like milky tea but even so there just wasn’t enough milk. All things considered, whilst we were comfortable at our table the main event, ‘breakfast’ was disappointingly poor.
