My sister was visiting me from Australia and I wanted her to experience the beautiful countryside on the drive from Worcester. I had visited the Glasshouse before and knew she would enjoy her visit. The staff and service were outstanding and went beyond the service we expected. We were very impressed with the items for sale and it delighted my sister that on her return to Australia she could take a bit of England back with her.

The greeting when we arrived was poor as the first words spoken to us were “ we’re very busy “ .Whilst the cups of tea were fine, we had to ask twice for hot water to make it weaker. We had ordered 2 cheese scones but by the time our order was made up, they had sold all but one cheese scone to a takeaway customer! The jam with the fruit scone was not pleasant and overall the scones were not the best. Service was slow .

The points I noticed, which put the Glasshouse above similar venues, were the quality of the cutlery and linen napkins, not paper. Another small feature was a biscuit included with hot drinks. Small touches, which I appreciated, and other places have abandoned.

We have had some excellent meals here in the past, - but today was awful. From the Summer Lunches section we ordered Mushroom & Gruyre tart served with chefs salad of the day £12.50.Having waited 30 minutes, we were served a wedge of tart, accompanied by a ramekin dish of coleslaw with a garnish of rocket drizzled with dressing. This was not a main course lunch salad, but a wedge of tart with a garnish.I complained to the waitress when paying the bill who said it was something they were looking to change, and asked me to fill in a comment card. Really!!!!!!To my surprise there is a similar complaint to this made earlier this month, - and nothing has changed !!!!!I should have complained when it was served, but having already waited 30 minutes we just wanted to eat and leave.I would add that all the other meals we saw looked good.

I had been waiting to return for afternoon tea after having such a fab experience back in October. So decided to take my Mum for her Birthday. Although not terrible it certainly wasn't a patch on my previous visit. The sandwiches were bland and cut into very small fingers. The cakes appeared not to be homemade as they were previously. The scones were tiny and quite dry. What happened Holloways? I will give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe return as I do love the shopping experience also but will certainly be hoping for a return to previous standards.

Will give it a 3rd visit however...!!

Stopped with my parents for an impromptu hot drink and cake.We loved the sign posts as they had a tea cup, rather than the standard crossed fork and knife.I went in first to find out about seating arrangements. I was greeted by Katie, very friendly and helpful.Once seated our server came over and took our order. It was her first day and she was very polite. My mum had a Mochaccino, my dad a latte and slice of lemon and thyme cake and I had a Earl Grey with a slice apple and coconut cake. Which was extremely moist and very tasty. The shortbread side biscuits on all the hot drinks literally melted in the mouth. Yum.Now not many people will comment on the toilets, but with what's going on at the present time, I am.Clearly signed, spacious for anyone with mobility issues. Both hand dryer or paper towels. The liquid soap is heavenly to smell and doesn't leave your hands feeling tight. Both hot and cold taps easy to turn. Added bonus hand lotion to match.I suggest you have a look round the furniture rooms near the toilets, as you go back to the main emporium on ground floor. Excellently set out and each room has a different feel to it.I particularly liked the blue room with the red velvety chairs.Katie is very passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the business and I learnt a lot from her in just a few minutes. An excellent find and we hope to return in the future.

Before lockdown I was a regular visitor to Holloways and was genuinely looking forward to it reopening once the restrictions lifted.I was now visited 3 times since the restrictions lifted and with each visit the experience gets worst. The actual restaurant is cold, with a poor atmosphere and very poorly organised - add to this the decaying toilets which were dirty, in bad repair and littered with old paper towels and I would stay away until they stop using Covid as an excuse and get their act together.

My wife and I used to visit regularly prior to Covid and were pleased to visit again on its re opening. However, we were disappointed to find that hot drinks were served in paper cups and food was served in only what can be described as a cardboard hospital vomit bowl!!The reason given by the member of staff was that it was "easier to do it that way". I'd contest that as surely its just as easy to serve in normal cups and plates and wash them after in hot water? In addition, there's obviously no thought for the environment with the excessive waste created.Come on Holloways, please continue to afford customers some sense of ocassion and let us enjoy our outing rather than just be a bog standard roadside takeaway!

We decided to eat early on a Monday just in case it got busy later, so we sat down at 11:45 and were given menus. After 10-15 minutes we decided we obviously had to order at the counter as no one had appeared to take our order. At this point a waiter arrived. We ordered soup as it should be reasonably quick ... it wasn’t!It was lovely when it did arrive though. And some wonderfully tasty rolls and butter to go with it. We finished off with some amazing coffee cake. My green tea needed some help, it was in a teabag (teapig) but also in a pot meant for loose tea so it was very insipid as it was confined to the top of the pot. So, soup and a cake ...And it took over an hour and a half!Neither took any cooking or assembling. If the service was less tardy I’d be giving a 5 star mark as the food really is outstanding.

We regularly visit Holloways when looking for a gift that's just that bit special or out of the ordinary, or something special for the home and we always take advantage of popping into the Glasshouse for coffe and cake, or occasionally lunch. The coffee is always good and the homemade cakes don't usually disappoint. However, we would not recommend the bakewell tarts; they were lacking in almond and were quite dry in texture, which is why the overall rating on this occasion is very good, rather than excellent.

We like to go somewhere different for breakfast and The Glasshouse is exactly that - an old glasshouse with loads of glass to enjoy the autumnal daylight. A variety of seating areas with small tables for two to huge tables for eight along with comfortable seating and cushions. We found a lovely table and a waitress came quickly with menus. Deciding not to have the bacon/egg usual combo we ordered the muesli and toast option. The muesli was delivered in kilner jars - one for each of us - plus a jug of yoghurt, a jug of milk and a pot of fresh fruit, including figs, strawberries, blueberries, apples and pears. The whole thing was absolutely delicious. When we had finished our muesli a basket of hot toast arrived with a pat of lovely butter and marmalade. Visited the glasshouse cafe today as a birthday treat for a friend.Normally impressed by the attentive service & quality of food, but today was very disappointed.Staff didn't seem keen to serve, but when asked are you about to close, we were advised they were open 2 more hours.Pot of tea for 2 ,only just gave 1 cup each....Portion of cake was tiny....less than a third the size you'd get in Waitrose or M&S, & on the dry side.....more tea needed!!I Cups & plates were whisked away as soon as we'd finished. Considering the distance travelled to reach the venue & reason for visit...we were not impressed.I have Americans staying next week, needless to say,we won't be making the journey !!Previous visits staff have been fantastic, & portions generous....Why the change??

... leads to this hidden gem. I can't think why we've never been here - but we had a really nice lunch - freshly prepared and well-presented. Friendly staff, and lots of garden antiques to enjoy. Excellent!

A bit off the beaten track but Holloways is well worth the trip. After a mooch around the antique and modern garden objects d'art, the interior furnishing section or the shop selling a wide range of interesting objects for the home, then it is a joy to relax in The Glasshouse Café with a nice glass of wine and a delicious home cooked light meal. I had hoped to offer a five star review but unfortunately there were a few issues. The frittata starter with local cured smoked salmon tasted well but the frittata itself did not hold together and so I was scrabbling around the plate for little chunks of potato. Not sure if the potato was undercooked or there was insufficient egg to hold the whole thing together. My wife's squash soup though was as good as it gets. For a main course both my wife and I chose the Herefordshire beef pie. The flavour of the beef was excellent but a pie it was not. The shortcrust pastry top had been cooked separately and was more like a hard biscuit. It seemed that the only time it had rested on the filling was when it was plated up. I like the pastry topping to have soaked up some of the juices so that the pastry and pie blend together; it didn't here. Having said that the vegetables were all fresh and well cooked. As far as is possible all food is sourced locally and there is a good selection of wines and local beers and other beverages to match any palate. Service from the young staff is friendly and efficient. I will return and next time perhaps come for a morning coffee and so sample one if the delicious looking home made cakes that adorn the servery.

Lovely food, great log burner to cosy up to and a nice shop to browse too. The interiors and furniture section has some lovely stuff and the staff are all helpful.

I was visiting my family and we decided to pop in as my family visit here a lot. However, I have a dietary requirement which they were very rude about and voiced their opinion very loudly so that myself and my family could here which made he whole experience very awkward and uncomfortable. The very embarrassed waiter came and said sorry and if it wasn't for him we would of walked out. Food was okay but the cooks attitude was not acceptable and I would NEVER treat a customer like that.

Beautiful environment, very pleasant staff - a real treat and a place worth dropping off at on a drive.

Some people are still in the dark about what it takes to provide good and interesting food, but at Holloways in Suckley they serve it in The Glasshouse, which throws more than light upon the catering there. Innovative, creative, varied, the menus reflect an interest and an enthusiasm, and you can dine lightly or expansively, looked after by young and helpful staff. And if that was not enough you will find yourself in a treasure trove of gifts, furniture (furniture to die for) and all reflecting a rare but infectious sense of really good taste. Bit like the restaurant, really!

Having used this café for lunch and afternoon tea it is a lovely place to relax with home made cakes covering all dietary tastes and a great cup of tea. the lunch time menu is quite varied and the food is homemade. Nice quiet atmosphere in the comfortable chairs. And after having tried the café a wander around Holloways showrooms of gift furniture etc it is a lovely way to finish the day.

A friend pre-booked a table for us to meet for lunch during the Christmas Shopping Charity Extravaganza which was helping to raise money for a cancer charity. We had come from London so were in the second sitting. The quiche was the best ever and despite being so busy nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I will definitely go back such a great atmosphere.

Have been to Holloways three times in the last five weeks . Just for tea and cake . The cakes get worse every week . Very dry ,tasteless and look like they have been there a week or two.Dirty looking tea pots ,minimal milk and stained cups . All washed down with a huge amount of bad attitude! From the minute you walk into the premises you are looked down upon . No friendly greeting no nothing. It is also very off putting when you are there choosing which cake to have and the staff are walking around with full plates of salads etc for their own consumption. We are new to the area and have visited with people who are regular visitors and they have been embarrassed at how standards have slipped. Please someone have a look ar what is happening . A smile ,a warm welcome costs nothing!

I reviewed the Glasshouse Cafe two years ago after a somewhat disappointing experience. However, I do like to give second chances. I checked to make sure Breakfast was still on the menu. Bacon, sausage, fried egg, baked beans, tomatoes, toast with butter and jam or marmalade. I had the depressing thought that as the first three items were listed in the singular this was not going to be a great meal. And would the beans cover half the plate?First to arrive was the toast and we had a choice of white or brown. And it was proper toast not a thick chunk of designer bread. It was beautifully presented with two side plates. It's surprising how many places don't bother with side plates for the toast.Next out the baked beans and mushrooms, not mentioned on the menu but the waitress did tell us that mushrooms were included and we could have had black pudding too. We didn't because I'm not keen. The beans and mushrooms were served in separate pots. Happy days! Then the breakfast Two slices of bacon, two sausages, two fried eggs, one tomato cut in two and grilled to perfection. I was purring. My only criticism was that the eggs were a little frazzled and overdone, an extra knife for the butter, which was a proper piece of butter not the sort that comes in small plastic container with a foil lid, would have been nice and there was no marmalade or jam. Minor irritations which did not spoil what was a great breakfast. Great value too. With a few adjustments this would rank as the best breakfast in the West Midlands. It won't be two years before we return for breakfast.

Myself and a friend visited The Bridge for the Sunday Carvery. It was excellent and superb value for money! We had the carvery and a pudding which was also excellent.

Four of us had a light lunch here yesterday. We had hoped to sit outside by the lake but it was cold so we were in the bistro which is lovely. We all ordered sandwiches which were delicious and presented beautifully with a small selection of dressed salad leaves . We all had banana sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream - a bit like sticky toffee pudding but even better. The staff were immaculately turned out, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. This is such a lovely place and we will definitely be back before long.

We visited Saturday evening and booked a pod, it was fantastic toasty warm ,nice linen and just really cozy, the service and food were outstanding, thank you for looking after us as it can’t be easy when you have weddings on as well but you would never have known, even got to see fireworks! Couldn’t have been better, see you again soon.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

Limited menu, although some specials were on the board.; good choice of desserts. A very busy pub with people constantly pushing past from the garden and caravan site. Did not like the fact that the cat sits and walks on top of the tables and that there is a notice implying that the cat is not too friendly. Manager is a little brush, which was off putting and we have not eaten there since.
