The best restaurants in Lytchett Matravers Purbeck South West

We held our wedding recently in August at the Vineyard, and it was honestly idyllic. Andrew & Sarah were so warm and welcoming, and Danielle the venue manager and planner extraordinaire was truly so wonderful and ensured everything came together perfectly on the day. We couldn’t have picked somewhere more beautiful, and couldn’t recommend the vineyard more to other couples looking to tie the knot there in the future.

Linda and I are from Cottingham in East Yorkshire, and I booked a table for today, Tuesday, and we fancied a nice lunch , we both had a steak sandwich with a side order of chips, in the sandwich was mushrooms and onions which was cooked fantastic, as we both wanted them cooking a bit differently and we both got what we asked for. We both had a sweet, which was delicious . And finished with a coffee which was good. Antonio, who served us, was very pleasant and friendly . The atmosphere was good and I liked all the plants as it gave a nice feeling to Chequers Inn. The next time we come down to this area, we will definitely be booking a table again and trying a different dish . Highly recommended!

We have just moved to the village next door and were delighted to discover this fabulous pub’s close. A real fire good beer and a fabulous menu all topped off with great service. We will be back.

Once again we were delighted with our visit to The Cock and Bottle for lunch. This pub is never disappointing. I have described a visit in a previous review, however I feel I must mention the salmon linguine we enjoyed yesterday. How the chef makes such magic with food I can only applaud. As before, the service and ambience are lovely.

Easter Sunday lunch. I had the gammon and pineapple, son had a vegitarean meal. Both cooked to perfection. Srvice very good. Friendly welcome and service. I will certainly recommend tis to other members of the family and to friends. Very pleased with my Eastr Sujnday lunch.

We had looked at the reviews & saw they were extremely good so we was really looking forward to a lovely breakfast, we live in Dorchester so it was a little bit of a drive, but we thought we would see what everyone was saying great things about this hidden gem. (But as soon as we arrived before 11am we was looking at the breakfast menu & about to sit down when the woman who was serving at the till overheard what we was saying about our breakfast order & she immediately said breakfast is finished, no sorry or anything, extremely rude & sharp. So we left never to return again.

We have eaten at the Worlds End previously , this evening we went there for dinner . The new landlord/owner made us very welcome as did our server . The food was home made and absolutely delicious,, and large portions . Highly recommended, we will definitely return soon .
