We had a great carvery. Flavoursome meat and delicious veggies. So much choice. Fabulous desserts to follow. Really recommend the royal oak.

Well where do I start. OK couple of words. Brilliant fantastic staff, great value,beautiful surroundings spotless clean. R mumford.

Lovely place to come for a meal, had the carvery. Very nice. Friendly staff. Been here about four times over the last few months and would definitely recommend it to anyone as somewhere to go for a good meal

The best fish and chips ever, staff were all so polite and welcoming. Will be coming back in a couple of weeks.

The food here is of the highest standard, large selection of veggies cooked to perfection. Lovely charming staff who are supper efficient, (my only criticism being: a little noisy in the main seating area which I appreciate there's little to be done, and I suggest adding a little salt round the entry points to stop the trails)

Visited this Sunday and can only describe the experience as awful. Far too busy and no organisation. Arrived 5 minutes before our booking but was to be told our table number was 3 different tables (don’t think staff had a clue) but then made to stand and wait for 40 minutes because our table wasn’t ready. However, there is no where to stand because they cram tables in every nook. So 14 of us including 2 babies and 1 OAP ended up huddled where we could, but inevitably stood over someone trying to have their dinner. Once finally seated the carvery was lovely, but the overall experience was awful because of this we will not be returning. I think the staff are doing the best they can but they are being set up to fail, by taking back to back bookings when they don’t have the capacity. Reduce the tables and the chaos and it would be a much more welcoming place to eat!

Wow, 5th visit here for their wonderful carvery. The meat was plentiful, the vast array of superbly cooked vegetables and lovely service makes this the best place to have a great meal. The price was excellent and they let us park overnight in out motorhome..... Magic, thank you all.

Great Sunday carvery with pleasant and efficient service despite being very busy.

Went today and it was pretty chaotic. Took ages to get served, ages to get drinks, ages to go up and get our food, and ages to actually pay at the end. Food was good but nothing amazing, the atmosphere was very loud and everything felt very rushed and busy. Doubt we will go back.

Went for a mid-week carvery with the family and it was great! Lots of premium options at an economic price. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Great carvery huge meats carved/served, large selection of vegetables for self-help. A selection of real ales. Staff VERY helpful and will serve drinks to your table!

What a lovely pub and the Carvery one of the best we've ever had. Friendly staff and especially the Chef. We booked a table on a Sunday so very busy. The food excellent it's a long journey from Surrey but we will definitely be back when next in the area. We'll done to all.

Carvery was lovely and good service

2024: HBH First return visit since COVID. Carvery was very good. Chef was on hand to answer my queries regarding allergies. Good choice of vegetables, especially loved the parsnips. Chicken was good, the beef was a little tough for my taste. Overall a great place to eat. 2019: Dropped in for a Friday evening carvery, we did get a table straight away but the pub was very busy so I would recommend booking. Very helpful and knowledgeable re ingredients [dairy allergy], I still had a selection of 5 veggies. Generous with 3 types of meat. Standard Yorkshire puddings. Nice modern pub on the inside of an older renovated country Inn

Stopped here on the way to our weekend away glamping. Food was lovely , place was clean, service was good, staff were very friendly. Sat outside as the weather was lovely. Also tried a carvery in 2020 and was really nice. Would recommend and use again.

Lovely family roast dinner. Probably the best carvery that I have had and a HUGE selection of vegetables. Staff were really friendly, accommodating and helpful. Menu has a great range of alternative veggie dishes too.

A very very good carvery with excellent service and a very good atmosphere with a high standard of customer service.

We stopped by chance en route to our holiday cottage. Friendly staff welcomed us and our little dog ( in 1 set area). We all enjoyed the very reasonably priced and delicious carvery, along with fresh perfectly cooked vegetables.

We've been here quite a few times and the food is always great. Unfortunately yesterday, although the food was great the service left a lot to be desired. Our food (for 8 people) was not all served at the same time. Another disappointing aspect yesterday was the head waitress ranting at staff in front of customers. Very unprofessional and poor behaviour towards junior staff.

We have been here on several occasions and I must say that we have never had a bad meal. The staff have always been polite and courteous. Reasonably priced with a good selection of wines beers and spirits.

Lovely food but nowhere for smokers to sit undercover outside.There used to be a small smoking shelter with heater in the back, but this has been removed. Shame smokers now have to stand outside in the wind and rain. I thought all pubs were supposed to supply a smoking area. Puts me and my friends off visiting again to be honest and may put other smokers off too.

Absolutely fantastic pub that has a carvery every day. Special deals for seniors, fishy Friday, great choice of veg & meats. Super service.

Carvery is very nice reasonably priced and can very busy so best to book before going and also have a large range of drinks great for a family meal

Been there twice recently. Excellent rib eye steak the first time, phenomenal carvery the second time. Tender and flavoursome meat, lovely place, very helpful conscious staff.

Food was really good and a fair price. Cost as much for pepsi max as it does for a pint of beer. Service could be done with a smile. Very grumpy waitress but food was out quick. Very popular/busy place. Plenty of parking and a small play area outside for children.

Husband booked a Sunday Carvery meal for 3. We arrived and shown to our table. The only criticism I have is that the tables are quite close to one another in straight lines. Not enough room in the aisles for customers to go back and forth with food etc. Husband had to change seats as the customer behind him was touching the back of his chair and no other customer could get through. That said the food and service was great. Desserts were very good 👍.

Best carvery by far. Other dishes also available. Good selection of desserts. Good location with an outdoor play area for children. Ate here many times and quality never drops.

Lovely Mother's day meal food and service excellent

Have been before ,but this time didn't book and just dropped in by chance on Saturday afternoon for food. Staff very accommodating as I was on crutches- carvery service was excellent (we were the last service)- absolutely huge portion of Meats- thoroughly recommend to anyone ,good mix of age groups - lovely atmosphere

Went on a Friday which we booked a table and the only time left was 7.30 pm when we got there we could pick a table so I couldn't understand why 7.30pm anyway we chose the carved and fish and chips and we was very disappointed with the carved food just warm and vegetables hard and the fish snd chips wasn't much better on this occasion I would not recommend.

We have just left The Royal Oak and we're served by the wonderful Elliot. What a fantastic service. He was attentive, professional and just brilliant. The carvery was very tasty and so were the puddings. Highly recommend this place.

Went last night you could pick your table even though we booked very sparse diners kids running about whilst trying to eat. We went for the ultimate carvery food was just warm meat was OK nothing special overall very disappointing on the visit last night I wouldn't recommend.

I emailed to make a booking as I have done for many years, to be told on arrival (somewhat unsympathetically) that emails are not always answered - after 4 days? The initial service was adequate but, not friendly (although the chef on the carvery was great) but when we ordered desserts, I mentioned to the wonderful young lady that the 2 scoops of ice-cream were for the birthday boy (my 85 year-old father). His ice-cream arrived complete with a single candle - this made his day and, ensured we will continue to return to the Royal Oak. Small gestures can and do make a huge difference to a dining experience. Alas I was remiss at failing to ask this young ladies name - she had just spent a great deal of time trying to placate some awkward customers - and had the patience of a Saint today. Please pass on our thanks to her.

Friendly staff and amazing background music choice, 60s and 70s. We had 5 caverys and one hunters chicken and they were all very nice. Cherry pie for pudding was delicious 😋

Probably the best place I know for Sunday carvery. We come here often when taking my dad out for lunch.

We had lunch here recently. The pub is lovely and the carvery was great value for money. The only let down was the waitress service - they were not very welcoming or friendly to us.

First time visiting here,we had the festive lunch and it was absolutely delicious, the best we've had by far....highly recommended....

Great service here and good carvery with a lot of choice of vegetables. Tbh we did find the temperature of the food a little cool, non alcoholic drinks expensive and the coffees were very weak and tasteless, hence a lower score, but the table service was very good.

Friendly staff, good looking food.

Daughter ordered burger without relish and gherkin but came loaded with it, sent it back...took 15m to cook another but i had ate my meal by then. 2nd Burger was dry and had a thick piece of plastic cheese which had been reheated.....no one Appologied or asked if her 2nd meal was ok...should of refused to pay but daughter didn't want to make a fuss. Positive note my roast dinner was at least nice.

My roast was ok but my daughters burger was ordered without relish and gherkins but came out with it all...sent it back....unfortunately no one checked how our meal was 2nd time out...daughter didn't want to make a fuss for me to complain but her burger was dried out ....disappointing

Really disappointed , recommended for my Grandma and Mum to come here for a carvery and they were really disappointed. Table they booked wasn’t ready for them when they arrived, then they tried to put my 93 year old grandma on a table by the door that was cold as people are constantly coming in and out of, then they had to wait a ridiculous amount of time before they could even go and have their food. Luckily they enjoyed the food but they won’t be returning. Really disappointed.

Excellent meal and first class writer service

It has been some time since I last visited the Royal Oak, but was not disappointed. Participating in a " small plate carvery/ dessert, I was still able to have more than enough had I of put it on my plate. The meat was beautiful...Turkey/ Beef. ...beef was so tender. Whippy ice cream was really nice and creamy...loved it. My only criticism was I felt the tables within the area where we were seated, were a bit too close together. All in all though good food, polite and friendly service.

Very good chef indeed the carvery is very popular , good large parties and also in a separate level is quite romantic kids are well catered for with a play area large park at the rear which is secure and free, there is also an are outdoors for eating

Yet another excellent Calvary at The Royal Oak! We always use The Royal Oak as our comparison pub roast & wherever we go around Worcestershire, the West Midlands & Gloucestershire, it always comes out tops! Thanks to all the staff who work there. 👌👍

Celebrated my mum’s 80th birthday at The Royal Oak today, was perfect. The table was decorated, the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Thank you Matt and all staff for making it special xx

Went for a meal with our niece"s. Their food came out hot. Ours seemed like it was cooked 30 minutes before. Cold

Absolutely disgusting service, got there at 16.50 for a 17.00 table booking, finally got served (after asking to be) at 17.20 where we placed an order for our first drinks and cavoury......45 mins later we are told we can now go up to get our food....to get to the cavoury to find there are no vegetables left, they may as well as given me a whole turkey breast as it was chopped so thick, same with the pork and the beef was as touch as the boots i was wearing. I used to love this place as a family favorite, sad to say I will no longer recommend this place nor shall we visit again. Edited.....came again 30\09 still appauling, to start of there was about 6 people lined up for a cavoury, including myself and my partner......2 people before had pork so was offered cracking, fair enough...myself and my partner then had pork was offered no cracking, then.....one person directly after had beef and was offered cracking along with her partner (he did order pork)....point being we where not offered crackling, and was told they didn't have any....when it was readily available for the people next to us........to add chef did not go into the kitchen, not did anyone bring any out......maybe its me, but thar is completely wrong. Absolutely awful customer service.

Love the carvery here. Have visited several times over the past couple of months. Lots of veg options, all nicely cooked. Service is good. We'll organised with plenty of staff.

We had rang in advance to book for 4 which they accepted. When we arrived they clearly hadn't booked us at all and made us sit as walk ins in an awkward spot. We were given menus and then 15 mins go by and no staff member is in sight. We weren't asked for drinks or offered anything or even spoken to. We asked if it was table service because no one had come over and they clearly weren't interested in serving us. We mightve understood but it was hardly overflowing with patrons on a Thursday afternoon. We left because we clearly were just being left. Assume it was because we look young and could be taken for mugs. Went to Worcester and was treated properly.

A l ouverture on nous a dit que tout était réservé alors que les tables extérieures ne sont pas utilisées alors que nous étions arrivés deux heures avant l ouverture en camping car et que nous avons été dès lors bloqués sur le parking par les autres personnes venant manger, avaient elles toutes réserver ?

Not great, as soon as I walked in with my 4 year old, I felt we were not welcomed. The staff were cold apart from one lady who seemed to be happy but she didn’t serve us. I felt we were forgotten about and I’m afraid that doesn’t bode well. It was £25 for two of us which £4 of that was for a half a small glass of apple juice which in my book, is abit of joke. I was looking forwarding to coming here but was very disappointed.

A really lovely busy pub. We had the carvery which was excellent, the choice of vegetables was brilliant. The outside area was extremely well presented. Unfortunately, the weather meant we had to sit inside, but the inside was as nice as the outside!

We were staying at our family lodge and decided to pop in. From the outset the staff were very not wanting to be there and it shows in the approach to our family - no cheerful welcome just a blonde lady saying "have you booked!?" No hello ect? We was going for drinks then going to ask if there was a table? But because of this very bad attitude we didn't stay And it's a shame because we always ate there in the lovely beer garden
