We had looked at the reviews & saw they were extremely good so we was really looking forward to a lovely breakfast, we live in Dorchester so it was a little bit of a drive, but we thought we would see what everyone was saying great things about this hidden gem. (But as soon as we arrived before 11am we was looking at the breakfast menu & about to sit down when the woman who was serving at the till overheard what we was saying about our breakfast order & she immediately said breakfast is finished, no sorry or anything, extremely rude & sharp. So we left never to return again.

Fabulous food - great for coffee & cake or a full lunch. Bacon sandwiches are particularly good! Definitely worth a visit.

We nearly did not call in because of some of the previous reviews, but very glad we did. To be clear, the pub re-opened under new management at the beginning of April 2025 and they have got off to a good start. The well presented traditional pub is on the side of the Wareham to Swanage road and handy for Studland, Corfe Castle, Blue Pool etc. We received a lovely friendly welcome, including our dog, and immediately felt at home. We had planned on staying overnight in our motorhome which is free if you eat in the pub, best to phone first, but had to cancel that and just have lunch instead. The pub grub is excellent, slightly limited choice but the menu does change frequently. Prices are slightly higher than average but still good value. Thoroughly recommended and we look forward to returning.

A good range of crafts represented here from clay classes, to gifts, to knitting paraphernalia.

Nice coffee and but very odd toasties. Only white bread but we had to send it back because it wasn't actually toasted... it was put back in what looked like an oven, so roasted, not toasted?
