The size of the rooms precludes the employment of staff and limits the number of covers they can offer. The result is an intimate meal of many small plates. Delicious but crowded!

The landlord was very welcoming and courteous. I arrived before opening time but he made time for me. Superb location. Loads of character.

We had an evening meal at the Valiant on Wednesday 11th December, we were glad to get a table as they had two groups in for Christmas party's. As always the ambiance was good and it was certainly a lively feel with the groups enjoying them selves which is how it should be, we had a steak sizzler and the homemade steak and ale pie both were excellent and plentiful, thank you for a very nice meal and continued hospitality

Beautiful pub fantastic location just a shsme about the kitchen. If you've eaten here in the last 12mths this is what the kitchen is like! Absolutely disgusting! So glad the previous owners are no longer here.

Pouring real ales with no sparkler on which made the beer flat. Nice pub and gardens though

Excellent food, service & atmosphere. Great choices on the menu & all chosen were really tasty. The service was friendly & efficient. Our first visit here & won’t be our last.
