The size of the rooms precludes the employment of staff and limits the number of covers they can offer. The result is an intimate meal of many small plates. Delicious but crowded!

We visited this restaurant for lunch and we could not fault it, the food was plentiful and very tasty and Akis was very friendly, the desserts were also lovely, so good for us all to have a Greek restaurant. We will visit again in the evening for his Mezes, can’t wait.

As a local and regular (twice a week!) I can’t recommend this cafe highly enough. Akis is lovely and the perfect host who cooks amazing Greek food, absolutely fresh every day and the best coffee to be found ... the Meze nights are a must and if in the area (not far from Minehead) it’s well worth a visit.

16th December 2019 and Friends up from London and so thought of this place as had a great time last visit. Our friends are well used to eating out and it was not long before they said "wish we had a place like this near us!" they said " this guy would make a fortune in Surrey where they live!" Great Feast for 4 of us lovely dishes well cooked presented served and social with Akis the proprietor, chef, waiter, washer up and social happy front of house! brilliant experience we will be coming back, for more.

Fantastic little place with such a genuine owner who has so much passion for what he does. Fabulous food and such a memorable meal and entirely made by hand in house. Can’t recommend visiting enough and can’t wait to come back again in the future when we are even vaguely in the area.

We wanted to go out for 'something different' from our base in Porlock. Cathy & I were stunned to find this little gem in the backlanes around Watchet some 11 miles away. Little did we realise it was going to turn into such a cuisine special experience. Akis the host, chef, service, bottle washer was brilliant. Just cannot recommend highly enough, not a restaurant, not on a high street of a town or village but such a great culinary delightful evening tasting 18 amazing dishes for £18, Akis your a star. I Read other reviews here first before trying and was not disappointed with their assessments. But please as as been said Please Please turn up after booking, a 4 and a 2 cancelled tonights sitting and left us let alone Akis saddened. He is a 1 man band trying to make a living with great food and sharing his culture with us. We are already booking up in December to take some friends up from London visiting us Cathy & Rod of ExmoorExperience at Porlock, and cannot wait to see Akis again for more culinary delights.

Absolutely I would, if you are wanting the most amazing cooked Greek food in a lovely atmosphere this is the place to go. I would highly recommend the Mezze.

I drove down a narrow, twisty, lane near a tiny village in the middle of nowhere to have my car repaired. I noticed that there was a café just inside the entrance to what looked like a small industrial estate. Inside, it was mall, comfortable, modern but not much atmosphere. However, the menu was interesting and not at all what you would expect in a tiny café in a tiny industrial estate near a tiny village in the middle of the (gorgeous!) countryside! Home made baklava? Here? The café is currently open only at lunch time and weekend evenings. The food is excellent and the prices are (relatively) low. My waiter turned out to be the proprietor who happens to also be the chef. Nice chap. Great food. Good baklava. Just a small possibility of a bit of a wait for your food if it's busy (i.e. more that 4 people there) - but it's worth it! If you can find it, you'll love it too!

My husband and I visited Balance Point a couple of months ago and I cannot wait to return. If you book, make sure you know exactly how to get there as it is well hidden, also they are cash only. Akis is the most wonderful host. Between courses and at the end of the meal we chatted to him and felt very welcomed. The food is utterly amazing, we visited on a Saturday night for the meze. The food just kept on coming and was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Greek restaurants are so few and far between, but the ones we have visited seem to cater for hen do and parties, making them gimmicky. Balance Point is not like that, it is simply about the food and gentle atmosphere. We have told so many people about our night, highly recommended. Akis we will be returning!!!

Excellent food in this tiny restaurant, which is open in the day but only open Friday and Saturday evenings booking essential and a lovely Greek Cypriot host. In the evening it's a set Meze - lots of little dishes of delicious things just keep coming! Cash only they don't take credit cards and bring your own wine or drinks as they only serve food - and coffee afterwards if you want it. We had lovely Greek coffee.

This was my birthday treat, having seen the previous reviews my wife and I were looking forward to the experience. We were not disappointed. A great welcome from the patron/chef followed by a feast of Greek meze, delicious dessert and finished off with Greek coffee. So reasonably priced and no corkage charge for taking your own wine. Highly recommended.

We’d never tried Greek food before coming to Balance Point and so were unsure what to expect. We came here on a Friday evening for a cousin’s birthday meze meal. Oh my goodness it was amazing! The service was faultless and the food was incredible, such a variety of dishes. I haven’t stopped telling people about this place since I left, a must try!!

Yes this is both a hidden gem and slightly off the beaten track! What is wonderful about Balance Point is the welcoming host and the intimate atmosphere of the place. If you want something that is slightly different to the usual fare locally then this is it. Very keenly priced Greek Meze, authentic, and well produced, you will need to bring your own wine. So many highlights in a varied menu, I’m not going to mention any spoilers. Just please don’t book and cancel at the last moment as two tables did on the night we visited. It’s unkind on a new venture that truly deserves to succeed. Cash Only...

Fantastic food, very authentic mezze, friendly and efficient service. We went for lunch as a group of 8. Because we phoned well in advance were able to have the delicious mezze (usually only served on Friday and Saturday evenings) for 5 adults, one vegetarian mezze and my children were cooked fresh meals to order. There was so much food! 18 dishes for £18. A couple of things that will help you avoid repeating my mistakes: they only take cash and make sure you check exactly where it is on a map before you go as it's well hidden! I'm going back twice again in the next two weeks as the menu changes all the time. I'm so pleased to have this place in West Somerset, and it's BYO wine!

If you enjoy authentic home made Greek food, this place is a must.Akis the owner and chef is delightful and he produces delicious food.We have opted for the meze each time which consists of around ten courses and will satisfy the largest of appetites. My wife and I went on a Saturday night to this cosy and welcoming place. It's quite small so you do have to book and you need to take drinks with you.Contrary to the first review, they don't have Mythos or any beer or wine. But the food is delicious, homemade and just keeps coming! We are Greekophiles and love good Greek food. This has to be some of the best we have tasted anywhere! Thoroughly recommend. Go there and decide for yourself.

Went last night, had 18 dishes of different Greek food including olives, dips, lamb chicken kebabs and a lot more. Owner/chef happy and friendly, as was the server. You can bring your own wine, we had the Greek beer mythos which was very nice £2.00 a can. The meze was £18.00 per person. You can have a coffee and dessert for extra. It’s a lovely little place, something different. Would recommend. You will have to book. They also do a lunchtime menu.

First time using bapmobile since it changed hands, absolutely fantastic service and the food was amazing. I called them up to place my order, I was told to make my way down in 10/15 minutes. When I arrived the food was pretty much ready. The lad that served me was very polite. The food was absolutely beautiful, I had the cheese and bacon burger with onions. Food was piping hot and was to die for. I for sure can definitely recommend bapmobile.I will 100% be using bapmobile in the very near future. We'll done mate keep doing what you are doing 👍

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

We called in for some take away food. Had the homity pie (cold but delicious) and sausage roll (hot but delicious I was told) plus a really nice mixed salad (you can choose from a mix and match selection). Enjoyed them on the harbour wall on a lovely sunny day.
